Did you go last night Newstead? The result surprises me with the signings Hanley have made, still a long way to go and Wythenshawe Town are a good side!
I'm off to Leek today for the visit of Stockton Town, I am not really sure how Leek will fare this season as we have lost over 50 goals from last season!

Wythenshawe were sharper and brighter , with George Boyd amongst them. Looking forward to next Saturday.

Rob Stevo went with Tricky to Hednesford for the cash and by non league they are paying them big bucks, Tom Carr has moved up 2 steps to Chorley in the national league north and lastly Aaron Opoku has moved to Stafford Rangers

Went my first ever Non league match tonight. Hanley Vs Nantwich. Really enjoyed the experience and felt you were properly contributing towards the club.
As for the game Nantwich looked by far the better team and played some decent football, especially down the left side and were 3 - 0 up at half time. Hanley looked like they just tried hopefully balls forward to Pope to had no influence on the game at all.
Hanley came into it after grabbing a goal but Nantwich never really looked like they were going to throw it away.

A 5-0 loss for Stafford Rangers away at Congleton Town tonight, what can I say, after relegation last season I had hoped for a better season this time around.
I went to the game last Tuesday as we drew 2-2 with Newcastle Town, and honestly Town looked the better side, Dave Cooke has had an absolute mare putting this side together, it’s all over the place. We will do very well to not drop again.
From Conference (National League) in 2007 to one step above the Midland League in 2024 is some bloody achievement.

Witton cruise past South Liv and we get crushed at home?
A sad day in Maryland Towers.
Come on Vics, I only have so many FA Cups left in me at this point.

Hanley were better than us 1st half Saturday should of been 2 up. Awful FA Cup draw too. Bottom 6 side this lot. I like Burns who has a go but don't see much more tenacity in the side.

It’s odd to me because Stafford is easily large enough to sustainably support a conference/league two club. I’m sure it’s as large than many towns which have had even higher division clubs. I know you have all the big West Midlands clubs to the south, and Stoke City to the north, but then you could make a similar argument for many clubs currently in league two. Accrington is smaller than Stafford, and is literally walking distance to Blackburn/Burnley. Crewe’s entire built up area is barely larger than Stafford and look at the relative success Crewe Alex have had over the years!

Your right and at this point it just has to be down to how badly run it has been, last time we got relegated to this league In 2014 we appointed a good up and coming manager in Neil Kitching who had success with Rushall Olympic, he won the league in our second season, and after a few seasons of mid table finishes in the league above we basically cut his budget and binned him off, it’s been failure after failure since apart from one 8th placed finish a few seasons ago. We should have kicked on again but it just sums the club up, bad decision after bad decision. I just don’t see anyone at the club who has the knowledge to make a bold decision to fix things.

I will have to get to a game soon, I take it you're from Leek too?

No not from Leek mate, live in Cellarhead and like a drink in Leek, from a football point of view it's an easy place to get to for me and nowadays I much prefer non League so Leek it is! I did live a 3 minute walk from Hanley town many years ago but never went as I had a season ticket at Stoke!

I did live a 3 minute walk from Hanley town many years ago but never went as I had a season ticket at Stoke! I live in Weston Coyney but Leek born and bred and my Saturday afternoons in the late sixties and early seventies were spent at Leek or Ball Haye Green when Stoke were away. Went the game last night v Mickleover and thought that Leek need to adjust to the pace of the higher division. Once they do I think they will be ok for a mid table finish. Replacing Rob Stephenson and Trickett - Smiths goals will take some doing though. A couple of decisions didn’t go their way thanks to an over officious liner for what would have been Leeks second goal ( dubious offside decision) and a penalty that should have been given but wasn’t. I haven’t had a season ticket at Leek this season but have my Stoke one still so won’t be watching Leek on Saturday but will be going Matlock on Easter Monday.

I spent many years travelling to Stoke from Leek for home games, I now live in Trentham, can walk to home games and spend some saturdays travelling back to Leek for my football fix. I will get a season ticket for Stoke eventually if/when work commitments calm down a little, but being able to rock up at 2.55pm park for free and watch the game with a beer in hand is much more appealing. Plus if Leek lose it's not so serious and less damaging to my weekend mood (and wallet).

Gates have dropped a bit and not as prevalent on Social Media as they used to be? Still got some good players at the club though.

Not sure mate, there was 330 there today which is a good crowd for them, but usually they only get around sub 200? They had a couple of solid players from Leek and to add to that they signed Pope and Ollie Haywood from Chester...so really not sure what's going on, it's a tough league that's for sure!

Went to Clitheroe v Wythenshawe Town ended 0-0 and decent crowd 946. Wythenshawe Town are a very big side side it was like a team of bouncers very physical but not dirty they also had George Boyd ex Burnley now 38 dictating their play score was fair, plus a 5ft 4 Ref who far from little man syndrome he was very good (EFL ref should take note).

Yes mate, step 4 it's the same league as Hanley town and Newcastle, Kidsgove etc all attracting around the 200 mark, Hednesford regularly touch a thousand and over but 2620 is superb👌

Anyway, the point I'm trying to get at is in Jan 23 I was at Macc Leek and there were over 4,000 there.

Sorry my mistake it's the same level as Leek last season Hednesford should have been relegated but we're given a stay of execution due to Marske united folding in the northern premier premier league, so they re jigged the leagues numbers!
