Slightly disappointed in this. Not sure there is any evidence of a bad attitude, I think successive managers just bottled playing him. Including the one that signed him. Need to replace his goal threat.

Need to replace his goal threat. The evidence is he's fallen out with most of his managers at most of the many clubs he's been at He's not been a mainstay at any of his clubs for very long Definitely a goal threat, set pieces too but also frustrating given he can be simply not in games too often

I think it's just bollocks. Though, I'd have fallen out with Neil if I was him to be fair.

I like how we’ve done this as a loan, because it means the bugger can’t dispatch one from 25 yards against us if we’d let him go on a free.

For me he should be starting or coming on in most games. He creates and scores goals. I really find it strange how we've not used him to his advantage.

For me Baker was always the hit and miss man, just not quite good enough and there must be a reason along with Laurent and Johnson that we've been propping the table up. I hope the newer fresher incumbents can push us back up the table. The people we've let go and are letting go weren't capable of doing that and that's the bottom line.

Stating that if a player is being off loaded to different clubs by his parent club, then clearly there is something not 100% with him? Baker does have the talent but the attitude may not necessarily back it up? No one except the players and playing staff knows what goes on behind closed doors? Out of Baker DJ & Laurent, Baker is the better player but could still be a thorn in the new side? I strongly suspect Cundle will sign today?

Not sure I’d have got rid of Baker.
Decent player and he’ll do well for Blackburn.

He’s obviously a good player but Schumacher clearly wants an energetic midfield who can press. I’m fine with that approach and wish Baker well.
There’s no point stockpiling players who may be of use. I get we’ve been spoilt for choice in recent years in having absolute wasters to try and shift, but most normal clubs have these difficult decisions about useful players

I like baker and think we might live to regret this.
He worked hard in preseason and I thought he was adding that physicality and workrate to his game and he was getting into the box a lot more (see Coventry)
I can’t help feel there was abit of a clique that Schumacher didn’t like (Campbell, Laurent &Baker).

I agree with you there seemed something he didn’t like probably re how hard they tried and prefers young hungry players?

It could be true but equally, it could just be a symptom of the Chelsea policy of hoarding young players and using them to generate an income from loan fees.

Baker had goals in is locker i just cannot see the point in l letting him go for nothing, surely we could have squeezed £500,000 off the Gallagher deal for him,

I feel like most have been watching a different player to me. I’m not disappointed to see him go at all.
Yes he offered the goal threat but that was it, he was lacking in every other aspect you need to be a proper CM.

I’m torn between the fact he could definitely still offer us something, and, there’s a reason why he’s been at so many clubs.

Who do you folks think our dead ball specialist is going to be now? He was good at freekicks around the area and penalties. And that's it. His general freekick and corner delivery was shite and the least said about that 'shot' on Saturday the better. Whether he was in a 'bro's clique' or not he just isn't the type of player that Schumacher wants so best get his wages off the books now so that they can be spent on a player who will play. Edit - Like Cundle.
