I remember after we lost away at Plymouth, Fishlovesoatcakes, posted that he had spoken to SS who had said we had a really good squad of players who were very much under performing. I wonder what he thinks now? WTF have I done to my family Set them up for life no matter what happens on the pitch - no doubt he’ll be deeply troubled that things are going pear shaped so soon into what must be a dream appointment but he will be comforted in that he and his family will have no money worries herein……..

I haven’t read this thread as being against foreign players at all - just that our attempt to bring in good quality continental players has, by and large been a failure. We need to recruit someone who know more about overseas players - a foreign manager perhaps - to improve our chances to a) find good prospects and b) play them in the right way ……..so not coming across as xenophobic at all, just an observation on our current recruitment team malaise….. It's probably 50/50 though isn't it? Burger and Bae have been really good and our best two players overall. Better than than any players from the British side of our "strategy". These are the best of a bad / mediocre bunch I would agree……..but we need a much better informed system and strategy to exploit the massive foreign market more successfully……this recruitment team don’t seem up to it in either camps…….

I just don’t really feel like doing anything. It’s weird. I don’t like anyone at the club right now. I’m not sure that’s ever been the case before. Yeh - I’m similar. Not been much to love these past 5 or 6 years and even less so now……. I haven’t regretted giving up my families season tickets for a second (which we held for 20 years or so) - the club has become a big woke idiosyncratic parody ….. and not even a funny one

Hey here’s a mad idea, let’s try the “foreign route” for the next managerial appointment who may know more about players and how they play on the continent…….

Yeah that’s what we need isn’t it, another manager. The squad is fucking shit no matter who is in charge. We do need a more suitable manager and a dozen or so players for sure but none recruited by the nincompoops in the board room currently - so something else will need to happen as well as another sacking…….

Sorry but what are we paying SS for certainly not “managing” a football team, never have I seen such a naive, nothing manager. Keep saying it all he’s done is push the players 15 yards up the pitch and now 5 yards narrower, honestly he hasn’t got a friggin clue, total chancer. This is as bad as I’ve ever seen from any Stoke team Don’t blame him - he’s gonna make a million whatever happens - I’d be that chancer every time…… the club keeps on inviting them on though - we’re the softest touch in the country…….

I feel for Schumacher, who can blame him for taking this on with the cash on offer but ffs it’s clearly not working - the club never ever seem to learn anything and revert to type when it comes to managerial and player recruitment - we need pitchforks and burning torches up at the B365 next match……..or some mass demonstration of discontent…..

I think we'll just about survive but it will be a nervous run in no doubt - if we do go then no-one will be truly surprised and we couldn't really argue that we didn't deserve it in the face of several years of gross mismanagement and wanton negligence from the very top since relegation (and a year or two prior actually.....) - it would be a disaster for the club and the City as we'd probably end up in with Vale, Shrewsbury, Burton Albion and possibly even Crewe & Stockport County - along with a few "sleeping giants" Wigan, Weds, Bolton, Blackpool, Barnsley - nightmare stuff indeed.......or maybe it would be a fantastic nostalgic blast and we could all relive the nineties and noughties.....I think not..... the bright side of relegation...some fantastic away days there!!!👍 Indeed, summon the spirit of those heady underdog days of our 1st season in the Prem where we did *every* away match on Marts bus (as I think you were too with Simon and the other guys?) - the best season ever in my book as a supporter despite getting beat most of the time - the first win away at WBA, our draws at Anfield, Villa park and Newcastle and the win at Hull to secure our Prem status will live long in the memory despite the ale!

They don't give a flying fuck - the days of "pride in the jersey" "dying for the cause" and "running through brick walls" are long gone - it's all about the money and how to get the most the quickest and easiest - especially at this level.....

End of an era - watched a couple of episodes on Gold only last night - find it somewhat depressing that youngsters aren't generally aware of the context of Dad's Army and that over 1200 Home Guard were killed in the defence of the country during it's darkest hours........

The sad thing for me that today has highlighted is Leicester City are exactly what we should have been when the 2018/19 season began having just been relegated. & to see the top 3 this evening of Leicester, Southampton & Leeds shows all three relegated clubs are all there or there abouts in the mix to be in the promotion shake up at the first attempt. Guessing one of these clubs will be disappointed & have to contend with a Play Off Place. Yet we haven't managed a top half finish since we re-entered the Championship, nevermind the happiness even a play off place would have given us! Today for me is the serious wake up call that we are preparing for a relegation battle, no two ways about that. I can't see where our next points are coming from nevermind next win! A glance of the league table is also scary right now, position aside our goal difference is now shockingly bad. -14 is equal to QPR & Huddersfield. Now if it comes down to that 3rd bottom finish being scrapped ouver come May then goal difference could well come into play! 🙄😬 A good goal difference is as good as an extra point! I'd honestly rather be challenging Top 6 in League One, than fuck-arsing around struggling to make 15th every season in the Championship. I lost interest in being a nothing club, in a shit league, 3 seasons ago. no no no - I know what you mean fellah but tier 3 would be most likely more of the same and there's nothing about us being a so-called bigger fish that would guarantee us being top 6 by any sort of default - it just doesn't happen like that. It's true we're in a mini league of 8 now from QPR up to Plymouth one of whom will be relegated with Weds and Rotherham - it's looking like it will be a close call but I think we *should* have enough to scrape survival providing there's no club-level implosion, player revolts or other off-the-field strife - we just have to hope.

Nuno was the answer but we hadn't got the balls for it.... Behave. The only way Nuno was the answer is if the question was “who have Stoke not got a chance in hell if hiring?” Not at the time he was being touted I agree but the guy has been out of work for a while and we could have made a move before the end of.last season but no - we had to.let the stupid twat Neil wreck the club even.more.... It's a shit show to end all.shit shows

Having said the clueless and miserable Neil we should have gone for a continental manager who could bring a breath of fresh air and imposed his personality and ideas on the club. But no the board feel more cosy appointing another nobody who will not have the balls to challenge the status quo. A little man like John Coates cannot accept the idea of appointing a manager with a strong personality who would just tell him to stay away. At the end of the day this is the root of the problem. We had the chance to go for someone like Hassenhuthl but no, let’s just go for another little man from a little club who would be just so grateful for having joined a bigger club. It’s so predictable and pathetic Spot on

Hmm. I didn't any pics this time. But it seems we are worse than I thought. It seems every manager we get start on an ok level, get us hard to beat at least, but then after a while we start to lose. Why is that? ⚽ Cos we keep hiring the same sort of low-league and/or unproven managers who cannot garner respect or get a tune from the entitled lazy prima donnas players we keep buying
