I thought the crowd were excellent today considering the blows we had to take, I feared the crowd might turn but that did not happen. We are going through a terrible time but these things can happen - we have to stick together and must do this again on Saturday.
This is where we as fans show our true mettle. No point sulking, calling for the Manager or throwing our toys out, stay together as one and we WILL get through this.
Keep the faith

Don't get me wrong racism is deplorable and completely wrong and if proven to be true Messrs Terry and Suarez deserve to be punished, there is completely no place for it in a civilised society. The debate for me however is the level of punishment - I have read threads calling for life bans and 10 games bans which I think is excessive. Again I maintain such punishments are disproportionate in my opinion - noone has been raped or murdered here. Thats not to say I am trying to water down the serious nature of their conduct - its just - lets get things into some sort of perspective. The public shame of it, abuse for the rest of their careers from the terraces, a big fine, 3-5 match ban yes - but life ? No I think not. In the case of John Terry you can also add being stripped of the England captainship - all of that is sufficient in my opinion.

Good grief you make a comment on a topical subject that is currenly in the news and you get hammered with all sorts - Kylelightbourne says im an idiot, ive been branded sad and stupid - the oatcake message board is an unforgiving place.
Anyway ill stick to my original comments thank you very much - it seems some people cannot exchange views without being insulting. Im not ignorant, I am not racist, im not stupid or an idiot - i have a view and if you don't agree fine. No need to resort to childish insults.
The point I wanted to make is the punishment should fit the crime - life bans etc is a disproportionate punishment in my opinion. Things need to be put into a little bit of perspective - noone has been killed, raped etc.................

I think in todays society we disproportionately punish people for racism - and before anyone accuses me of being a racist stop right there because I am not at all. I have many friends from many different backgrounds and absolutely do not have a racist bone in my body.
Everyone is outraged because of the recent accusations of Suarez and Terry but is this really justified? Yes its wrong and yes its unacceptable but ultimately these examples are just personal insults using words in a similar way to someone calling be a ginger c££t (yes im a ginge !). I can cope with that - broad shoulders needed. Im not paranoid and really don't care.
Lots of ethnicities from different backgrounds are a little bit paranoid in todays day and age. Talk of life bans even ten game bans are excessive in my opinion. It seems to me that a nasty assault without the racist element would be less punishable than someone using the N word - that to me is not right.
All these anti racism campaigns are a little bit excessive in my eyes. We don't need it ramming down our throat every game we go to - we all know by now or certainly should do what is unacceptable.
For John Terry and Suarez to receive disproportionate bans is purely because of the way society has gone and the taboo that is racism. The PC brigade has gone overboard with this and to me its disproportionate - it is unacceptable granted but its not the crime of the century either.

If you think the support is restless now I dread to think what it will be like if we lose the next 2 home games. The Manager will be under tremendous pressure and the atmosphere will be awful.
I have got to say that as a collective our " support " is not the all singing all dancing lot outsiders seem to think. In fact quite the opposite at times.
This is when the team and Management need us the most. Lets unite and get behind them TP will see us through this.

every time I watch him I think he is a championship player and I constantly hear " At least he puts his foot on the ball and tries to pass it ". Everytime he gets it he puts his foot on it and passes to the opposition. Im sorry he is no good - in fact the midfield is clearly our problem area.
Got to say 5 m on Palacios looked bad value on tonights evidence. Poor.

I feel bad about my negative posts earlier on this week - thats why I would be no good as a Manager. I was just so gutted after Monday but fair play to the lads tonight and if we could get a win on Sunday Ill happily eat humble pie.
Well done Stoke and well done Crouchy.

It can be very unpopular to be critical on this board - good job I put my tin hat on. I maintain that these are worrying times, maybe I worry to much but for me the warning signs are there. We have all seen expensively assembled sides get relegated - West Ham not too long ago spings to mind.
Monday was awful - a few more of them and even those blinded by loyalty who refuse to ever be critical may start to see it. There is no point going on about how far TP has brought us - we are where we are now and returning to where we came from is no longer an option. If we are in the bottom 5 by Christmas and certainly the new year some brave decisions maybe needed.
In Tony I still trust - but yeh Im worried too many appallling performances for me.

Let me get this straight first of all - I dont want Pulis out he has done a tremendous job however his relationship with Coates concerns me.
Lets be frank the style of football is not great to watch it never has been - but with good results we all tolerate it. When we are losing it looks even worse - no plan B, devoid of idea's and only one way in playing. It has to be a concern that we have spent all this money and look no better than last season in fact arguably worse.
In my opinion 10M for Crouch is bad business.
Pulis is not indispensable. People on here go mad if you dare criticise him but if we continue on a downward spiral then inevitably questions will get asked. There is no room for sentiment and we cannot have unconditional loyalty from Coates if things get worse and we do start to teeter around relegation.
Of course ill be accused of over reacting but for me the warning signs are there and have been before Monday. We lack pace throughout the team, have the worst midfield in the Premier league and dont score many goals.
These are worrying times however you want to look at it and like any other Manager he will be judged on current results not what he has done over the last 4 years.
Worrying times

I have read lots of threads regarding today. It seems the critics are not allowed to be critical without being lambasted or abused on these message boards. People are entitled to their views especially so if they follow the team home and away.
Today we were very poor, there's no escaping that fact. You can also argue TP was very poor today too. Don' get me me wrong Im 100 % Pulis and see today as a blip, I think we have to accept we were going to lose eventually.
I also accept that others can have a different view and those who do don't deserve some of the abuse they get.
Rant over. Tin hat on.

Today is the very reason why I travel the length of the country week in week out to watch the Potters.
I could watch that every day of the week if I can keep enjoying last minute mentals. It was carnage at the front absolute carnage - and boy did I love the very loud " WE ALWAYS BEAT WEST BROM " that followed.
The Hawthorns is now officially my favourite ground.
This group never ever leave you short changed. Full respect

It say CET (central European time) 1900hrs. I think we are 2 hours behind Turkey so does this mean they will be 1 hr ahead of CET and we are 1 hour behind ? Does anyone still follow ?
Does that mean the game at Stoke will kick off at 6pm and 8pm in Turkey ?
The reason I ask is the best flight I want does not land until 430pm. This is obviously a risk. If all goes to plan - through immigration paying my tenner should be outside the airport by 1715hrs - taxi is about 45 mins 21km to the ground.
So at the stadium about 6 to 630pm.
If the flight gets delayed however im fu c ked.
