Fantastic, congratulations Ryan Never has a call up been more deserved, just hope this time around he gets on the pitch too. Would Hodgson throw him straight in to start directly in a World Cup qualifier? Don't think so but if he is on the bench you never know what might happen. Fantastic! Did I say that already... ;D

So seeing as he's coming in for Terry, will he now emulate his predecessor and go and pot the partner of a not long departed left back. Mrs Higginbotham watch out!

Great news!
Would like to think he'll get a good run out against San Marino - but you never know with England.
Great for the lad and great for the club.
Happy birthdee Ryan!

I'm always proud when a Stoke City payer is called up for England and the rarer it is, the greater my pride.
The timing is especially pleasing as I'm about to attend Brian Woolnough's funeral and his wake, where so many of the media will be present. I'll enjoy basking in and promoting Ryan's success and confirming what a decent as well as talented fellow he is, despite the constant snipes at him, from some.
Well done Ryan. Enjoy.

A cut above the rest of those centre backs, too. Go on Roy, get him on the pitch this time.
Well done Ryan. So very richly deserved.

Absolutely delighted Ryan has been called up, totally deserved The forward selections are rather disgraceful though. Welbeck, Rooney and Carroll have yet to score a goal in any competition this season, whilst Crouch has scored 5 in 7 games.

Fantastic news!
Well done, Ryan.
He has been a superb player for 5 solid seasons now and there cannot be another player who has deserved a call up more than our skipper.
Stoke City are proud and honoured to have Ryan as our captain and now representing England.

A big well done, Ryan, from me. Nice to think that Stokies will be waking up to the news all over the world. I'm sure we'll all be rooting for him to get on the pitch this taime and give a good account of himself.
I expect a lot of Gooners will have torn up their England match tickets in disgust! ;D

Agree 100% Should be Crouch and Defoe up front It's frankly bizarre that a player with so little game time (and goals) over the last 12 months is in ahead of Crouch.
