Ryan couldn't run for the last 5 minutes of the game and went straight to the physio at the end of the game holding his back. It's time to give him the rest of the season off. There was no need to play him today and we are playing with his career at the moment by rushing him back.

I think we were right to play him today.
No need to play him for rest of season now though.

That's not good re him holding his back!
Not sure why we played him today after he only had 2 training sessions. Should have given him another week to get him, and his back, back up to speed.
Thought he had a decent game though.

Let's wait and see what reaction he has, needed the game today if he us to play a part in the remainder of the season. Thought he was well off the pace on a number of occasions but to be expected.

I guess there'll always be a reaction. He was knackered after running back to make that tackle and was totally out of breath. It is becoming a concern if he hasn't recovered.

Wasn't fit from the off huge mistake by the club and Ryan himself. Season over , now let's get him ready for preseason .

I fear it's worse than we think. I watched him closely during the last ten minutes he was clearly in real pain. Also at the final whistle it looked to me that Walters was consoling him.

Lots of medical experts on this thread that seem to know better than club doctors and physios that work with him every day. He trained all week without any problems and was rightly selected.

Hopefully it's just that he's been rushed back too soon. The club have said before that his recent injury wasn't connected to his back....lets hope that still rings true.

Crazy decision by Hughes to throw him straight back in - should have continued with Muni and give Ryan 20 mins at the end If the game allowed it.......so now he's fucked his back again - not good....

Gone from seeing a specialist to playing with no game since January.
Absolutely daft decision.

Hughes said after that he feared he may have jarred his back but then went onto say he hoped it was nothing major

Adam played an U21 game and has been out for less time this season than Shawcross and he wasn't even on the bench. Shawcross wasn't given any game time to test it out. Don't give me the pony about medical people when Hughes virtually told us he might be forced to use Shawcross in his pre match presser. He's been rushed back and make no mistake.

In hindsight, if we had won, kept a clean sheet and Ryan had come through without a reaction? Of course it's hindsight but why was Hughes saying that he might be forced to use him in his pre match presser as if to be hinting that he didn't really want to? Why use that language if everything was 100% ok?
