We have young players, they can adapt. If the were all old players then maybe that would be more difficult but a lot of them are just starting their careers. They will get sharper and more comfortable, they need to make mistakes to learn they will get better Or their confidence will drop and we'll be fucked. Then we'll get a hoofer in and we'll be back to square one. If we rip it up and start again we will just continue the cycle of failing because that's what we have been good at since relegation barring MON. Narcis and his style is a project which has barely started we need to be patient with it and pray it works out. If we start again do you honestly believe we would get it right next time? I just have no faith in this club anymore. Walters has come in with a new plan, changed everything, signed some talented players and put someone in charge of the team he thinks is the man to take us forward. We might be talking about how great this guy is in a couple of months time who knows. If we were going to make a huge change like this it should have happened before the start of the season but it didn't, we are where we are.

How many times did we leave our own half aggressively from the passing about yesterday? I can barely remember.

It begs the question was Schumacher punching with this group of players? He was picking up points despite performances being poor but maybe he knew this team wasn't that good which is why we couldn't attack as much as he would have liked

We played successfully out of defence once, and had one good counterattack. That's it. I remember the counterattack ending with Bae's shot and a couple of times we intercepted and did something but I honestly forgot the time that Narcis' masterplan worked out. I was so fucking bored I basically tuned out after 70-odd mins and started looking up insurance quotes.

All this titfarting around at the back first arrived when Hughes took over after the Hoofball years. I remember Shawcross had not got a clue what to do with the ball when the goalie passed it to him. Didn't work out too badly after that that did it? Having said that we did have the spine of the team to fall back on.

Yeah I'm willing to give Narcis a chance but he has to know that match was an unacceptable performance. Farting around at the back can be useful sometimes and I don't mind it. Sometimes. Not for almost an entire game when you have fuck all clue how to get forwards.

You dont need these fancy tactics, just keep it simple.

I understand but how much time is enough time? Changing the way we play is fine as long as we stand a chance of winning a game and not attempting to do it all in one go that sees us playing as we did yesterday I don't know, I feel we just need to ride it out at least until the transfer window opens. If we haven't improved by January it may never improve. If it's not working we will need to make changes again but with a window open for someone new to use if needed. Hopefully by then everything is good and we start seeing the bright future we are promised We would need to sack by Christmas to be able to bring someone in to assess the players just before the window opens. I really hope this works out but have a bad feeling about it

Like you I am most concerned about the young players, the older ones will ride out the storm. The last thing the younger ones need is to have their confidence knocked by playing unsuitable tactics. On that basis if there is no discernable improvement in the next 4 or 5 games we need to act.

I really feel some sympathy for him. He should have been appointed in summer and everyone would have been behind him?
Especially as loads on here wanted to try a foreign manager. It’s just so hard to do what he is doing at this point. Hope he gets to international break to work on it.

I would give him until the end of the month that's 5 matches to the efl Cup match and allows for the international break. By that time an improvement should show or sadly not

You can't polish a turd. You cannot impose a fast accurate passing game onto the like of Wilmot and Junior. The players capable are at the other end of the pitch but the service is diabolical. Feel for Cannon, he must wonder wtf is going on. Yesterday was past abysmal, all those passes across the back followed by a hoof when Burger and Thompson are static was comical, but not funny!! I have no idea whats happened to Burger and Juhno, they look like they would rather be a million miles away. It could work out in time.......could.

Even if he gets there it'll still be mind numbing to watch. Possession football doesn't have to be boring, it's sometimes good to watch. If your team is winning you don't get bored so easily So like Pulis ball. I find it mind numbingly boring regardless of results and that's when the players are capable, ours just aren't. He needs to listen to his waffle and find a system that fits.

From a business perspective it's best to play possession football. We never sold a player under Pulis for much and hardly any of our players were wanted by other teams. You might not like the new way we want to play but if we get it right players will have a lot more sell on value which will mean more money for the club to spend should we sell them. We're at foundation stage and now we are just building up. Maybe we will become more competitive in the future and there is an actual plan in place that we will eventually reap the rewards from our short term pain

I'd fine any outfield player who passed the ball across his own penalty area, when there was no reason atall to do so.

I've just looked at the average positions of our players, and it was as shocking as watching the whole abysmal horror show itself unfurl. Not one of our players are over the halfway line. Cannon is even further back than Wilmot! Boro had seven of their players over the line. Given Narcis had a week to work his tactics with the players, I expect a lot better than that. A repeat of that against Portsmouth and there will be some hostile noises from the crowd.

What makes it even worse is that there's no movement in midfield to give them an outlet so it just keeps going from side to side until a player gets closed down and it gets hoofed aimlessly This. Same under SS and AN. Opposition quickly suss out the weakness and exploit it time and time again by pressing and harassing the back 4. By the time we do manage to move the ball forward the midfield are slow to make any advantage not helped by forwards not making diagonal runs into space. It really is awful to watch and needs binning even if we have to go route one for a while.

What is not helping is the fact that nobody in this team at the moment has the heart or balls to play forwards on a continuous basis. Too scared of losing the ball so we fanny around at the back, which very quickly mean the advanced midfield/front three stop making runs/getting into space and the deep lying midfielders retreat further and further back to get the ball. In simple terms we don’t have the players in defence or midfield o play this way and if we continue it is only going to get worse. It’s utter madness
