*this very much posted in the face of lots of rumour, but they tend to be true if so widespread
Dear Tony
I would like to thank you for your time at Stoke City FC, and the journey you have taken me on for the past 6-7 years
For many, the prospect of Stoke City ever playing again in the top flight was mere fantasy after so long away, but you got us there with a miracle effort in 2007-8 (backed by the chairman it must be said), and by hook or by crook kept us there with some fantastic memories in that first season. The Villa game and Mamas winner will stay with me forever
After that we have been a safe mid table club, 2 Wembley appearances (the first of which was OUR final to be honest), and one of my finest and proudest moments as a Stoke fan, and even losing the final allowed the red and white army there to FINALLY sing Abide With Me and represent the area, alas the injury ravaged team couldnt get over the line
I saw my team take on some of Europes glamour clubs (in competitive football!), something else I never thought I would see unless the Anglo Italian cup came back!
Its not gone so well since, despite keeping us there, and the winds of change are around - you go with my full thanks and gratitude for what you achieved here, and I wish you well whatever you decide to do next.
Hopefully Stoke on Trent will always have a place for you
Simon.

Youve shown me some great times as a Stoke fan. Its a sad day as we didnt get to give you the send off you deserve but i feel its a necessary day to bring an end to this era and start a new one.

Can he please take SJW aswell, joking apart thanks, for a person to put so much effort into something he loves is a true legend in my eyes. He should be given the key to the city ( as shit as it is), there must be a replacement 100% in place.

Massive thanks to Tony.
His two biggest achievements for me were getting us up and then keeping us up in that first season back in the top flight.
He may have often caused me to pull my hair out but he has been superb for the club and I can only send him my sincerest thanks and best wishes for the future.
Good luck in all you do, Tony.

Tony Pulis has left a footprint on this club and his achievements will never be forgotten and I thank him for that. However the time is right for him to go as a bad start next season would have seen ugly scenes at the Brit and the thought of another season of his brand of football in all honestly depressed me, a brand that got us where we are and kept us where we are but was ultimately his downfall. We are now at a crossroads and selection of the new man will need to be a carefully thought process but I for one am again excited about Stoke City's future

A sad day and one that we may regret if we get dragged into the mire next season. Don't get me wrong, it's been a difficult season this time but it could bite us on the arse next season Hope I'm wrong.
Thanks for everything TP.

Still think that he blew the final with his team selections, as he did with a lot of other matches, but at least he kept us in the prem. as I,ve already said on another thread, time to move on. If the rumours are true, that Roberto di Matteo is favourite for the job, a big change In personnel would be imminent in my view. Should be very interesting times!

Emotional roller-coaster indeed. Hopefully, this will all pan out as a "better the devil you don't know" decision.

Thank you for everything Tony
A Stoke legend and thanks for some of the most amazing memories your teams have left me with, even after of a lifetime of supporting Stoke.
The 'great escape' of your first season during your first spell at the club, the promotion season , the fairy tail that was that first season back in the Prem. That glorious semi-final ,the fact we were in a final , those nights of European football. The media recognition and putting us back in the vanguard of football coverage, the names that I could only dream of seeing in a Stoke shirt even a few years ago , amazing times and an end of an era.
It is time for a change , but TP still deserved to leave the position knowing we do appreciate all he's done for this club
