Dave Bamber, at home to Oldham on my 5th birthday My first Stoke hero - it was disappointing to discover years later that he's generally regarded as being crap It takes a very brave man to admit publicly that Dave Bamber was their hero and furthermore that they had no idea he was crap.

I did go a couple of games in '69 but I think they were 0-0. I was definately there when we whacked the Arse 5-0 early in 1970 so whoever scored first that game was probably my first, Conroy scored a screamer I remember that, sitting on the wall at the Stoke End.

I think Rooster vs Mansfield - in 1993.
Pretty sure he scored 2 that game but don’t know for definite if he scored the first, just remember his bald head with his arm in the air

The famous Boxing Day game in 1988 against Man City where we gave them half the ground and they brought a load of inflatable bananas. Google tells me that Chris Kamara scored my first Stoke goal. Very faded childhood memories of it as I was only 5 but all the general chaos and noise definitely stick in the memory.

Not sure, but I'm sure one of our elder statesmen on here will tell me.... My first ever Stoke game was a 3-0 home win against West Brom when I was around 9 or 10 years old, so around 1982 Just had a look mate and we beat WBA 3-0 on the 20th May 82(last day of the season) and Dave Watson scored the 1st It was a night match so not sure if I'm getting confused.

A 3-0 home win over Brighton in 82/83. As a 6 and a half year old lad. I thought all the goals were scored by Paul Maguire, but just looking it up, it was actually Mickey Thomas, Chambo, and Sammy Mcollroy. Got bitten by the bug that day onwards.

Keith Bebbington. Stoke 3 Liverpool 1. Victoria ground Wednesday 29th April 1964. I was a seven year old - the size of the crowd, the noise, floodlights was enormous. Ritchie and Dobjng scored our other goals.

Tim Coleman in a 3-1 defeat of Leicester City. That season, my first, saw us beat Lincoln 8-0, Notts County 6-0, Leyton Orient 7-1, Rotherham 6-0, Huddersfield 5-1 with 4-1 wins against both Blackburn and Swansea as well as wins against the Vale and a league double against Liverpool. It’s been downhill ever since!

Sean Haslegrave
25 yard rocket to equalise against Coventry in a relegation scrap, Midweek April 1973
I think Jimmy got the late winner, or big John
I was taken as a favour by my sister's boyfriend at the time, Brian Gibson from Wincle. The excitement of the night told me I'd found my "team for life"
He took me a couple of weeks later to the game against WBA then they split up and I never saw him again. Nice bloke though

Ooh Georgie Berry. Diving header at home to Arsenal first game of the 82/83 season.
More memorable for the reception Lee Chapman received and the extra a***hole Kenny Samson left with after Chambo tore him a new one...

I *think* it may have been Ian Painter in a 1-1 home draw with Birmingham City in 1982/83. Remember going with my Dad around that time but unsure which Birmingham match it was (83 or 84?).
Otherwise, another match I was definitely at, was Stoke v Coventry in Oct 1983. 1-3 home loss with Mickey Thomas scoring. Went with my school team as part of the Match Mates scheme. Played a Coventry school in the morning (sorry can’t remember the result), had lunch with them somewhere like Cauldon College/North Staffs Uni, then went to the match and sat together in the stand. The match result was a bit gutting when you’re sat with the opposition 😂
Got our own back when we went to Highfield Road, with Match Mates, later that season and Stoke won 2-3!

I remember Crooke getting a few in my first proper season but was too young to remember who got the first. I remember Big Bren getting the winner literally just after coming on v Hull or Cambridge.
