First game vs Southend September 1993, we lost 0-1.
First goal was Peschisolido but that was a reserve game.
Had to wait 4 years for actual 1st first team league goal
- Peter Thorne in that first game of season in 1997 against Swindon in the new shiny red seats.

It was either Adam(1) or Thomson(2) in a 3-0 win v Huddesfield, 1962.

Sean Haslegrave 25 yard rocket to equalise against Coventry in a relegation scrap, Midweek April 1973 I think Jimmy got the late winner, or big John I was taken as a favour by my sister's boyfriend at the time, Brian Gibson from Wincle. The excitement of the night told me I'd found my "team for life" He took me a couple of weeks later to the game against WBA then they split up and I never saw him again. Nice bloke though Your first goal would have been a looping header from John Ritchie. Sean Haselgrave scored the winner in that game. There is a picture of Ritchie's goal in the programme for the next home game (v Spurs) I am jealous of all those who can remember their first game /goal. I went to my first game in 1961 when I was pushing 3. I can't remember a thing from probably my first 100 games. I was at the 1962/63 promotion game (I am on a photo) but I can't remember a thing about that game either.

Interesting thread.
Mine was Jackie Mudie v Portsmouth. Stoke won 3-1 in November 1962. I was only 4 so my dad took me before the end and I missed the third goal. The second and third were both by Dennis Violet

First ever live goal was Simon Sturridge in a 1-1 draw with Notts Forest in 1995-1996.
Remember a friendly with Osasuna that following summer and then a game with Man City which we won 2-1.

Keith Bebbington in a 4-4 draw against Burnley.Followed by 2 from John Ritchie and one from Peter Dobing. Another 4-4 draw 2 weeks later against Sheffield Wednesday had me hooked for life.

I honestly can't remember for sure. This thunder bastard would have been very close to being the first though. My first goal. Sat in the Boothen Stand. I remember it as well because it was on MOTD. Superb team we had then.

Can't remember, according to my parents Stan Matthews was playing but I spent the whole match turned away from the pitch watching the crowd. Might explain why I enjoy going to matches more than watching them on TV.

First would have been in 70s but can’t remember as I only went a handful of times and couldn’t see either - first I can recall was Mark Chamberlain vs Everton - think it was a Boxing Day match in 80s

The second and third were both by Dennis Violet Mudie was mine also, which comes as a surprise to me as I thought and have often told anyone who would listen (plus many who wouldn't) it was Sir Stanley Matthews in the 2-0 v Luton to seal the championship in '63. So when we have who scored the second ever live Stoke goal I win

November 1963 Haha mine too and many older Stokies will remember the game.....we were 3-0 up at half time then Eddie Clamp saw red for head butting their winger John Connelly and it all unravelled. Seem to remember Tony Allen scored an own goal for their equaliser possibly. The Sheff Wed game was similar we were 3-1 up at half time.
