You don’t think it’d be better to start with better players from the off? Always seems like a sensible plan to me? If you saw the game you'd have seen we started very well, dominated everywhere for the opening 30 minutes or so. Plymouth came into the game and pushed us deeper for 30 minutes or so but the midfield and defence were well organised and didn't give too much away. Sidibe came on and did a great job pushing us forward He's a unique talent being used very wisely. He's a very good player, have a bit of patience, he will play an important role this season. And I did see that and then we let that slip away. There’s no need to be patient.

And I agree. I don’t think 25 league starts would burn him out. It’s really reasonable. And that’s best case presuming he doesn’t get injured or lose form which is admittedly probably fanciful. I just want the shackles of this club to released. Everyone seems so cautious and I hate it. You are utterly ridiculous. You want the shackles thrown off? Schumacher has named the youngest league side in the club's history today, but you're not satisfied because he hasn't thrown a 17 year old boy from the start as well. Well he did have the bollocks to throw that 17 year old on at 0-0 with 25 minutes to go and he was rewarded with Sol giving the assist for our winning goal. Just let the manager get on with it. It's a difficult job handling and nurturing young talent, but he seems to be doing a really decent job of it at the moment. That didn’t take bollocks.

Sol is an exceptionally talented player and his introduction saw us wrestle control of the game.
Bayern is absolutely right. He should have played more than he has. Hopefully he’s a regular starter from here on in.

He should have been played over Laurent since the start of season. However I can see him be involved in majority of games this season. He's a fantastic talent which we need to use but need to remember he's just 17.

It’s refreshing and exciting. Reminds of that Bolton team that surged to the Premier League with the likes of McAteer.

Hopefully he’s a regular starter from here on in. I don’t agree Dave. He’s 17 and just played 90 minutes up in Middlesbrough. Literally the other end of the country. Schumacher clearly rates and trusts him but he needs to be managed carefully. I think Schumacher gets plenty wrong but this is one he’s nailed so far.

As I thought, you didn't see the game. The midfield improved when he came on. 🤣🤦♂️ The entire game was over hit or under hit final passes. He came on and played 4 or 5 inch perfect passes, 2 of which into Manhoef set hi, through as they were perfectly weighted, technically he’s better than the others we’ve seen. He should be starting after the international break, not necessarily every week as he’s growing into the sport but more than Burger, Thompson and, until they prove otherwise, the 2 new lads.

Is this a new trend we're seeing where so many young players throughout the league are children of former players, or has this always been a thing?
Maybe it's just a sign I'm getting older that so many of the players I remember from 20y ago now have kids playing. Whereas the father's of players from 20y ago were from before my time?

Not really sure but John Terry is definitely Shaun Wright-Phillips' Dad ... 😉

There is no need to rush him and place too much stress on him physically, and mentally, at this age. He’s 17 and not fully developed on either front at this stage. There is always clamour to get young players of this quality into the side as early as possible, and often their ability justifies it, what’s missed when this happens is the long term best interests of the player. Nobody on this board is qualified to say whether or not Sol can handle it, the manager, his staff, and Sol (and probably Mama) are best placed, and I think as you say they are being cautious and I commend them for that.

Again- didn’t look at all out of place when he came on. Should’ve come on earlier as felt Mmaee offered little and there were time they played through midfield too easily- albeit though Burger did his best to keep them at bay.

There's a super player in him. Provided he's nursed through these early years and we don't sell him, he's going to become a legend like his dad.
OS.

Hahaha I thought exactly the same thing. Can’t take it seriously. I once received a CV in Comic Sans and I didn’t even bother to read it - it might’ve been the perfect candidate but they blew it completely.

Just watched a little bit, looks like Dixon playing inverted?
He's found himself quite far forward and central a couple of times.
Lovely timed tackle by Sol on the halfway line too to stop a break.

Dixon was lax for that second... seemed to be, should have had an assist for a 3rd but the forward missed a sitter really.
