Shocking miss again but this goes far beyond individual players - this is a whole team / squad / management issue.

He was always a poor player, but something has gone on with his brain for him to hesitate like that with the open goal at his mercy. He’s finished as a professional footballer and Jones’s refusal to accept this or seemingly even notice it is one of the main reasons he’s going to get sacked or take us down or both. Poor players don't play 90 odd games for Liverpool or get voted into the best 11 at the Euros. He is playing poorly like the rest of the team. Djimi Traore has a Champions League winners medal, Nathan Dyer has a Premiership title. Joe Allen is quite simply a catastrophically awful footballer and I can’t wait for the day we’re finally rid of him.

Whilst not blaming Joe Allen their equaliser was shambolic.
A simple passing triangle completely bypasses our traffic cones in midfield and they are away..Acres of space out on our left side to get an unchallenged cross in and Smith beaten very easily at the back post.

He wasn't Headless today, he was anonymous, other than that sitter. Poor judgement by Jones to play Allen again today, and for 90 minutes ffs. Both have to be held accountable.

Joe was no worse than most of the team today. Ward was the worst on the pitch(he really looks like he should have retired in the summer) and goal aside (which I know is a lot) Lindsay was awful. He cost us the game today with that miss. If that goes in, and Lindsay then scores, that firmly kills off Birmingham. He has been shite all season. He cost us 3 points vs Derby with an even easier chance. He’s a dogshit footballer. End of. If Allen had scored would the game have continued unaltered? We drew with Derby; we only lost 2 points. Who in the squad hasn't been shite this season?

All is pissing forgiven then, miss as many as you like then Joe. Gregory, Hogan, Ince, Woods, McClean has been okay, Collins, Federici.

Both played many, many games for decent teams in the Premier League too and both were much better than most of our current squad. A better example would be Pericard played for Juve.

How the fuck does he miss that?!
It's a first touch open goal for fuck sake.
We gift goals to the opposition and then refuse gifts of goals when they are served up on a plate.
Genuinely, what the fuck is going on here?

Genuinely, what the fuck is going on here? Words can not convey how purely shit I am. I am the worst footballer to have ever attempted a kickabout. I'm too tall, fat, clumsy, slow, awkward, and have the reaction time of a lump of concrete. I would still back myself to bury that chance.

You clearly have issues with Joe Allen. I think prior to this season, he has been a decent player for SCFC who has always put in a fully committed performance. This season his form has been very poor. He seems to have suffered a total lack of confidence and seems to have no idea what role he is supposed to be fulfilling in the team; he is not alone.

I have an issue with him as I think he's crap, thats as far as it goes, but he's been poor for us since he signed, that could just be his level of play and thats as good as he gets if it is we need rid. I'm guessing you think he's a good player, which is fair enough, opinions etc etc, can you tell me what he's meant to be good at as I just don't see what others seem to be.

Prior to this season he was still shite, only people made excuses for that because he was committed. Commitment only gets you so far, you need some modicum of footballing ability at some point along the way, which he just doesn’t have and never has. He never knew what role he was fulfilling because he lacks a footballing brain. That spell at No. 10 remains the worst good run of form to ever hit this club, because it cemented his place in this 11 for what feels like an eternity.

Have you ever noticed we perform better as a team when he's not playing? More fluidity, shape and movement and we create more and defend better.
He's a good player but he just doesn't suit our team and never has. Our downfall started when we signed him and shoe horned him in the team. We didn't need him then and we dont need him now. Not saying he's the root of all our problems but I honestly think if we stopped playing him we would be in a better position and winning more games and playing better. He doesn't create and doesn't defend and just leaves holes around the pitch.
Anyone know the stats for wins and losses with him in the team vs out of it?

I’m more angry with Allen than I am Nathan Jones. If Allen had hit that chance first time it would have been a goal - but let’s face it, we’d have lost 3-2 anyway.

Up there with Palacios and Imbula in terms of our worst PL signing. That’s a bit unfair. He was decent when he first joined, scored goals and earned MOM more than once. The difference is he was surrounded by much better players. A friend of mine from Texas had a poster above his desk in the lab that said “it is hard to soar with eagles when you work with turkeys”. I think of it often when watching Stoke.

I think of it often when watching Stoke. He came in and Hughes played him deep and didn’t trust him. So moved him up the pitch to play as a 10. Where he was shit. He didn’t link the midfield and the forwards. He made us worse from day 1 by completely unbalancing the team.

It would have gone wide, unless his leg was half a foot longer. Watch the second replay from behind the goal. It looked so much easier live. He needed to take that touch.
