www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/46498849"All I have to say is have a second thought about fair publicity and give all players an equal chance," he said. In a post on Instagram, Sterling said he "had to laugh" when he heard the alleged racist remarks during the game because he expects "no better". In the post, England international Sterling cites newspaper headlines about team-mates Tosin Adarabioyo and Phil Foden buying houses. The headline referring to 21-year-old defender Adarabioyo - who is on loan at West Brom - focuses on how he spent £2.25m on a property "despite having never started a Premier League match". By contrast, midfielder Foden, 18, "buys a £2m home for his mum" and is later described as having "set up a future".

Sterling is bang on.
His treatment by the Mail and Sun particularly has been disgusting, political leanings to one side I struggle to comprehend why anyone would buy those shitrags.....

I've seen this a few times, but it's still remarkable how this agenda-driven tirade against Raheem is allowed to happen. What's the motive for these big companies?

I've seen this a few times, but it's still remarkable how this agenda-driven tirade against Raheem is allowed to happen. What's the motive for these big companies? People buy it. And believe it.... because they want to believe it. That's why it's allowed to happen. People like a villain. And Sterling just fits that bill. The fact the villainous profile has been created by a tabloid press looking for a victim doesn't seem to matter. People love to hate and they get prompting from the obsessed gutter press.

To be fair, it's impossible to tell whether the bloke is saying 'Manc cunt' or 'black cunt'.
Not really on to give him a trial by twitter under the circumstances.

It's quite clear there is an agenda that rags like the sun and the mail drive.
I also find in incomprehensible that someone who reads either of the above is satisfied the content they publish is real and to be believed. It is utter bullshit written by journo's not good enough elsewhere, who rely on outrageous headlines.
I do, however, find it very disconcerting that there can be trial by social media. From what i have seen, there has been no conclusive result in what this guy at chelsea said. Someone at home has recorded it off the TV, and no one on the internet can determine if it was 'manc' or 'black'
It could well of been racist, and in that case, it should be dealt with in the correct way, but it always feels to me, that people are so desperate to be seen putting shite on social media that facts become irrelevant just as long as your first to make the post, or shout loudest about it, and sod the consequences if you're wrong.

You don’t think one talking warmly of ‘setting up a future’ and the other saying he’s bought a house ‘despite never starting a Premier League game’ is a significantly different approach? The implication with the latter is ‘these overpaid prima donnas on so much money before they even kick a ball’, whereas with the former it’s ‘gee whizz, this sweet kid loves his mum.’

You only have to look at the shit he got for having a gun tattoo on his leg! The whole of the tabloid press regardless of which rag we talk about are a bunch of agenda driven shithouses. Saying that the people who buy them are as much to blame. Its not even like they can excuse it by saying they only bought it for the norks on page 3 anymore. I don't like the scousers but they have the right idea in this case.

And if anyone thinks that no one buys it in Liverpool they are very much mistaken.

Agree that these papers produce a slurry
That said, the Guardian and BBC on the Left produce an equal - though differently flavourered - slurry of sly misinformation, dogma and childishness from the other side of the political spectrum.
Its ideological slurry for the masses all round from the media: petty agendas, and stereotyping others to adopt a position with low brow rhetoric, whether that's Sterling, Brexit/Trump voters, immigrants, etc.
There are few places left to get balanced and objective narrative. When you look at what they published on Sterling, you just think, "bloody hell, these people are infantile lunatics.".... i find myself thinking the same when the BBC force feed their sanctimonious PC anti Brexit drivel.
I'm going off track! But part of the reason for the nation's divide is that a media that has become a partisan bare-knuckle fight.
