Well done to everyone who can make a positive out of the situation the board have sleep walked in to and actually convince themselves that compared to 18 months ago, MON is a decent option. What a shambles

We are rotten from top to bottom. Trouble is those in charge STILL can not see it and they will be in charge when so no clean broom when we go down

Not being melodramatic but unless the new manager (if someone ever actually wants the job) can produce an almost total head shift, we're the weakest team in the bottom 3, have lost all momentum, shape and confidence just as others are beginning to gain it - SCFC board, look at Palace and hang your ostrich heads in shame. This situation is down to you, not Sparky. My gut is we'll survive, by the skin of our teeth I strongly suspect, but 17th wil be a massive, massive result for us this season. Sorry but your gut makes no sense if you then re read your sentence above, which I totally agree with My heart hopes we scrape it, but my head says no chnace given the state we have sleep walked in to. Even when we have won we looked a shambles. Now we just look a rudderless shambles and our GD does not lie. Very rare for a team with the worst GD to stay up and no manager at the worst time of the season

And if Florence says no tomorrow? We left it way too late, our squad is awful, especially if you compare it to the likes of West Sham & Palarse. We need 4 or 5 players and we need them before the next home game and they need to be quality players - highly unlikely to happen. Any manager that has done their homework is not going to want to come here. I think we can still get to 35pts, but will that be enough, let's hope Southampton go into freefall I fear this will come true, except for the Southampton bit. It really looks like too little too late and now we will really struggle to get any key players in with no manager still

Nixon: Doing a story tomorrow. Certainly not clubâs fault.? Oh but it is the club's fault. Waited way too long, leaving us with poor choice of managers and a team in a desperate position with no fight and little time left in the transfer window MON - give me strength What a shocker all round

THIS!! Tick tock, tick tock Stoke management every day, every hour every minute that goes by is another nail in our transfer window coffin. Do we do anything faster than snails pace in anything we do?? . I don't agree. Just because what is happening isn't all over the media doesn't mean that nothing is happening. I think it's good that it isn't all being conducted in the glare of publicity. I'm quite sure the Chairman appreciates the urgency with the transfer window, but equally appreciates that this a huge decision which must be got right. Act in haste, repent at leisure and all that. Indeed Malcolm. That is what makes this loyalty waiting approach even more nonsensical when the writing was 12 foot high a few weeks ago. Without a manager, and lets face it the paucity of choice is the big issue as we left it too late we will struggle to get the players we need if we are to survive another season

History is a thing of the past. Right now Mr Coates better wake up to that because we are in the shit in the present and Derby are still in the Championship

C'mon, we all got our way getting rid of Hughes! Lets trust Peter & John with who they see fit to lead us A. To Safety, and B. Challenging for where we want to be next season. If its Flores, great! 100% get behind him If its MON, then we pretty much know what we're gonna get, so 100% behind him as well. They left the sacking way too late leaving us with a paucity of choice and in the middle of a critical transfer window and by the looks of it little contingnecy planning

The whole club is culpable. The majority voted with their feet at the end of last season and yet the board just ignored it.
I have no idea if Hughes had control over signings, but one can not deny his formations and especially his substitutions were beyond comprehension
Mr Coates needs a long hard look in the mirror. As much as he has done for this club, he has also allowed this current situation to play itself out and pretty much any supporter could see it coming
To sack a manager in a transfer window is beyond incompetent
As a squad I have no idea anymore what we have - is it Hughes? or have we a squad who just cant play football? Right now we look lost and the first half against Coventry was beyond embarrassing I have seen better nogger at Lads annd Dads

Not enough to give you some proper game time Thibaud Was all of the talk in pre season just about saying the right things and keeping on the right side of the right people? It might be. But even Hughes cannot be criticised for not playing an injured player. Butland as a goalkeeper was gash yesterday

I will do it. Get a response, keep us up then milk it for two years as we go in to decline, earning a mint and getting a handsome pay off when they realise I know sod all about football management

A few weeks off in timing can hardly be considered âdestroying the clubâ. Letâs see what happens over the next three weeks before castigating a man whoâs done more for this club than anyone in living memory. I really hope so

This idea that weâre completely fucking doomed, when in reality, weâre a couple of wins away from the top half of the table. It was time for him to go, and granted, the decision should probably have been made a few weeks ago, but now itâs done and we need to look forward. Coates hasnât destroyed us, and to suggest that is the case is, with all due respect, utter bollocks. It would seem youâve been around the block enough to know weâve been in far, far worse predicaments and also to know just how much Coates has done to rebuild and revitalize the club in the last 12 years or so. Totally agree. But my concern is that it to long to make the decision and it is such bad timing

Hughes is/was the manager but you allowed this to happen. Even 3 weeks ago you publicly stated you did not know what the fuss was about Hughes was is own downfall but boy your board has a hell of a lot to answer for to allow our fall from such a strength which you created and now seem to be killing What a load of old bollocks. Please expand

The whole point of sacking Hughes though is they we soon wonât be woeful isnât it? So as yet itâs neither too late nor have we been destroyed. We lost to a club today who have actually been all but destroyed, I hope to God nothing anywhere near that ever happens to us the Internet would spontaneously combust..... Indeed. If anyone wants to know what appalling ownership of a once proud club really looks like, a conversation with the fans of the club which beat us today would be as good a place as any to start. Indeed My Coventry mate can give chapter and verse. Coates has done so much but for me the where we are now is of his own making

I donât know why I have to qualify because if you have followed our club for 1 year or a 100 matters not a hit For the record 1971 is the first I can recall With age often comes perspective and wisdom. Not always though clearly...... It also illustrates your naivety if you think he reads this stuff Now be a good chap and go to bed
