At what point will people fall out of love for the game of football Sanchez will earn 14 million pounds a year after tax
Yes he will take home a small sum of 270 thousand pounds a week surely there has to be a breaking point where the ordinary person is just going to enough is enough

Do you think JK Rowling fans would turn their back on a new Harry Potter book because she is so minted...Nope... Or Tom Cruise fans stay away from the next Mission Impossible film, because he has made so much...Nope.. Sad as it is, Sanchez probably earns less than these 2 in a year, for a damned sight more work and effort...

If the press are to be believed sounds like pogba‘s agent is already on the case preparing a demand to double his wages even though he has 3 years left of the 5 year contract he signed in 2016. His agent, Mino Raiola, is quoted as saying " Pogba's current £200,000-a-week salary is no longer the going rate for a player of his stature."

The money they "earn" is obscene but unless its personally costing you considerably more to follow the game and your team why would it affect your enjoyment of it. Sure there is a disconnect between the players and the fans, as far as I'm concerned they live in a parallel universe but a good game of football is still a good game of football.

The club owners are even more obscenely wealthy than the players. They could pay us to attend matches and they'd still be able to pay these astronomical wages. It's no use trying to make it fit with everyday life, it just isn't.

Lets imagine if the only competitive sport in the world was summat as dull as Chess. People would pay millions to watch it, as there is no other alternative.

At what point will people fall out of love for the game of football Perhaps if the TV money dries up, and the megastars refuse to play for less than megabucks, then many 'fans' will suddenly find other passions?

So if you are an ordinary person who uses hospitals etc there is a major up-side. His salary doesn't come from us fans who pay at the gate, it comes from other sources, often foreign or multi national businesses. So overall the figures are great for Britain and the British economy. The premier league has many faults but the ridiculously large amounts of dosh mean its very good for UK PLC.

No they wouldn’t Shangsy, and herein lies one of the problems in fans accepting the obscene wages that footballers "earn". Compare the stereotype image of the average "thick as a plank" PL footballer to that of say JK Rowling or Tom Hanks and there is no comparison in "intelligence\image" in most people’s eyes. This kind of thinking is extrapolated into what they are "allowed" to earn in many peoples views. I’m not saying it’s right but it’s all part of the stereotyping, social media world we live in. Take a look at this picture from the Mirror, the reporter clearly using a image to portrait Balliotelli as a spoilt, immature footballer in order to " wind up" the readers and further enhance the stereotype image of the "spoilt brat, overpaid and thick as shit" average footballer. In a strange way Leicester have made things worse .... they rekindled the dream for fans of the clubs outside the top 6 and of the team's fighting to get into the Premier League but the rich clubs panicked and (fuelled by TV money) are spending fortunes buying every star in sight.
Smaller, less fashionable clubs, have to pay over the odds (e.g. 18m) to get average players who serve up average football to increasingly bored/frustrated fans. Ten sides separated by six points should be exciting but somehow it isn't.

At some point Nogger is going to go Tits up. If it continues the way it is going, how long before the 1st. £1m a week player? Could you imagine having a squad of 25 players all on £1m a week? My Daughter is a Nurse, she has not had a pay rise in over 5 years, she and workers like her are more important than any fucker who kicks a bag of wind round a fecking football pitch.

Do people complain about how much film stars earn?
Does it stop them watching their favourite films?
Or Formula One drivers?
Or Company Directors?
Or Libel Lawyers?
So why footballers?
In any economic system based on supply & demand a tiny tiny percentage at the top will take a vast amount compared to everyone else.
Thats the way a Capitalist Economy works without any regulation.
Love it or loathe it.

View Attachment I kind of like that about sports stars earning big bucks. Gives hope to every young person that it doesn't matter if you're not the brightest if you excel at something you can really get somewhere in life whether that's kicking a bag of wind, punching someone in the head or running away from the police even when they're no longer really chasing you. Everybody is good at something so find out what you're good at and you'll do OK maybe you'll earn £400k a week, most probably you won't but don't let that stop you trying.

Football is a dead brand now. Game has been destroyed. But it's not is it? The game we grew up with in the 70's and 80's is long gone but football is very alive. The prem has allowed the branded teams to thrive and the media have done a great job of keeping the gravy train rolling. Disparaging lesser teams and creaming all over the big 6. I hate that the playing field is so unfair and that it is usually the team with the biggest bank balance that always win. I've supported stoke all my life and they are my team come what may. I sadly see very little success in terms of league position or cups but hope springs eternal.

They've really hyped this transfer up, mainly because it's Man Utd and it sells papers and gets clicks on websites. With this Sanchez transfer they're including private jet fees, agent fees, signing on fee's, fucking dog food the lot. Like that's not the case for almost every transfer. Basically because fuck all else has been happening during the transfer window. Every other deal its just the fee mentioned. Maybe Pogba does want to be on par with the highest earner, I would too if I was a global icon - who made the club millions of pounds in revenue from shirt sales. I'd also appreciate another great player joining my team to help win things.

Do you really think the players give a fuck when they lose anymore? NO. absolutely not. They don't care. They go home to their 100K a week multi million pound mansion without a care in the world. The game is now divided between money. This is proven by the top 6 and the rest.

Two points IMO :
1. On the day Oxfam publish a report identifying that 42 people have as much wealth as half of the entire population of the world (the poorest) it’s a pretty small issue to get vexed about.
We should be angry at ourselves for allowing sickening inequality to be the norm in every part of our lives.
2. If we assume a sizeable section of football ‘supporters’ are glory hunters - globally probably the vast majority - ‘their team’ spending that sort of money is a badge of honour. No massive wages = No glory = Find a new team.
It must be amusing to watch all the Arsenal ‘fans’ realise they support a feeder club to the worlds big teams now.

The tax affairs of these people is something I have wondered about for some time. whilst it is not in the UK there have been tax avoidance scandals recently involving the likes of Measi and (I think) Renaldo, and I am sure many others. These mega millionaires will be having all sorts of advice regarding off shore trusts etc and I am sure there contracts will not just be a simple PAYE pay packet at the end of the month I am suprised that some of our gutter press have never looked into this.

Yes charity foundations set up by players is one way of tax avoidance. Including our own Saido Berahino Foundation that was found wanting in charity donations after WaterAid said it paid them nothing from a gala dinner the foundation used to launch the charity using WaterAid as a catalyst for money raising. Not saying that all foundations are just for tax avoidance but it just raises the suspicion levels when you look at SBF and a few others. It isn’t just footballers doing it though, this table is an eye opener into how much some of these foundations actually don’t raise for charity..... Attachment Deleted
