Who is paying Baker's wages whilst on loan at Blackburn? He's on decent money so the fact it's only a loan suggests we are still paying a percentage of his wages, how big or small is anyone's guess.

Well done SS, another squad filling bottler gone. All smiles and tricks when we are on top but goes into hiding when the chips are down, which was more often than not. Probably never had to wash his shorts for the time he has been here. Can't argue with his goals as we have been short of those but as a combative midfielder he was less than useless. Never held down a place under successive managers - tells you a lot.

Unless they have coughed up a loan fee they will probably be paying his full wages. Good luck to him, I just hope he has a couple of wank games v Stoke Gouranga.

I always liked Baker but couldn't really work him out. On his day he's one of the best in the league and probably good enough for the Prem. But those days just don't happen often enough. It's frustrating because he clearly has some real ability. Wish him well, seems like a nice chap

Never held down a place under successive managers - tells you a lot. To be fair, he was playing injured for a while. And there do happen to be plenty of players who only play well when the team they're in is playing well - it's not always about going hiding. They're obviously not much help when we're not playing well. Given it's looking like we'll be more competitive this season, I think he's our loss and Blackburn's gain. But maybe he wasn't happy to sit on the bench and will get more game time at Blackburn.

Erm fair enough - but who is this combative amazing midfielder that is gonna run the show when the chips are down - that we have just bought??? I mean I totally hear ya point, I just dont see anyone else in the squad that matches your description as well as getting the goals that Baker did. I really think Shumacher has signed a lot of technically nice players that could win games by a few goals, but have zero bottle and will cave in against a few high balls and hard tackles in midfield. We hardly look like NASTY STOKE of the Pulis years do we under SS?

I'll pay good money to see you say that to Lawals face As for goals, we've got Cannon, Koumas, Million,30+ goals right there Lots more goals this season

I dont yearn for Tony Pulis days at all - but yeah he knew how to mix the fighters with the ballers in a team.

I'd suggest he didn't really or at least a lot of the time he didn't get the ballers in I think nearly all Championship teams are more or less the same now, can only see Wednesday and Millwall being proper physical Get the ball down and play round them Set piece defending yes that's an issue Lawal and Gallagher will be important there I think sides will be worried about our attacking threat now

Baker's loss is the greatest shame of the three from midfield.
Talented for sure, but somewhat of a good time Charlie.
Probably not physical enough now either.
Best of luck to him.

Now we know we didnt get cundle its a strange decision we are a tackle away from relying on thompson . Buurger .sidibe Lawal or pearson for creativity three from that lot creates very little and scorwd even less
