His lack of basic knowledge of events that happened under his management is just mind blowingly embarrassing. I wouldn't trust a single word that came out of his mouth. He'd fit in well on this forum then...

The Delap story was a weird one as it was used all the way through promotion season and scored many times from it.

A lot of the same stories but still a great watch. He's the only time we as a club are still relevant to the rest of the football world. Which is sad. I think Hughes made us more relevant with Stokealona rolling over spurs Liverpool Chelsea , city and United the last three only found the 365 a place to lose under Hughes not TP . I said he's the only time we are STILL relevant. The rest of the country don't care that Hughes won some league games last decade. That's only us who remember that. People are for some reason interested in TP and his time at our club.

The point is that TP is synonymous with Stoke City because of what he achieved, dragging us up from obscurity to the big stage & keeping us there with ease actually. As someone commented, Without TP , Hughes doesn’t happen. The actual story from where & when TP came in to where he exited stage left is phenomenal. Right now, I have serious doubts that we’ll ever get back there again tbh so I would suggest that folk indulge themselves and listen to what we used to be….relevant!

Since we were relegated from the top flight some 40 years ago we've had about 30 managers.
Only Tony Pulis was organised, driven, ruthless and talented enough to take us back up and, against the odds, keep us there.
Easily the best managerial achievement since Waddington.

Had Lou been given the funds TP was, the liklihood is he would have done likewise

And I think that the longer we languish in obscurity & irrelevance the more people will really realise how immense TP was.

Ask anyone supporting the club in the mid 90's if we would "ever" get to the Prem, and many if not most would answer "I don't think so". Bottom line, football is cyclical. Teams will rise and teams will fall. When Huddersfield Town were winning back to back Tier 1 titles, I'm sure none of their fans would have predicted their future correctly. (Unless Benjamin Biscuit's dad was a fan).
