Noticed Crewe have got digital tickets now. We'll probably get them in 2030.
A league 2 club can do it why are we still just trialing card payments in one area of the stadium?
I bet non-league clubs passed us by years ago as well.

There's a new professional league starting over here at the end of the month (Canadian Premier League) and that's all digital tickets as well.

I mentioned this earlier in the season. As a club we could collaborate with local software companies to produce our own ticketing system that includes Android apps whereby you can buy your ticket en route to the game and scan your phone at the turnstile.
A real forward thinking club would make a food app where you could order and pay for your food from your seat, and collect it from a hot locker that stores it for you.

Backwards club, soon running into financial difficulties. Lovely

What do you mean by digital tickets? What happens if your battery runs down just as you arrive at the turnstile?

Thought you were talking about the actual stadium there, which is totally shit and was built at a fraction of the price of the other stadiums being built at the time.

They don't even have card machines there either! It's as if they went to lose money. Pretty sure the Mrs' dad says Citeh have a loyalty thing now, where you tap your Citeh Card every time you buy a drink or food and it adds points to it so you get a free one eventually. We'll be getting the stamps for buy 54 pints get your 55th free, inevitably making the queues longer.

While we're on the subject, another thing that infuriates me is why don't we have hand dryers? My office has the vertical dryers where you don't have to touch anything, yet my block at stoke still dispenses paper towels that run out before half time. I love washing my hands and having to press a sopping wet button to get 1 paper towel.

John Coates is meant to be this 'hip' young heir to the throne but either he's as ignorant to the technological revolution that happened about 20-30 years ago as his father or he just doesn't care. Scholes just pulls out excuse after excuse as to why we won't embrace it, it makes no sense from a business standpoint at all. If people could order food and drink from their seat and just pick it up from a designated point, you'd see queues go down and I bet you'd see matchday profits go up as more people would be encouraged to spend if they knew they wouldn't miss half the match trying to get back to their seat.

We are ultimately owned by one of the richest women in the world. Her company has it's own tech house in Manchester, which plucks some of the best tech graduates in the country. I know of someone who works at Bet365 who has recently moved to the country from abroad to specifically work here, because he is one of a very few select people that work in an area of IT that have his specific skill set that Bet365 need. The tech is there, the people are there.

I think our league form over the last 3 years has put to bed any concerns about queues, no need to throw any technology at it :-)
