every time I watch him I think he is a championship player and I constantly hear " At least he puts his foot on the ball and tries to pass it ". Everytime he gets it he puts his foot on it and passes to the opposition. Im sorry he is no good - in fact the midfield is clearly our problem area.
Got to say 5 m on Palacios looked bad value on tonights evidence. Poor.

Palacios is clearly not "Stoke fit" and that's, on tonights showing, clearly not some kind of smokescreen for Pulis getting rid of him like the conspiracy theorists would have you believe. Whelan did OK, he's very good at times with his passing especially when it comes to spreading the play out to the wide men. Poor against Newcastle but most were.

You are spot on. Whelan, Delap, Whitehead and Palacios would not look out of place at Coventry City.
Palacios is just another Diao; he has never scored goals or set any up (useless at Spurs)

I really think Palacios will turn out to be a cracking buy. The only thing that worries me is we had all this clearly not "Stoke fit" bollocks about Tuncay for the first few months and that didn't have a happy ending did it?

I contadicted Werrington's comments then as I do now, and agree, Whelan's current form is pants....
however, that's the idea of having 5 or 6 midfielder's who can vie for the places available,,,
we'll never get it right whoever we play but as long as the result is good, and the play ain't too bad then I'll go with TP's verdict
