Gooch as no.10? Thought he was a full back? What was that all about? Energy in the press.

He picked the team and system, motivate and plan. All on him No one was complaining about the team bar gooch before kickoff and rightly so, the line up was fine. And although it was a meh game the plan was fine in the first half until the players decided to give up in the second. The manager can't plan for so many awful performances. Our starts to the second half this season have been dreadful.

Knee jerk reaction ? It wasn’t great but we’re tenth with the same amount of wins as half the league ? Deserves the sack ? Behave This thread can be binned as far as I'm concerned, it's pointless deciding on a verdict after every game, Schumacher is here to stay, end of. We were shite today but we're going to have some games like that, that's just football.
It's boring to read the same shite every other week, we win and suddenly we have this amazing young team and manager who are taking us into the playoffs, we lose one and it's time to sack the manager.

I have this reoccurring thought whenever I watch us play - What is the game plan?
And if you know, please let our players know because they don’t seem to have a fucking clue.

Comparing this back over the previous 6 seasons in the Championship, what's so frustrating is that I feel now we have better / more exciting individual players in most areas now.... but ultimately the end result with games and scorelines like this afternoon is the exact same. Naive tactically from the manager and lightweight performances with some frustratingly clear and obvious flaws. Overly one dimensional.

If Schuey has run out of road I wonder what happens next? I suppose if John Coates still has faith in Jonathan Walters then Walters gets to make the next managerial pick. It would all be very disruptive though. Interesting thought. If JC has given the keys to the sweet shop to SJW does SJW make the HC call and then tell JC what he's going to do? Or wait for JC to call SJW and tell him to recommend a new manager? Either way we're still a long way off that situation yet, but the direction of travel needs to be upwards PDQ.

Only one game but that was garbage today. For all the quality we like to think we have going forward, we created absolutely nothing against a team recently promoted from league 1. Simply not good enough.

Even ETH for Man Utd was under pressure today, bang 3-0. That’s how you do it. Only watched the last ten minutes today but that was as bad as it gets against bloody Oxford. Garbage.
I never want or ask for a manager sacked but we need be ruthless. Play like that in the next two games and get sacked simple as that

Simply not good enough. Not only one game though. Coventry pleasing but we were poor second half. Watford woeful. WBA woeful. Plymouth could have gone either way (they're poor too) Oxford dreadful. Three dreadfuls, two okays.

I can’t work out if we’re a young team that will have some exciting moments and some poor ones like today, or if we are just on the same old road to nowhere with a manager who doesn’t quite know what he’s doing from week to week. It’s like the week off has killed us and given him time to tinker and he’s tinkered badly. On top of that, some players are completely off it.

Gooch as no.10? Thought he was a full back? What was that all about? I think that highlights how weak our midfield options are atm. We definitely took a long term view in the transfer window but with Pearson and Lamal looking as if they will be out until Christmas we are struggling for a bit of aggression in midfield. Thompson coming back from injury was obviously not fit for more than 30 minutes so Gooch was the only other option. In my opinion we should have gone with the Plymouth line up with Cannon for Mmaee but I think Oxford would have been too strong then. The game started as a battle for the midfield which we would definitely have lost if our midfield had been Moran, Burger and Junho. With Koumas obviously not fully fit it made sense to move Junho over to the left and bring in Sidibe but we didn't have any one to replace Moran who wasn't fully fit either other than Gooch.

You could say that he talks the talk but doesn’t do the walking, but, I have to say that I don’t think he even talks the talk that well either. Stoke seem to have a habit of picking managers who fail to inspire players or fans alike. The evidence of that was very clear today. He’s had a generously funded window now and enough time but the product hasn’t improved. Sorry to say but the perpetual SCFC Managers Ticking clock has been set in motion again. Piss poor Today. Really piss poor.

It’s like the week off has killed us and given him time to tinker and he’s tinkered badly. On top of that, some players are completely off it. Sadly it's starting to feel very much like the latter. If he goes on to lose the next few games I think he's toast. Which I sincerely hope isn't the case. At that point point it's "same old, same old' and another couple of seasons are wasted. It feels like we keep "giving people time" - both managers as players - but all that actually happens is, they get worse.

I have this reoccurring thought whenever I watch us play - What is the game plan? And if you know, please let our players know because they don’t seem to have a fucking clue. Ask the Head coach. After today, that title is a laugh. Oxford looked like a team that were coached well. A team who had a plan, & were able to execute it. That's after losing arguably, in my opinion, their best midfield player. They played like they knew what they were doing. That's down to coaching. Schumaker (sp) will blame the players.

I'm 50/50 on him too but today isn't on him for me.
