Verlinden is better than most of them π How many of them have you seen play? Verlinden is a PL class player if he takes his chance. None of those are. People as ever are seriously underestimating our own players and itβs infuriating. These young players have proven most people on here wrong, Verlinden needs that chance to shove humble pie down your throats

Just asking how many of the players mentioned have you seen play.

Notts County fans were raving about Callum Roberts last season too - but he's missed most of this season with a groin injury, although he's expected back in the next week. No idea if he's Championship standard though. www.nottinghamsport.com/index.php/2020/07/27/the-impact-of-the-geordie-messi/Despite the goals record, despite the credentials of past promise, this was still a gamble for Notts albeit a relatively low budget one but despite us being only nine games into his County career, we might very well be seeing a superstar before our eyes
A huge statement yes, but not since a young Jack Grealish, socks rolled down on one wing with Callum McGregor, jinking in and out on the other have we seen such a fine prospect at the club. Roberts really is that good, he just needs to be nurtured in the right way to fulfil his undeniable potential.
Then came lockdownβ¦. And as we seemed to forget about the brilliance of the South Shields born winger over four depressing months of no football then came Saturdayβ¦ Roberts, the Geordie Messi back strutting his stuff again.
The goal Roberts scored on Saturday is one that only a few players can do, and is one that you have to take seriously as a moment of individual brilliance. The best thing is, it is not the first time he has done it.
Roberts has guile and craftsmanship, a silky player cutting in to shoot on that thunderous left foot, often threading the ball through an eye of a needle, delivering the perfect cross, dribbling inside and out like a young John Robertson from over the Trent 40 odd years ago.
I believe no matter the result and performance come Sunday against Harrogate that Cal Roberts will be a star that Notts County will do very well to hold and keep. An old fashioned once in a decade type of player that lifts bums off seats, one plucked from National North obscurity now with an eye on winning a Wembley final.
From deepest rock bottom being released by Newcastle to now being Notts Countyβs man of the moment, what a year it has been for Callum Roberts, what a career it could be, should he keep his feet on the ground and his hips wiggling past defenders

that CJ Hamilton at blackpool looked good against us in the cup but was he left sided?? no idea how he has performed this season though Forgot about him - I bet Bruno wanted to be subbed off after about 10 minutes. He destroyed him! Absolutely rapid

If heβs out for the season, we may never see him play for us again, although heβd have to prove his fitness before anyone buys him. Aint you just contradicted yourself there haha Not really, I was just thinking out loud. Ha ha.

The lad at Hull looks a real talent. Iβd be tempted with him. We need someone to come in and lift the place. We have lost our main man. We certainly canβt rely on Brown with what Iβve seen upto yet.

I wanted us to go after Wilks before we bought Brown. Heβs stronger and quicker from the look of it. I also hope Verlinden gets his chance, but not as Tyβs replacement. Relying on an old pro like Fletcher to get us through a season, when you have Vokes as next in line suggests to me we need more of a striker than another wide man as such.

These young players have proven most people on here wrong, Verlinden needs that chance to shove humble pie down your throats Itβs stupid to say that though, at this stage. He isnβt a PL class player at all. Heβs a reserve in a Championship team. βIf he takes his chanceβ implies heβs got that quality now. Based on what? Destroying some kids in U23βs and then having a hit and miss show in league 1? I really hope that he becomes a top player for us. He looks to have a lot of potential. Iβm frustrated that heβs not getting the chance now instead of Ince. But to say he is a player of the ilk that you claim when heβs never done anything in professional football is just outlandish. If he had ripped league 1 to shreds, maybe you could have at least some anecdotal evidence to claim it, but he didnβt.

Is it worthwhile just looking abroad at whoever is scoring frequently at present instead? This league has been crap all year, you just need a player in form to take it by the scruff of the neck. It is there for the taking.

Without downplaying Campbell's importance it's the one position we have ample cover and that cover is well capable of seeing us into the play offs or more. Ince, Brown and Verlinden just need to step the fuck up and along with the rest of the forwards show that we are not a one player team. Get well soon Ty see you playing in the PL with us next season.

He's been very good whenever playing for us and by all accounts was the shining light in the worst Bolton side in history. Being a good player in a side getting battered 4-0 every week is pretty good going. He has to start on Tuesday. Has to.

It is there for the taking. Come January and post Brexit isn't it going to be far more difficult to buy European as they will need a work permit which will be given on a points basis and make it almost impossible for lesser names to play in England?

Posters claiming he's unproven etc are talking (typing) through their arse. 1)excellent at U23 level 2)proved himself promising in a few games(if infrequent) with our first team. 3)Excellent reviews from his time at Bolton. ITS TIME MON!!!

Powell up top with Ince behind. Or Fletcher up top with Ince and Verlinden on the wings. Getting the mixture right in our front four is key. But we got enough variation still where we should be able to.
Iβd love us to go in for Liam Delap for half a season but heβs far too good for us Iβm afraid

Not wide players - but would Gelhardt or Greenwood at Leeds make a mark at this level? Or Barry at Villa? Hard to know when promising players like that are really ready to physically compete Ideally there'd be a Diangana lurking in some u21 team somewhere - but can't imagine there's many of that calibre available for loan in January. Louie Barry would be a great loan signing but Villa rate him highly & its unlikely he'll be loaned out as he's on the verge of breaking into Villa's first team squad. He scored against us the other week in the U23 game where Villa edged us to victory. A pacey, reliable & all round poacher of a striker loan signing could be the difference between us finishing mid table or being right in the mix. The year Villa got promoted they had Tammy Abraham on loan and he was an immense signing for them & proved the difference in the end as he scored a fair few goals to get them into the play offs and ultimately winning promotion on the back of it.

Mallik Wilks has got to be the closest 'realistic' like for like replacement we can get for Campbell.....hes got pace and power and is a cut above league 1
8 in 18 and mainly played on the right of a front three although being left footed. very similar traits to Tye.
We were rumoured to be after him in the summer but went for Brown instead (Jury still out on that decision) but could be available for 1.5-2mil and will be relatively low wages
Still only young.....turns 22 next week he is exactly the type of player we should be after.

Bright Osayi- Samuel at QPR is out of contract in the summer. There doesnβt appear to be any will on his part to sign a new deal there. Heβs the type Iβd like to see us go for.

Goes to show how our 2 previous managers fucked us up with their signings, here we are, one of our young players out for a while and we are looking to bring someone in to replace him, because the ones we have here just ain't good enough.

I'd be inclined to keep our powder dry. We've a large squad as it is as seeing as we are still struggling to give a lot away, I'd be content using what we have for this season. However, if this lad was available I'd be happy to see us go for him. The next Ricardo Fuller.

He's coming back from a serious injury but he's clearly not too far away as he's made the bench a few times now - it's only a matter of time before he gets his chance.

There's a case for an argument that he's only on the bench because of how depleted the squad is...... But, who knows??? π€·πΌββοΈ
