How much do these lads get paid? A lot of them stick around until their early 20's flitting between the Under-23's and loans in the lower divisions and non-league. If they get paid a good wedge, it would seem it's an unproductive system given how many have actually made it through. Have we got a fee for Telford? If not, isn't that essentially three or four years' worth of wages gone up the wall, then multiply that by the amount of players that seem to come and go. If I was to go by Football Manager statistics, it can be anything from £500 to a £2-3k a week usually.

Two guys in the bar asked me to join the conversation and they were debating health and safety in building etc. Little bit heated but all good then one guy goes off says night then comes back hes absolutely wasted asks to get his laptop from the car so i take him the back route into the car park hes talking to me about jobs etc.
Nearly falls over on the way back upstairs then asks if i know where he can get a hooker from and I'm like uhh I don't live in the area tbh then he was all like you know what a concierge is you should aim to be like that if i want a service you can provide it and i was like noted ill do my best and then he was asking where i reckon he could find a hooker and i was like well i hear there's a few sometimes down the street and he said HM I'll have a wander and report back, then he must have passed out in his room.
About 30 min later, ding dong the door bell rings and it's this woman who was put in here by the council who my manager kicked out 2 days ago, demanding her stuff from storage and my manager warned me beforehand she might show up and not to let her in so i was like i cant let you in you have to come back in the morning and this woman was visibly shaking because it was fucking freezing at like 3am and she was like THIS IS YOUR FAULT YOU GOT ME KICKED OUT (she was getting kicked out before I mentioned she had a guy staying in the room) and she had this water bottle and she was asking me to fill it with warm water because she was sleeping under a bus shelter so i had to fill it up so she'd fuck off from the steps.

Congrats Aginger! Have they upgraded since 2013? I know there are supposed to be ghosts in the Leopard. Watch out for them there! It is very, very, very dated. In the lower depths of the hotel there is just junk furniture and stuff piled up in random rooms and the paint is peeling etc. Mostly people put there by the council by the looks of it on my first night! Had some woman holding a 4-pack of Carling exclaim "There's Ed Sheeran!" at me behind the reception. Always a good start that is, never heard it before she was a beacon of creativity. Random hotel guests wanting to get something from their car at 4am, a woman scurrying through the lobby clutching her bag to her chest while a woman outside demands my manager search her as she's got a bong. Good start so far

First full shift tonight. Going to be bollocksed, tried to stay awake last night and fell asleep about 4am as I was laying in bed woke up at 12pm and haven't napped. I imagine this will be the killer and then I can pass out tomorrow morning and I'll get into gear.

The buses have really fucked me, I live in Wolstanton and there's literally no buses going through after 7pm on any night so I've got to walk 2-2.5 miles to work I'm based in Wolstanton too mate. Each time I visit it's a little bit worse. The 17 bus got scrapped. No buses at all on Sundays. It's a complete shambles. It's like the whole town is cut off, I've never had to catch a bus at night before but it makes me wonder how people get home if they have no car, taxis are expensive i worked it out it'd be about £160 a month on taxis if I didn't walk

A -Public Transport is bloody shit in Stoke. Do we have any late night buses? If it's going to cost me between 10-15 quid to get home in a taxi I'll just stay in the local. B - we need more shows on at the theatres to encourage folk to go out. C - the smackheads put me off going to Hanley D - street markets and farmers markets are a great idea E - How good would something like Liverpool's concert square be? Good to sit outside in the sun and meet up with mates. The public transport is utterly crap. It's so shit it's insulting to the people of the potteries. Getting somewhere after 6pm is like a military operation working out what connection is required and when can you get it etc. The crap public transport is a real pressing concern. It's an insult to all those who live in the area. The buses have really fucked me, I live in Wolstanton and there's literally no buses going through after 7pm on any night so I've got to walk 2-2.5 miles to work

Congrats on getting the job ! Any "strange" guests yet ? Or should that be - Any normal, sane guests yet ? Last night on my trial, a rough looking woman walked out of the hotel as I was walking in then as we were talking and discussing the weird people, she walked in with a bunch of food in her hand one of which was a KFC bag and the guy with me said I bet she's taken that out of the bin as KFC is shut now

P.S. the hotel is like a low budget version of The Shining inside. They have a function room in the basement that is all set up with tables etc. but no one uses it, proper eery vibes as it's all paint peeling etc.

