Was at that game, MENTAL! I couldn't get radio reception for this one other than Radio Wales...in Welsh. Could make out was going on by the player names the crowd noise and the commentators tone especially when we scored Very surreal Never seen so many cars and buses damaged, and I mean smashed to bits. I didn't realise how far Swansea was!!! Didn't leave Stoke til after work about 6 didn't get there til halftime. Thrashed a Golf Gti all the way there, missed the M50 went long way over Severn Bridge, Nearly give up at Cardiff and drove back. Got there, thought fuck it, parked on double yellows by a kebab house right by ground. Afterwards, no ticket, not a mark on it. Coming out ground somehow ended up in with Sawansea fans, shit ourselves. Looking to twat Stokies everywhere. Kept our heads down. Got to first services, we pulled on to 'have a minute' and celebrate being alive. There were just loads of Stoke cars and buses all with no windows! Everyone come over to me. 1, to check I had a Staffs tax disc (which I had) and 2, to ask where I'd parked! They couldn't believe it. Hiding in plain site!

In the days before mobiles, the internet etc, I coughingly called into work 'sick' (via an old fashioned 'house phone'), before setting off to Swansea with mates. Maybe about 1993 or so. Midweek game (why is Swans away always midweek?) Imagine my horror to see my boss on the concourse, but he gave me a knowing nod and smile, and I watched I think Gleghorn and Stigger Foley give us a 2-1 away win (Coach next to us windows were smashed by bricks but thats another story!) Went into work knackered as wasnt home until 2am, looked rough, but expecting to be dragged into a room for a bollocking Turns out he was ill and not at work that day too, and we never spoke of it again π Was at that game, MENTAL!

A friend got tickets for the 1988 Vale v Spurs game. The one Jimmy Greaves said, Spurs biggest problem would be finding the ground.
It was a great match, my mate an I were about 16, stood right under the Spurs fans in the railway paddock, they had sold out all the upper I think.
We sided with underdogs and didn't want Southerners win, piss taking the away fans, it was great.

Jamie Vardy. Can't afford him, wouldn't come, I don't even like him, but would be great if he played for you.

On the basis that we generally never do things the easy way, then I have already resigned myself to the loss, it's a coping mechanism I use often. Onto Southampton....... A pessimist is never disappointed.

Going by that Percy article the other day ... the lad hasn't even done all that much wrong. Seems like he gave it back a bit post-Sunderland battering. And then all of a sudden told to find a new club. I heard he's very toxic. I think we have to back the manager and team on this one.

The first goal is definitely offside. (Still shit defending and goalkeeping though) The second is all on Thompson, even if Wilmot and Iversen didn't do well. Horrible positioning and reaction to being caught out. Cundle was awful losing possesion several times, but also set up Junho for the FK leading to the goal. That pass from Million to Ennis (who then missed badly after having a nice first touch) was something I haven't seen in years. 10 out of 10. I was thinking same about the 1st goal, it had to be offside. Which sums our up players they're so naive, they don't appeal! Naive on the ball, getting fouled and trying stay up, when not to foul, when to foul, generally everything. I know were shit and this wouldn't solve much, but it would help and it drives me nuts. They don't even appeal offsides FFS!

You could see second half we came out with a purpose , won loose balls and looking to drive forward. Under Neil we came out half asleep second half in home games Promising bits second half but what the fuck happened first half though. Millwall we're stupid. They no doubt said, new manager stink it out, quieten the bit of lift from the crowd because of the new manager etc.,. And to be fair they tried for 5 minutes after the break but we then finally got on top of them.

THAT GUY (VillaHub) IS A JERK! Take no notice. Well, if Argyle are getting compensation for Schumacher et al, what better way to fund a loan purchase and soften the blow of losing their manager. Chill has to be the word. I agree that could be a good way to spend some cash but there's no way he knows anything, he's a prick.

He wants his back room team to come with him, think PA fans are going to be very upset Good stuff. I'm very interested in the data analyst he'll be bringing with him. I see that Schu is very much a data driven manager, the sort of approach Stoke should've adopted years ago. To be fair, TP told me the amount of time they spent on data, it was a lot, even in his day.

They we're poor, we were poor and I know he's always been quality but we made Barry Bannan look like Pirlo! Barry Bannan had determination and work ethic, by then neil lost the dressing room and the players didnt give a shit. Laurent was letting the ball go out for a throw in towards the end of the first half and Bannan came in, swung at it and kept it in play. - Prime example. Exactly, I didn't mean to do him a misservice either, he was good and like you say he worked very hard.

Gudjon was a great guy. Came out to do charity bike ride from the Brit once. He didn't need to just heard about and came down on a Sunday morning.
Came in the shop a few times with players too. All the icelandics I met were great.
I watched a game with Gudjon in JS upper too. He came back to watch Bajrni I think. Proper down to earth great bloke.

I wouldn't mind Liam Rosenior, not much experience though and doubt we could prise from Hull. I think he is going places, speaks brilliantly too.

In, takes ages turn a tanker around. We've tried Rowett, Jones, and O'Neil they failed though I thought On O'Neil did ok (I would have given him money after he did a good clear out and got FFP back on track.) Neil needs time, it's sometimes hard to tell what he's trying, tactics etc., but if we sack him it's back to square one.

I hopt they don't have to be columns, I think they'd look shite. Just need leave a small gap between standing and where seats start stands are faily steep so shouldn't to be big wouldn't look bad as standing people heads would still be up to sitters height but not obstucting.
I personally would do all lower half of Boothen and all lower half and around corner of the South stand. That sorts out away fans who stand anyway and give Stokies both ends to choose from, help with atomsphere, particularly between block 40 and away fans.
