Yeah Hednesford do have cash, apparently they had a striker last season who was on a fair bit of Dosh for non league, they should have been relegated as they finished second bottom so I can only presume another team coming up went bust or didn't meet the criteria? Just found out Hednesford avoided relegation because Marske united resigning from the league half way through last season so the best team that had best record that finished second bottom in all four divisions stayed up... This was one of the reasons, although we only got the last reprieve spot due to Stowmarket town taking voluntary relegation as they were offered marske towns spot but decided to drop down a level.we have new owners now who are putting a huge amount of money into the club at the moment.spending money on good wages for what on paper look very good signings but also they are spending a heck of alot on ground renovations at the moment which needed doing and also getting our youth academy back up an running which our previous owners in there wisdom completely shut down and all the players moved to local clubs.very exiting times after a few years of real uncertainty.we will be expecting to be atleast around the play offs hopefully but having only kept 5 players from last seasons squad, and currently only having 10 players in the squad it is going to take time to gel another new team together.its going to be a very tough league this year, alot of teams like chasetown and staylebridge have strengthened really well and now leek have got promoted there is no stand out team this season. Sounds promising mate, I know you must have offered Dan Trickett Smith a few quid to prize him away from Leek..although this last season he has struggled with a knee injury so fingers crossed for you and him, he's a stand out player in that league! I think it will probably be the most competitive league this next season as many teams have recruited well! Hanley for instance have signed Grocott and Keenan from Leek 2 players that could walk into any team at that level and many above! It's going to be a cracker!!

Anyone know when the fixtures are announced for leagues such as NWCL and Northern Premier League? Nothing announced at the NWCFL AGM on the 15th June, but it should be soon, the league starts on the 27th July.

I amd many Alport fans long for the NWCL, the Midland League although a similar standard, the teams and fans are a tad unfriendly. Even their website is appalling

Even their website is appalling They finished 7th last season, 6th would have got an FA cup place and 5th the play offs, lost 2-0 at home to New Mills in the last home game, New Mills had been rock bottom with Winsford but threw money at a new team to drag themselves out of it, they were winning 4, 5 and 6 some games, must have been players from a far higher standard. It would be good to see Whitchurch back in the NWCFL.

potterinleeds & staffordstokiemad1 looks like Leek have signed a player from your good selves...Tyreece Onyeka! What's he like? Seems to have been in and out the Stafford team last season, will he be a good signing for us? We have apparently signed Aaron Opoku from Leek, is he any good?

He is a very good forward, strong skillful and should score some goals given a run in the side up front which he never really had the chance at Leek and...he is also a very good center half where he played the last 4/5 games for us as we were short and he was mustard! I actually would prefer him at the back which I believe he started his career!!

I feel a feint allegiance coming on. To be fair I was born there, at Stepping Hill. Edit: If any of you run into Northwich Vic’s whilst you’re out, I’d rather you not mention this to them. Just saying.

I wouldn't worry, the chairman's son is this seasons Witton U18's manager, who I know quite well, he was my assistant for a while then went onto manage a Saturday team.

Middlewich v Northwich Victoria FC on Tuesday with a 7.00 PM KO if anyone is looking to get a new ground or a match to watch, a pre season friendly.

National League fixtures are out today at 1pm. It’ll be interesting to see any tasty fixtures when Stoke aren’t playing. I’m thinking primarily Buxton and Tamworth being the nearest.

Leek Town all the way .... the way they play, the way they are managed would put Stoke to shame at times. I go to as many games as I can, we might all have 6 fingers on each hand, but it just means I can type faster.

Barnton 4-3 Wolverhampton Sports. An enjoyable game for the first match of the new season. Home again on Wednesday evening v Sandbach, 2 home games on the bounce to start seems a bit strange.

Great little set up there I went last season. I planned on doing another dozen North West Counties grounds this season if the Stoke fixtures don't clash with enough games......

Looking at all those 12.30’s I’ll be going to West a bit more often this year.
