There's a press conference coming up in just over half an hour at 2:00 for anyone intererested.
It'll be interesting to see whether Shawcross get a game, the we'll really see if he has an England future.

No. I think it's a perfectly valid view to take to be honest. He's not once been to watch Crouch or Shawcross. Crouch is the TOP English striker so far this season and yet he's picked Carrol who's hardly kicked a ball - pathetic. so Woy has an anti-Stoke policy still because he's only picked one Stoke player? Crouch not being picked makes sense given that Hodgson has said he's looking to the future and wants more youth in the side, plus the fact that Hodgson said that after the Euros incident he wouldn't pick Crouch unless he saw him as someone going straight into the side. It's not "Pathetic" at all, it's simply football management; Hodgson wants younger players coming through, regardless of lack of goals at the moment the players picked should easily be enough against these two teams (neither are anything close to the standard of Prem games) so it actually makes perfect sense! i honestly think that some on here would still bloody moan and say "Poor ickle Stoke everyone hates us" even if we had 11 players in the England first team and were voted the most popular club to watch on the planet! There's always some bloody excuse for some to be paranoid on here i think its justified. The under 21s have an important game, if it wasnt would Caulker be in the full squad?, lets see what happens for the next squad if Ryan keeps up his league form and other players are available

I don't mind Carroll and think he will be around the England squad for a while but on form and fitness, Crouch should be nailed on.

Roy has stated his intention to get younger players into the Squad and I applaud and support in him in that. However, he has also stated that he wants to select players that are in form and playing games for their clubs. He actually had an enormous rant about England players being reserves at their clubs recently. Well done to him on finally giving Ryan a chance but Carrol's selection just beggers belief when he's hardly played a game since the season started. I'm not anti-Carrol and I think he's got a great future and I'd be picking him myself if he was proven fit and in-form for his club. He was selected for the Euros when he had played very few games at Liverpool and the games he DID play in, he was awful. No wonder Crouch declined the invitation to STAND BY after that. Most would have done the same.

Woy, like the way in which he speaks, is like a fucking big baby! Crouchy should with out a doubt, be in the England set up over that geordie prick. But Woy decides to throw his toys out of the pram because Crouchy, who after all had been a tried and tested England striker, would not fuck all of his summer holiday plans up on the very slim chance that hodge the podge might take it in his heart to give him a run out. As for Caroll, you no what you see when you lift up a pony tail don't you? A fucking big arsehole! Say no more hahahahahahah

Very well deserved. I hope it's not a case of Hodgson covering his bases given the recent Welsh interest, i.e. give him 5 minutes at the end of the game to make sure he can't ever choose to play for Wales.

When was last time a Stoke City player played for Engerland - maybe Mark Chamberlain. Just look at the BBC headline and read it over and over again, 'Shawcross picked for England' - well done lad!

"Shawcross is a player that has impressed me, not only in the past couple of years but certainly the start of this season.
"He deserves a call-up and a chance to show how he can compete with the others" Woy Hodgson (c) 2012

Its a deserved call up but I'm not sure why stoke fans think shawcross is the messiah (refering to most of the comments on here) He is a consistently good performer for stoke but is he as good as terry Ferdinand cahill jagielka lescott, I think not. I hope he gets a chance now terry and Ferdinand aren't playing but don't get your hopes up.
