I’m a lapsed ST holder also - about 4 or maybe 5 years now and having broken that compulsion and even what I regarded as a duty almost, I won’t be getting another - but it’s been less about the shite that’s been served up on the field and the lunacy at the top and more about what the game has become and the stuff that’s going on beyond the actual games - I went to the QPR game on a freebie last week and although we made a decent fight of it and got the 3 points from what was quite an entertaining match, the whole circus that surrounds it leaves me nonplussed and it’s just not for me anymore. Sky subscription will be going soon as well…….it’s not just Stoke - the whole game is FUBAR and I’m not interested in subsidising it anymore.

Don't think you are the problem, it's me. I had a pair of Stoke City pants given to me at Christmas.....I thought these will be lucky to wear every game which I have done. Needless to say I didn't wear them last Wednesday and we won. Anybody got any suggestions as to what I do with now. Yeuch - you should probably wash the skiddies out of your trousers from Weds!

The liner on the west stand side was hopeless and made (and missed) some key decisions - not a great performance although it was entertaining seeing a few of our lot losing it !!!

He's only been in charge for 6 weeks though, and been dealt a thoroughly bad hand with what he's inherited The concern had been that he's "lost the dressing room" And, as far as you can tell with these things, last night showed he hadn't. He showed flexibility last night, and that was encouraging I still think, rightly or wrongly, he's lost a few previous favourites. No Vidigal or Haksabanovic in the squad probably shows they are about done here, but we need players who want to play at the moment, so if that's the way it is then so be it. There still looks to be a good 18 or so who are still up for it, so let's just persevere with them until the end of the season. I can see us beating Coventry as well now. They are on a different level than QPR, who were crap, but football is all about momentum and that should have given us some confidence. I had similar thoughts about potential trouble-makers / mal-contents having being tactically isolated - and it's the right thing to do - either you're up for it or not however good you are....we need a team of scrappers now til the end of the season.......and THEN yet another clearout and some inspired recruitment !!! (yeh I know!)

how many were there - seemed a lot to me - at least 8 surely? - so thats 4 mins minimum There were 10 subs but you are only allowed 3 lots to stop time wasting, so you must use multiple subs, in this case we used 2 and they used 3, so 5 x 30 seconds is 2.30 and the other 5.30 i am guessing was made up of an injury to Junior, 1 to Burger but I am not sure what else. I did say to the chap next to me I thought it would be 5 or maybe 6 so surpised to see 8 but not that shocked to be honest Yep - I justlooked it up there were deffo 10 !!! www.footballcritic.com/championship-stoke-city-fc-queens-park-rangers-fc/match-stats/3013990Great detail there as well fellah - I didn't know the multiple rules !!

As said on the match thread, 10 substitutions, so that's 5 minutes straight away. That leaves 3 minutes for time wasting and what ever else. There wasn’t 10 substitution breaks though. how many were there - seemed a lot to me - at least 8 surely? - so thats 4 mins minimum

We did not limit their goal scoring opportunities to nil or long range shots After 5 minutes their forward came one on one with iversen after a player playing out of position gave the ball away in our half with a wayward pass and the left back failed to cover . A similar goal scoring opportunity was had by qpr shortly afterwards but their player (I mean they are poor, really poor) shot the ball at the side netting We could have easily gone 1-0 down before having had even a glimpse of their penalty box I thought we restricted them to hardly anything. Their XG was a pretty abysmal 0.4, and they had one shot on target. They knocked it around impressively at times and there's a couple of their players that I'd have here but thankfully there was no end product and limited nailed-on chances - they kept coming late on but couldn't get through our defence for the most part and seemed to want to walk it in......we did a great job to keep them out and grind out the much needed result

The game wasn’t shit - in the circumstances it was a great performance against a very tricky QPR who knocked it about impressively at times and have a couple of players I’d love to see here if they get relegated! I know “one swallow does not a summer make” but it was a decent response from players, manager and those who were there in the ground tonight - I shall be going for more “shit” on Saturday for my 3rd appearance in 4 years! Entertainment wise and quality wise it was rubbish. We dug in though and fought, which made up for it. We do have some quality in the side: Burger is a Rolls Royce of a midfielder and Junho is a creative spark for two examples, but the majority of the team is really lacking. We've got to do whatever we can just to get points on the board for now. Sorry to disagree but I was very much entertained - end to end stuff, some nice moves and chances from both sides (some howlers of course), a good goal at a crucial moment after 15 mins of sustained pressure then a no-sitting-back-on-one goal approach to a lively and sometimes brutal second half topped off with a nerve jangling finish and 8 mins added - a million miles away from some of the abject dross recently. Maybe I’m easily pleased 😀

The win was not thanks to him Tactically they were superior The manager deserves no credit for today’s 3 points from an unwatchable match The player he wanted and got in the January window Cundle was utterly useless - as he has been in all his appearances so far So by chance we got three points despite of the manager and his poor tactical choices and utterly shite substitutions and not thanks to him Have you not been watching our last few games? Schumacher completely changed the system tonight to protect our appalling defence. It restricted QPR to 1 shot on target and gave us a clean sheet after we'd conceded 11 goals in our last 3 games. Had he just carried on with the same gameplan, we'd have no doubt seen the usual defensive collapse and we'd have lost. The game was shit and, given that we have a squad of mainly shit players, we were pretty shit, but we found a way to win. The manager deserves credit for realising that he has to compromise his ideals and find a more pragmatic way of playing given our limitations. The game wasn’t shit - in the circumstances it was a great performance against a very tricky QPR who knocked it about impressively at times and have a couple of players I’d love to see here if they get relegated! Yep I was fearing the full on chest-beating a la post Leeds victory but thankfully he reined it in ! Great to see what it meant to him though and the team - yes a lot of relief etc but that was as committed performance with dare I say it Pulis-like fighting team spirit that we’ve seen for a long long time - yes it was riven with mistakes and one or two howlers but the difference tonight was the desire to correct those mistakes and chase stuff down - if they put that level of effort, desire and endeavour into every match then there’s no way we’ll be relegated or even in the scrap and that will do for me this season - glad I made the effort to actually go down to see what I hope will be the start of our revival first hand (only 2nd time in 4 years) - I predicted a win and survival and I stick by that - I also fancy us for another on Saturday as the positive fighting team response and reaction to our victory was palpable - we shall see……
