The overreacting drama queen like nature of the Oatcake is in full swing once again. Ryan, a man who should no longer be club captain and dropped for an injured Muniesa is now a Stoke City legend and gaining praise like "I fucking love him" just because he scored a goal. As for Imbula, this was a player who was back to his best at Watford a few weeks ago but now "quite clearly doesn't give a fuck".. What an absolute load of shite, yet again. I'm sure if Imbula scores a wordly against Wolves on Satuday he'll be up there as one of the best buys in the clubs history ffs. Edit - I don't want Ryan dropped btw, just to make that clear. General you "generally" make a lot of sense but I don't agree with you on Imbula. He played well against Watford but back to his best, I don't think so. He's also been pretty poor since. I know it's subjective but do you think he looks/plays "like he gives a fuck?" He's a highly paid professional footballer who should be able to handle a (clearly warranted) modicum of criticism. His demeanour is also not helping his cause. If he scored I won't be on he lauding him, I'll wait till I see week in week out consistent improvement. To make myself clear, I wasn't the one saying Imbula was back to his best but it's a typical response from someone on the here when one of our players has a half decent game. On to the line I've highlighted, that's the attitude I have and what I'm trying to suggest is the attitude more fans should have

Maybe I'm just a cranky old dinosaur but Imbulas attitude is really piss poor, and I don't mean just on the pitch. His interaction with fans seems to be non existent. Walks on a off the pitch never seems to acknowledge the fans at all. My young lad has been standing at the gate a couple of times when the players arrive and tried to get his autograph a couple of times but he just saunters past head down. Some of the other players interact great with the younger fans. His attitude on the pitch isn't much better but he just has the look of a lad that absolutely doesn't want to be here. Everyone can have off days and be pissed off but it seems to be a permanent attribute with him. Given Afellay a contract extension and cut our losses with him. Rant over! Everybody has their own way with dealing with situations, some people are extroverts some are introverts .

People are seriously obsessed in reasons to try and beat Imbula around the head with a stick. Give him support instead of groaning at him whenever he's on the pitch and it might improve his confidence. Do you mean supporters "SUPPORTING"

Yes but even the most introverted can muster up some sort of interaction, a wave, a smile, a positive gesture, sign an autograph... I've been saying for a while that I think there's something else going on, he looks completely joyless, almost depressed (and I hope he hasn't depression coz that's a bitch of an affliction)

Let the lad be what he his at ease with and get off his back and "support"

Life is full of all sorts and types of people...why should footballers or sportsmen in general be any different ?
Bizarre how people just can't accept this

Anbody know what happened to the Imbula who looked like a world class player in the making in his first couple of games for the club, then championing himself on social media with his M. O. M awards?

Bizarre how people just can't accept this Who knows what's going on in his personal life as well with his new wife, life is very complicated even when you are making tonnes of cash. Kitson really struggled here with his missus because she hated the area and missed her family so she made his life miserable. It affected his football and his attitude. As I said earlier I hope if he is having issues adjusting and making friends or feeling depressed or whatever I hope we are helping him be mindful. But maybe he is just a shy lad getting used to being the star player/record signing. It's a lot of pressure for him to succeed

I'm a wanker to people if I forget to have a coffee in the morning, since when did we start micro-analysing everything on here?

Having met him, he has very (very) limited English, and is extremely shy - took him a while to warm up during a City 7s event Was a good sport in the end for hundreds of photos, but the first half hour was a bit awkward! Tbh not sure the club should put him into those situations, he looked bewildered by it all! Which makes me wonder how he can throw his shoulders back, puff out his chest, and go and run the midfield in a Premier League game, on a football pitch packed with massive egos. I've always imagined that a footballer so far 'in his shell' would struggle to impose himself.

"The difference yesterday was the excellent Imbula. He was like a Tonka truck that withstood everything and anything we threw at him ... we just bounced off him time and time again!
We ended up doubling up on him which worked to an extent but when it didn't it allowed Stoke's spare man greater freedom to work the ball.
I'd love for us to have a midfield general like him, but given he cost Stoke over £18m I suspect we're a few years away from contemplating spending that much on a player."
Not my words but the words from the supporter of another club's forum, he's definitely got it in him.
Think he needs a big hug.

He can look sublime at times, first half vs Leicester but he just doesn't have the fight or the energy to work in the engine room.

Having spent £18 million on him, everyone at the club needs to make this signing work. We have seen glimpses of what he can do. If it doesn't then he needs to be moved on. I was, however I was a little suspicious that it was reported he wore gloves on the pitch in August.

Can't for the life of me think where we could move him on to. Hasn't got the profile to interest China or the Gulf.
Failed completely in a second-tier European league with Porto, and is failing completely with a mid-ranking Premier League club. 4 and a half years left on, what, £70,000-a-week?
Presumably his reputation is still reasonable in France and Marseille are now quite cash-rich. They could be a good club to target but we'd be looking at losing £10m+ on him. But if they're not interested, God only knows. Outside England, you could count the clubs who could get near his salary on two hands.
Very gifted player who can make certain elements of the game look very easy, but it's abundantly clear he'll never make it here

One could argue it started going wrong the summer we let go Huth and the Fonz.
That almost rhymes and almost scans properly.
Apologies, i shall be ordered to "let it go" but i'm not really here to talk about Huth but about how much i genuinely miss Steven Nzonzi.
I can't move on, meaningless one nighters fumbling around off the ball with younger French central midfielders have left me feeling cheap, used and a little sore.
J'adore Steven! Come back and retain possession for me.

He certainly noticed the shit he was given as he walked down the tunnel today, it did annoy me that he had decided to make the shirt a fashion statement with his collar up when the rest don't! Unless anybody can correct me!
Also on kit they must have found Johnson bigger socks he no longer has holes in them

Unless they have any decent midfielders we could do a swap for?
