Good Luck Tony. Eternally grateful for what he has done for Stoke City. Best to leave like this with his track record in place. A true legend & I'm sure he would receive a tremendous reception from all the fans for what he has achieved. Also best time for Stoke to make the change. Well done Peter & family - hopefully we have got a good replacement in place.

Love him or not he will go down as one of the best managers (the best in some peoples opinon)and I for one am grateful for some of the best days I´ve ever had as a Stoke supporter. I can still remember the mental after Mammas winning goal in our first premiership game. It is with no little sadness that I wish Tony Pulis goodbye and good luck. Gouranga.

Glad he's gone as the last 5 months were shit. I guess if he was sacked it is a little sad as many happy memories during the last 7yrs but it proves his pigheadedness (no pun intended) in not resigning was his undoing.
Just need a quick quality appointment as sizeable squad changes are needed this summer and early on to ensure they bed in...

*this very much posted in the face of lots of rumour, but they tend to be true if so widespread Dear Tony I would like to thank you for your time at Stoke City FC, and the journey you have taken me on for the past 6-7 years For many, the prospect of Stoke City ever playing again in the top flight was mere fantasy after so long away, but you got us there with a miracle effort in 2007-8 (backed by the chairman it must be said), and by hook or by crook kept us there with some fantastic memories in that first season. The Villa game and Mamas winner will stay with me forever After that we have been a safe mid table club, 2 Wembley appearances (the first of which was OUR final to be honest), and one of my finest and proudest moments as a Stoke fan, and even losing the final allowed the red and white army there to FINALLY sing Abide With Me and represent the area, alas the injury ravaged team couldnt get over the line I saw my team take on some of Europes glamour clubs (in competitive football!), something else I never thought I would see unless the Anglo Italian cup came back! Its not gone so well since, despite keeping us there, and the winds of change are around - you go with my full thanks and gratitude for what you achieved here, and I wish you well whatever you decide to do next. Hopefully Stoke on Trent will always have a place for you Simon. That's probably the best post I've read on the TP out saga It's a sad day, but it was inevitable Lose the fans (a majority of them anyway) and 9 times out of 10 its bye bye I don't hate him, I'm glad he has left, but he will always be a legend We've finished mid table again which is great considering where we were! Goodbye and good luck to the man who made many fans dreams come true!

I would just like to add my ten pence to this one, I have supported TP throughout in the reality that we had to play a certain way to survive in this league, with a view to consolidating us and then to move on. This year he has proved that the moving on bit it is a step beyond for him and I like many others who have changed there allegiances recognized that it was time for a change. I will always be grateful to Tony Pulis along with Peter Coates backing him for giving me some of the best days of my life, he will always be welcome at Stoke city, shame those of us who would want to will not be able to say thanks at a match, it is going to be tough for him as i truly believe his days as a premier league manager could well be over tough to think anyone would want him !!! but who knows he should get an appointment in a lower division hope he doesn't come back to bite us one day !! goarn Tone good luck mate in whatever you do and many many thanks

People who know me will know my views on TP, but today is one of mixed emotions. First of all I would like to thank TP for all bores and draws! Joking aside TP has fulfilled my Stoke City dreams, building a Premiership football club, taking us to an FA Cup Final and gave me the opportunity to watch my beloved club in Europe. All the best in the future and when you return one day, you will get the hero's reception that you truly deserve.

Im absolutely gutted for Pulis and I feel sick. Not gutted that he's going, though of course I do feel a bit of sadness about that.
But I'm gutted how this has all been handled. Going into that last home game we knew we were safe. Could this meeting not have taken place before that game and it have been arranged for Tone to have a proper send off. I know there are plenty who dislike him but surely the whole ground would have and could have given him the appreciation he deserves. He deserved to go with dignity. It feels like he has been kicked out the back door on the quiet, with even the players finding out on twitter. Surely it would have been better for him to have been able to tell them in person and lead them out for an emotional last game.
Michael Owen barely kicked a ball for us and got a proper send off. but Tony Pulis who transformed this club from an odds on relegation candidate to league 1 into a mid table premier league side, gets nothing. It leaves a fucking sour taste in my mouth.
It was probably the right time for Tony to go and I will get behind the new manager whoever he is. But I am fucking gutted I didn't get the chance to show him the appreciation he deserved. Forever grateful.

Best of luck to TP....anyone who says that any manager could have done it with the money is talking through their arse and may want to look at qpr this season!! Given us some astonishing memories that no manager (not even Waddo managed) ever has done before and deserves full respect, gratitude and praise for it! Yes,it's a gamble but so was keeping him on let's face it.let's just all show our thanks to Tone for the years we've had, stop quibbling over this seasons dire fayre (it's done and dusted now) and get fully behind the team and the next management whoever they may be!
There's only one Tony Pulis and i'm genuinely glad we had him but there's tens of thousands of stokies so let's put an end to the endless shit on here from now on and remember we ALL want to see Stoke achieving in the Prem for years to come!!!
Thanks Tone...you will be remembered Sir!
By the way, am i the only one who, despite wanting him to go, had a lump in their throat when they found out it had actually happened earlier?

Good luck in your future endeavours Tone

Thanks for the greatest moments in my supporting Stoke life, so far, Mr Pulis. The Semi-Final, winning 5-0 at Wembley, will take some beating but there were others including the final, the trips in Europe, promotion to the Premiership and even staying in the Championship on the final day.
Regardless of money spent, I don't think anyone can genuinely knock what TP has achieved at this club. To take us from a mid-table Championship team to an established Premier League team its fantastic. For the last few seasons we've been considered the blueprint for teams coming and maybe we were better placed financially to still do what we've done is nothing short of fantastic. Money doesn't guarantee you a Premier League place it also takes some determination and some tactical nous. What we did in the first couple may have been considered simplistic by others but it was us, as the fans, who benefited the most from it. We became the team everyone hated because they always knew they were in for a tough game at the Bearpit. Others came up with irrelevant excuses to explain their failure, like Arsenal, yet TP knew he was winning and we all appreciated it.
Unfortunately expectations do grow and no one can be blamed for this, everyone wants what's best for the club. For me personally I'm gutted TP is going. He's been fantastic for the club and yes this season hasn't lived up to expectations but we've been relatively safe all season. Whoever comes in next season will get my support but TP will go down as legend of this club in my opinion and he deserves gratitude for where he has taken us!

Beautifully expressed, agree with every word. imho this has been in the works for weeks or months and Tone has known that, hence trolling out his cv in every interview. My guess is the new manager was already known around the time of the Villa game and either refused to take over at that point or else Tone was hung out to dry, knowing he'd be forever associated with relegation if we went down and the new manager wouldn't. If that's true it says a lot about Tone's pride that he did manage to turn it round the way he did.

Legend, that Villa game will remain in my memory forever. For him to come back like that after losing his mother displays true class.
For everyone that has gone to lead to this point, the above will remain the most in my memory, along with tonking Bolton at Wembley. Thank you Tony, LEGEND.

I don't know what to say really. Most of it has already been said.
I don't want to believe it, so until the club hasn't officially confirmed it, I'm still positive he'll stay.
I love the man, I really do. I'll never be able to describe how grateful I am to him. He is a Stoke City F.C. Legend, and will always be.

Thanks for everything TP, it's been the years when I've grown up and loved football which you've been in charge. You've taken Stoke to the Prem, to Europe, to Wembley. Incredible. People in school would take notice of Stoke and back them against big PL teams. We were a presence in the PL. And it's down to you.
Now our job as fans is to back the team in this period of transition, give the new guy time and enjoy the Premier League football!
