Great game and a fantastic last few mInutes when all seemed lost for the French. Wales must be absolutely stunned after thinking they'd got the match won. France look a real threat for the foreseeable future and the World Cup. I agree with the comments about Butler's commentary, he's always been the same.
Just going back to England, Eddie needs to shake things up big time, or maybe it's the right time for a new head coach. England look stale, sluggish, and devoid of ideas or any spark.

That's cheered me up 😄 🇨🇵 Good to see Wales get a taste of their own medicine, and how biased was that commentary? Now if Eddie can book the next available Qantas that will be great. brilliant. how silly was i switching back to the footy with Wales 10 points up. Butler is one of the most biast commentators going how he gets away with his slant year after year I’ll never know. I bet Brian Moore was laughing his boots off. i’m off to watch the last 5 mins on catchup. Twice. I won't lie, I switched the footy on too and checked BBC Sport expecting the worst.

England's performances are unacceptable given their resources.

He’s been allowed to get away with it for years because he’s apparently got this golden voice.

I always assumed he was there as an ex Wales international. If they kept him away from Wales or England games it'd be ok, although it is quite funny how utterly bored he sounds when not doing Wales or England matches! One of the few sports where I'm relieved to see coverage on ITV to be safe from Butler!

England set to finish in 5th place, with Italy as the only other team to also finish with a minus points difference. Every aspect of the performance has been pretty awful in almost every game.
Surely big changes are needed with the next World Cup in a couple of years.

Anthony Watson and Tom Curry are the only 2 players to have had a respectable 6 nations from an England point of view. Maro Itoje did well in a couple of games but was also a key contributor to our horrific indiscipline in the Wales game or else I'd have put him in there too.
Away from that, performances have been under par across the board. Even players like May, George and Mako who are normally consistently good have been off it.
As for the shockers, Elliot Daly should not be starting anymore and imo we desperately miss Jack Nowell, I think he's a great player. Billy Vunipola also, although okay in a couple of games, needs to be benched for Sam Simmonds.
The biggest issue on the pitch now though is with Farrell, our attack is totally non existent and the Saracens style of play just isn't working, we actually have really good attacking players but the game plan combined with Farrell's skill set is holding us back now. It's also key to point out we look toothless without the threat of Manu in the midfield.

I've seen a few people calling for Baxter, the Exeter coach. Would he suit England?
And bring Shaun Edwards home.

Yes I think Rob Baxter might be a good fit for the job, and I'd definitely try to bring Edwards back into the fold as well. Will Eddie be sacked - does the RFU do that ? Will Eddie dig his heels in (more likely) and just carry on with the World Cup as his target and swansong ? If he stays there has to be big improvements, and fast. France have been rebuilding for a few years now, and they look to be well prepared and right on course for the World Cup.

I think they'll probably be close second favourites, behind the obvious (not us!), to win their home WC in 2023. Once Gatland is done with the Lions, England should be busting a gut to get him and Shaun Edwards.

I switched over to watch the golf at the same time and went to bed assuming that Wales had won. My radio alarm wakes me up to the news and sports bulletin. I was a bit confused when the first item on the Sports news was boxing, as the prospect of a Wales Grand Slam had been the first item on the Saturday morning bulletin, so I couldn't understand why actually winning it wouldn't be the first item today. Fortunately with the iPlayer, I was at least able to watch the bit I missed.

We were shit Fair play to Scotland for having a proper go at us and the French, they're now an exciting team even when they're not relying on Finn Russel being bonkers. I properly enjoyed that match today.

Typical of the French to blow it, but they just need to iron out their "normal and historical" inconsistencies (it's always been a question of which France will turn up for a game) and look good for the next few years (ankd World Cup on home terroitory). Scotland have really improved and thoroughly deserved to win last night.
Eddie needs to sort things out as England look slow, lacking any real inventiveness or flair, and just tend to grind teams down over the 80 minutes. I think Eddie's had his day to be honest and it's time for someone new to take us forward but no doubt the RFU will stick with Eddie up to another disappointing World Cup campaign.
I feel as though Wales have won due to other teams being collectively inconsistent and in some cases, consistently poor.

England and France will both be in another World Cup Final before Wales reach their first. Feel free to pin this 👍

Good bantz! However, it does also demonstrate quite neatly why it's easier for every side other than England to win grand slams and the tournament generally. Every game against England is the most important of the season for those sides.

Were you disappointed with the whole thing or just the final? I was bouncing after the NZ game.

Did anyone watch the women's rugby on the BBC England v New Zealand what a fantastic performance from the English. It was a totally dominant 80mins and well deserved win albeit it was the first international game for 2yrs for New Zealand.

Didn't see it but it was a great performance by England from what I've read about it. 43-12 is an emphatic victory isn't it.

It was a totally dominant 80mins and well deserved win albeit it was the first international game for 2yrs for New Zealand. I did watch a bit of it, good result, although I think you're right to point out the rustiness of the NZ team after hardly any rugby for a long time. It reminded me a bit of women's football in that the game flows so much better than either men's football or men's rugby. I suspect it's a combination of the women 'naively' playing the game because they love it and not having learnt many of the cynical dark arts yet. Whatever the reason, although both women's football and rugby are slower paced than the men's game, once you get adjusted to that, it's actually refreshing not to see the play held up every couple of minutes. Long may it continue. In regard to the men's autumn internationals and forthcoming Six Nations, I just hope they're more entertaining than the switch off-inducing bore-fest that was the S African Lions tour.

I thought NZ might have been rusty last week after 800 days without a game and I thought they would be better this week but not so England have improved and another well deserved win albeit 8mins to go.

Losing Wyn Jones is a massive blow for them

I haven't got it unfortunately as I would have liked to watch it today. We had a Prime free trial a little while ago just for a month. I personally think all England games in football, rugby union, and cricket should all be on terrestrial. I stopped having Sky Sports quite a while ago now due to the cost, and also because the wife ALWAYS seemed to be watching something else whenever anything decent was on Sky Sports, so I never got to watch it anyway.
