Carter Pinnington sounds like the main victim in an episode of Midsomer Murders.

Didn't he leave Vale in the deadline? Southampton signed him. Healthy Stokie contingent they've got there now! Brereton, Ramsdale and this lad all born in/around Stoke. Plus they have Harwood-Bellis

Didn't he leave Vale in the deadline? Southampton signed him. Surprised they didn’t loan him back to Vale for the season to be honest as it looks like he’ll be in Southamptons u21s for the season.

Surprised they didn’t loan him back to Vale for the season to be honest as it looks like he’ll be in Southamptons u21s for the season. Lots of Vale fans had him as third or fourth choice behind Tolaj, Stockley, and Paton. My Vale mate said he’d probably benefit from the time being coached and developed by an elite academy for a year or two, rather than being flung in down there.

From what I saw of the game, England dominated possession but didn't create too many clearcut chances. Only saw the first Portugal gaol which caught both centre backs napping. Sol played some lovely balls and showed excellent control. For his age he's exceptional and with added bulk could be some player. Dixon looked very good too and is almost a bit nonchalant at times but always comfortable. As he's predominantly a centre back it'll be interesting to see how he grows or whether he stays at right back (or both).

I think he got booked for a brilliant tackle! The deep lying role seems so easy for him, the time he has!

Just a thought mind. The step up is bigger than most would want to admit.

Vale’s academy has probably generated them more money than anything else in the last 5 years.
They’ve had plenty of kids nicked from them by the bigger clubs.
As well as ones they’ve bought through and played.
It’s been a decent success story for them.

Indeed And yet they keep signing lots and lots of players from elsewhere, just think given they don't have the resources to attract decent players and they have a good youth set up they should use their youngsters far more

Looks a great player already. Love how when he passes he passes it INFRONT of the player thus encouraging them to move forward. A massive bugbear of mine with our team is how we pass to the man which just slows the momentum
