Once again, fans' favourite Joe Allen was utter shit.
We used to be a good side until he came.
We're still shit with him in it.
Midfield? What fucking midfield? Him tearing around like an untrained puppy, destroying any semblance of discipline and shape?
Drop, sell, axe, I don't care.
It's only a moron who falls for his "boundless energy" routine.
I'll absolutely lump that useless hunk of wax Sam Clucas into that category as well. Diabolical.
This diamond is shit enough as it is without forcing useless jobbers into these roles.
Both need fucking off, and we need a better DM, and we need a better ACM.
Our midfield is pure diarrhoea.

Regrettably, I'd have to agree with you. I used to really like Joe and when we signed him I thought it was something of a coup. Unfortunately, however, if you watch him objectively then I don't think there can be too much argument. Plenty of industry, granted, but very little substance. His positional play is genuinely woeful and I've lost count of the amount of times we've conceded because he's been running around all over the place like a headless chicken.
I think it's got to a point where you cannot ignore the fact we've just got continually worse since he signed...

Worst player in this entire team by a considerable distance.
Which when you look at the other shit we have, is a very impressive achievement.
Can’t tackle Can’t trap a ball Can’t make intelligent runs Can’t hold his position Can’t pass Can’t shoot Can’t do anything
I honestly can’t wait for the day he goes, only then will we have a midfield that looks even half balanced.
As you say he’s done nothing but ruin the team since he signed, and we’ve even dropped a fucking division and still continued to be shit in midfield, the one common denominator who’s been at the centre of that midfield consistently is Joe Allen.
There’s a reason we haven’t been fighting the bids off for him, it’s because he’s absolutely wank, he’s pinching a living even at this level.

Thought the same thing today about him being the common denominator in our massive downturn in results and quality. So woeful today. Not the only one but will get overlooked because of his name and supposed pedigree. Sell, even if for in the region of £5m-10m.

We haven't had any offers for him because other teams apart from us probably clearly recognise he isn't very good. Very undisciplined today and performed the usual routine of going at it like a jack rabbit.

Can’t let this slide.
He was far from perfect today but he clearly and obviously gave a shit.
He wasn’t at his best. Touch, distribution etc. But when we needed someone to show bollocks and want the ball he did that.
To be targeting him is way off the mark IMO.

Voted MOM, what a joke. Gave the ball away countless times today. I think Joe is a decent footballer but he was abject gash today

At one point in the first half, he went charging like a dog after a bicycle towards the QPR winger who was already being contained by McClean. That winger promptly passed it to the unmarked right back who whipped in a cross that very nearly made it 2-0.
Typical Joe Allen. Look busy as you charge needlessly towards the ball, but in doing so leave a perfect gap for the opposition to exploit.
I don’t doubt that he’s a good egg, but his lack of footballing intelligence is astounding for a bloke who has played so many games at the top level.

I thought Joe, Collins and (bar a few fuck ups) Cousins were decent. Mainly because they showed for the ball and looked to take responsibility rather than pass it on.

Him and McClean need separating immediately, it's an accident not waiting to happen, it's actually happening, it's an abject mess and one or both or them has to go.

I saw a slow, thick as fuck sort, second to everything, leaving space in front of the back 4, an inability to find a bloke in red and white sack of shit. But I’d happily describe Allen and Clucas that way today too.

If every one of our players had shown the desire he did today we’d have three points. End of. Sorry mate but we didn’t lose because of a lack of desire, we lost because of a complete lack of organisation and footballing nous. Joe Allen was arguably the main offender. I’ve been a big fan of Walters, Sidibe, Cresswell, O’Connor, all those players whose main attributes are their willingness to work unselfishly for the team. The problem with Allen is that he doesn’t do an effective job of the dirty work. He’s constantly out of position, he gets knocked off the ball at least a couple of times every match, he disappears when our opponents counter attack and he never ever grabs a game by the scruff of the neck.

The thing that Allen does so “well” is get ahead of the ball. He’s never goal side. It’s absolutely infuriating. Because he’s then battling back and people love it. But he’ll take a step up and then be out of the game.

He WAS man of the match. Not saying a lot, but most of the comments here seem to have come from people who'd be better off following a different sport. 'Opinions' eh!

But he’ll take a step up and then be out of the game. If you haven’t already, watch the video of Eze’s goal and see where Allen was when Eze picked up the ball in acres of space. Out on the left touch line, in the QPR half, eagerly running back. Cousins is left/central in the space you’d expect Allen to be and Eze is all on his own. I guess Cousins got it wrong because you’d think his main job should be holding the fort instead of getting dragged to the left. But Allen’s hopeless positional sense is a killer.

I errr...did try to tell you and I copped pelters on here for doing so. He can’t be faulted for his effort but Allen simpy is not the progressive passer this side so desperately requires. He couldn’t play a line breaking pass or run to save his life. Don’t even get me started on his defensive positioning or his inability to play the “shuttle” role. Constantly caught ball watching and arguably the worst touch on the pitch.
