We'll have a really good bench as well as starting 11 when everyone is fit. Gouranga.

Looks like Gooch left in a brace so will be out for a while.
Thought it should have been a yellow for the challenge on him by Mcechran. Looked pretty reckless.

How long does Phillips have to rest for? 14 days? So he'll miss next two games, back for Portsmouth? Pity as I think he could be our best defender once he gets established.

Later in the FA booklet here - www.thefa.com/-/media/cfa/global/files/2023/the-fa-concussion-guidelines.ashx - suggests enhanced care settings return might be 6 days. "In some circumstances (such as Professional Clubs, International teams and Academies) there may be a enhanced level of medical care available which allows closer supervision of a player’s care and graduated return to play (GRTP). In these instances, a shorter timeframe for return to play (RTP) may be possible, but only under strict supervision by the appropriate medical personnel as part of a structured concussion management programme" Surely we have the facilities to expedite this? How long is Gooch out for has he had a scan or whatever?

How long does Phillips have to rest for? 14 days? So he'll miss next two games, back for Portsmouth? Pity as I think he could be our best defender once he gets established. It depends whether the medical staff assess him as showing signs of concussion or not. Simply being subbed off in itself doesn’t trigger the concussion protocol. When players get subbed off for head injuries these days it’s often precautionary as it’s difficult to make a quick judgment on the severity of the issue. They’ll then have a full assessment where the medical staff will decide whether or not they’re showing signs of concussion. If they are then the protocol is applied. If they’re not then they’re free to continue playing immediately.

I also noticed Stevens didn't reappear for the second half last night. Hopefully just easing him back in slowly rather than yet another injury to add to his massive growing ongoing list.

www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/stoke-city-injury-news-middlesbrough-9585084 “ Ben Pearson is going to be a long time, he’s been reinjured and it’s not going as it should go so we’ll need to wait for him. It’s going to be a long time until he comes back. “ Bosun Lawal is going to come back quicker but we cannot speculate. We’ll just be patient with him.” “I can’t give you an exact time (on Gooch) but it will be longer than we would like. He’s a good player and I’m looking forward to coaching him and having him in the squad. He’s good around the place as well. It will be a little while yet.” Ashley Phillips will miss the Middlesbrough game as he continues to observe concussion protocol But Sam Gallagher will be available to make his debut, probably from the bench “He’s not at his best level from a physical point of view, of course, having spent weeks out but he’s ready to come back and he’ll be involved. The minutes are limited for him of course but I expect to see him and if he’s needed to play and help the team he will do it.” Andrew Moran is also on standby to be reintroduced after being laid low by a bug “He’s over the illness, he’s back and I’m very happy to have him. He’s a very good player and he will give us lots of things. I really like the profile of the player we have here with him, young and energetic, wants the ball. I think it’s a player who will give us lots of good attributes.”

Lawal is an absolute joke of a signing, today's news is still don't know when.
Given this injury was picked up during his medical and therefore before we actually signed him is an absolute joke.
Any more crocks in January SJW ?

Worryingly doesn't seem to be anything imminent with Lawal A common injury in cricket and in some cases can take 9/12 months to fully heal. There's very little treatment you can give, just a lot of rest sadly.