Well done for getting the interview, sounds like you’ve put a lot of legwork into getting back into the job market I agree, a one hour interview is a new one on me, I’m guessing they’re just sizing your personality up, see if you fit the role etc There’s not much that can go wrong in an hour if you turn up smart and keen and show willing I’ve not done any hotel work but stayed in plenty as I travel for a living What always impresses me with any front of house staff ;- Those that genuinely pay attention to you when you come in , ie not on their phones/chatting to the other staff Those that genuinely know the area and can tell you a) where to get a good meal b) where is the nearest cash point c) points of interest Best of luck and come back on here and tell us how it goes - it could lead to a regular ongoing cake blog “Adventures of the Night Porter” No need to pay attention to the guests at the George.theyre to off there tits to even notice you. Ask the shop owners on Nile street and they will tell you, stepping over syringes to get in your place of work each morning is not very nice. But a job is a job if you need one. Personally I'd rather skinny dip in a pool full of the mother in laws piss than work there. She eats alot of beetroot by the way. I don't have much choice regarding jobs so I have to take what I can get I've been on Jobseekers since March after being out of work for 8 months breaking my shoulder. So it will be an experience

For awhile the SCFC Youtube channel was dead with no content as they moved towards Stoke City+ but now the Youtube channel is the one they're promoting on Twitter and uploading content too, so what's the point of Stoke City+?

The closest I ever came to a job like that was back when I was banging a chamber maid from the Moat House on Festival Park, so the only advice I can give is this. I don't know if it's still there, but there used to be a sandwich shop on Nile St, right next to the George, called 'Take A Break'. If it's there then trust me, give it a shot. The woman who ran/owned it was a proper flirty MILF too. Yeah it's still there, clocked it yesterday when I was waiting for my taxi looked quite a busy place. I've just read through the TripAdvisor reviews haha, more one star reviews than anything else in the past 8 years. Well, on one hand it could be and probably is dreadful on the other hand maybe standards are so low that I can get the job easily! Must have applied for 200 jobs in the past 3 months

This is what's on Indeed page and what was described to me
Main duties will involve:
Ensure all access to the hotel is secure
Do any related security duties as required overnight
Looking after guests
Being welcoming
Providing overnight bar service
Set up rooms for functions, meeting and dinners
General housekeeping
-------------------------
I was more just a little bit curious of what kind of things I can be expecting in a 1 hour trial, it's quite a short thing to me like 30 min of that will be a walk around the hotel I'd have thought?

Diego Maradona has begun work as chairman of Belarus club Dynamo Brest after signing a three-year contract. Argentina's 1986 World Cup-winning captain arrived in the country after fulfilling his role as a FIFA ambassador at the World Cup. He flew in by private jet and later paraded through the streets on a large jeep. Dynamo Brest were rescued from bankruptcy two years ago and have never won a league title. www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/11439140/diego-maradona-presented-as-chairman-of-dynamo-brest

But De Laurentiis told La Repubblica that "Ronaldo was also offered to Napoli".
He added: "[Jorge] Mendes, his agent, called me. We formulated our offer and would have paid Ronaldo with the percentage of the income guaranteed by his arrival.
"[But] the €350million that Juventus invested [including wages] is beyond our reach. We would have risked pushing the club towards bankruptcy."
350 Million, that's a lot even if it is Ronaldo

Where I grew up on the reservation we had a chap a few doors away ,went by our name of ‘Percy - pear ‘ his real name was John we thought. He lived in what seemed absolute poverty , never any lights on or anything, he walked hunched over always with multiple bags of shopping. I believe he s still about and living in a home now, the council having compulsory purchased his home, the sentinel ran a story on him once , he also owned property in Meir. We would see him walking everywhere always with his same bags, as kids I’m ashamed to say he was tormented ruthlessly, it was considered a challenge to run a gauntlet they his gardens without being caught by him . His hunch I was told was a result of years in the pit, and that he lived a solitary existence ever since his wife passed, in later years his house was burgled on numerous occasions . What for I don’t know. Also if you’ve e er been around derby, have you seen ‘the backwards walking man’. I kid you not it blew my mind when I saw him

Unconfirmed reports on Twitter have suggested that the injuries were as a result of both Carroll and Reid returning home drunk after curfew and subsequently trying to climb into their hotel room via a balcony, with Carroll allegedly falling and rupturing his ACL.
