Diao did a decent job. Affelay too. Also depends what you’re defining as a midfielder. Shaquiri was a wide midfielder frequently. Ireland? Lawrence? I long for the days when we fielded shit midfielders like those who made us Premier League fixtures. So yeah it is attention seeking bollocks. As per usual. Diao in the PL? 🤣🤣🤣nah do me a favour. Afellay most will agree with you. I like Ireland but overall he barely played, had too many bad games and was underused. He didn’t work out here. Lawrence was a winger not a central midfielder. Adam was generally awful but scored the odd cracker. How did all these substandard midfielders: A) get us promoted B) make us an established PL side C) get us closer to winning an FA cup than any previous or post Stoke side D) produce some of the best performances the club has ever seen That’s a lot for three good central midfielders (even though you didn’t actually specify this - because you knew it would get more reaction) to achieve. |

For all the hype over Burger I’d fancy Whitehead and Cameron to completely obliterate him. Sad but true. |

Clucas in his first two seasons is all I can really argue for since we’ve been relegated. Clucas first season when he scored loads? I just remember thinking he was good for the one season. But tbh I’ve banished a lot of it from my mind. Think Mikel might get some arguments for but I really didn’t like him for most of his time here. I’m struggling to even name people that haven’t played for us past the last 18 months. |
