What’s genuinely amazing (not) is how quiet this thread has been since we have seen an upturn in form and the general mood around the place. Some posters will be genuinely disappointed if Walters proves a success. But it’s ok, they’ll find others to take the credit instead. What genuinely amazing is how quiet Walters went when we looked goosed. Hopefully he'll wind his neck in a bit now when we are doing well and just get on with his job. Don’t you think he’s been getting on with his job? Don’t the performances, the players words and the general vibes around the place suggest he has?

Don’t you think he’s been getting on with his job? Don’t the performances, the players words and the general vibes around the place suggest he has? I hope he does well as it means Stoke will. But I'll be honest and say I thought he handled Schumacher appallingly and I began to get the impression he's a bit of a big head. In some respects maybe the initial scare that NP might drown might have humbled him somewhat. Either way up the potters 👍

At the end of the day, we're 13th in the league.
I'd probably be happy enough with that at the end of the season, which is more a testament to how poorly we've done in the last 7 years than anything else. It's hardly anything to celebrate though is it?
I trust that they're working very hard in the background, and do think Pelach is the right man for the job, but it's still on a knife edge for me.

Tbf it’s like anything isn’t it - unfortunately we’re more motivated to pass comment when we feel negatively about things. Match threads are always way more active when we’re playing badly compared to when we’re playing well.

They think that because he is an ex-player, there was favouritism when he was given the job. Not that he was qualified. Like I said. Someone getting on.

My main criticism of Jon Walters is that he stuck with a lame duck manager over the summer then fired him after 5 mid-tabling games, and he blew the summer budget on players he knew were injured.
Was I supposed to come on here and say well done Jon after we won a couple of games?
Is there a John Coates thread too so we can give him a pat on the back, or does this just apply to Walters?

He’s still got a lot to prove and no one, absolutely no one, wants him to fail. They wanted him to shut the hell up and stop giving interviews and he’s done that. Fair play.

You've made your mind up that he's Saint Jonny Walters who can do no wrong, and can't wait to rub peoples' faces in it after a few good results. At least you're consistent but don't pretend you're better than others or aren't pushing an agenda of your own.

Find me one post where I’ve said anything positive about Walters impact. I’ve said he’s trying. I’ve said over and over (as many have) that’s it’s impossible to judge this early on. That’s my opinion. We don’t know. We won’t know for a while yet. What I find amusing is the posters who are quick to blame him for anything bad but slow to suggest he might be at least partly responsible for any good stuff. To be clear I DON’T KNOW if he’s been a success so far…..and I don’t know how anyone really can. I’m all for open and honest debate but as I said before there’s a huge whiff of agenda off several posters who obviously didn’t like him as a player, have issues with him as a person, and are keen to put the boot in. I liked him as a player, don’t know him as a person and want him to be a success as a DoF. I’m not rubbing anyone’s faces in anything other than taking the piss out of posters who are so transparent in their dislike for Walters that it’s embarrassing.

I think he's great and a real positive influence at the Club.
He's brought in a positive continental coach who looks like he's got a plan.
He's done a couple of rally the troops speeches that inspired.
Ste was a dour, straight faced scouser who was being swamped in his own personality.
Bring it on SJW.

Maybe try making sure they’re going to be ready to play football sometime soon. Your biggest signing of the summer still not having set foot on a pitch in a competitive game is kind of shit.

But we still decided to crack on with the signing thinking it a risk worth taking. Obviously the jury's out on the one still.
