Not when you've already paid for it. No, I mean it should be free considering how much a season ticket costs. A few years back, if you didn't insure a season ticket booklet, it cost an arm and a leg to get it replaced. The good thing about the new cards is that, because they have to be logged into the computer system to work, then they are of no value to anyone who finds or steals them as, once you report the loss, the card will be deactivated (and won't work the turnstile) and a new card is issued.

It seems there will be a £5 charge for a ticket if you forget your card on a match day. Have you got a link to that bit mate? Are you sure it is not of you lose your card? I ask this because at the last 2 places I have worked and at a local social club they say there is a fiver charge if you lose your card because that is what they cost. Scratch that, just seen the following. What if I forget to take my card to the match? If you forget to bring your card to a match, pop along to the Ticket Office and we’ll give you a replacement ticket for £5. What do I do if my card is lost or stolen? If you lose your Season Card – and fingers crossed you don’t – the Ticket Office can issue you a replacement card for a £10 fee. Visit them in person or call them on (01782) 367599. Read more at www.stokecityfc.com/news/article/201314-club-card-faqs-964271.aspx#fCZoyrFsSAjOLkLj.99 Bit harsh when they can just look on the system to see that you are a st holder. If you wanted to give the ticket to your mate a fiver is hardly a deterrent for a 30 odd quid ticket?

At least if you forgot your book you got the cash back. They will know if you have swiped your card so why no mention of a refund if the card is unused?

The swipe cards will be sent out by second class mail, no queuing at The Royal Mail depot because they don't need to be signed for. if your card doesn't arrive you can notify the club who can immediately cancel it and render it worthless, and they can issue a replacement card with confidence.
I don't understand all the concerns about losing a Swipe card at some stage in the season. I presume that they will be credit card size, in which case I'll keep it in my wallet. If my swipe card goes missing then I will also have lost my wallet. Losing my wallet and all it's contents will be of greater concern to me than paying Stoke City a nominal fee for a replacement swipe card.

will the new style tickets make any difference to people using someone else's ticket?

will the new style tickets make any difference to people using someone else's ticket? I doubt it. Unless the club decided that we all had to carry photo ID with us for matches the cards can be "loaned" to anyone I should think, without the club being any the wiser. The only exception would be that I think they will have spot checks for juniors and over 65s cards being used by an adult.

Had mine this morning. Massive improvement on the out dated book system. Also liking how you can pay for cup matches online or by phone and don't need to pick a ticket up.

For ordinary members who are not season ticket holders there is (obviously) nothing on the card to show what seat they have purchased for a particular match. If people don't note their seat numbers at the time of booking, I forsee match day chaos!

Just followed the link to this - you need the 14 digit number on the back of the new card (rather than your client ref number) and then can set up an account for free. Discounts / offers for non football products and points get added to the card. Worth it if you shop at the places in their system.

Is the 14 digit number simply the client reference number with some zeros added?

its the number above the barcode

its the number above the barcode I would have thought as I had asked the question, that it was quite obvious that I had not received my card and so was not in a position to look at the number above the barcode. Then again, some things are clear to one person and not to another!

I'd still appreciate knowing as it happens.

It's not a swipe card you pass it to an operator and he/she scans it with probably one of them hand held scanners they use in shops.

At the turnstile I used the scanner was fixed in position. It was close enough to the window that I could have scanned the ticket myself if I had been allowed to do so.
