Not watched any of the Euros but I can't imagine the comms being any better than premier league games or whatever domestic league is on live.
But what i've done for years is only turn the channel on as the game kicks off..flick over to something else at half time for 15 mins and then turn off after full time whistle.
Can't stand all the punditry crap and "build up" to a game.

I'm getting a bit bored of the same pundits with the same repetitive drivel. Especially with all this best mates nonsense. Richards massive grin and theatrical laugh is beginning to irk me. Keane has gradually evolved into an absolute tart, culminated by his recent 'hiding' video. He's now in stark contrast to how he began in punditry. Dull Danny Murphy offers nothing of value. I thought the female commentator yesterday offered more than him tbh. Lineker neverending shit banter. Best pundit I've seen all Euro 2024 so far is Cesc , as he hasn't bean beaten into a whimpering arse kisser yet. Worst pundit is smug Shearer.. First half, all he spoke about was the unselfish work of Harry Kane for the England team. Half time pitch analyser Joe Hart praises Declan Rice and his unselfish but vital work for England sat in front of the back four. Within 5 minutes of the 2nd half and co commentator Alan Shearer suddenly points out to the viewers his praise for the work Declan Rice is doing.. pathetic Shearer, get a mind of your own and stop grinning at Lineker like a daft little kitten. |

Kolo Toure twice appealed for offside for goals we scored v him from throws if going down the above route. For Man City and Arse both in theFA Cup, both Rory throws, both headed straight in by Fuller . Not just fans

Agree on the whole with comments made here.
But just to balance things up a bit I do rate Pien Meulensteen as a commentator. & have always thought Jacqui Oatley was quite good with her sports coverage over the years.
Karen Carney, Eni Aluko & Lianne Sanderson as pundits really do wind me up. Just annoying and never offer anything interesting..

Most of them are shit, male and female. I absolutely can’t stand Andy Townsend, next time he’s on, record him and play it back later. It often makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Rio Ferdinand is just as bad.
Favourite ex-player currently commentating is Efan Ekoku, talks a lot of sense and doesn’t rabbit on incessantly using stupid out of context sound bites

Mate when we were defending for our lives in the prem we were just a negative team and "parking the bus" But nowadays it is perfectly acceptable, or even tactically astute to play a "low block" Which as far as I can see means "parking the bus"?? Oh good! Another thread complaining about female commentators (many of which are indeed not very good) when the vast majority of male commentators are also rubbish. Can we not just have a thread complaining about the quality of the commentary in general instead of singling out the women all the time? There a handful of decent commentators, some male, some female. Same goes for pundits. Also it's pretty subjective - I really enjoy Shearer as a co-commentator but many find him annoying. I also think Alex Scott is a great pundit, but again many find her annoying. Let's stop blaming it on gender like we're still stuck in the 70s eh?
