Still, we only play Italy last game.

Great to have the final few games actually being played.
I see Ireland have absolutely thrashed Italy today. 50-17 was a convincing win even against Italy.
Next Saturday Wales v Scotland k.o. 14.15 Italy v England k.o. 16.45 France v Ireland k.o. 20.05
Hopefully the title has all been decided in Rome before France and Ireland kick off !

Just to digress slightly, well done to Exeter Chiefs on winning the Premiership final 19-13 against Wasps. Excellent performance from Wasps though after having 10 first team players unavailable due to Covid.
Exeter have certainly come a long way over the past 25 years culminating in winning the European Cup this year.

The forwards are monstrously strong a dominant performance.

I support Sale Sharks and was hoping that they could have a good go at the Premiership but it's almost no contest when they (or any other team) play against Exeter. Now Sarries have been relegated it looks like Exeter will be fairly dominant for the foreseeable future.

I don't really follow the club side of it but when I started getting into rugby it was usually Bath or Leicester dominating.

Pre covid though it was cheaper to fly to Italy to watch England than it was to go to Twickenham thats if you could get a Twickenham ticket that is which is a shame. I've been once in the 90's when we put a 100pts past Tonga and it was amazing.

Pretty sure its the club of choice for us here in SOT starved of any sort of rugby side anywhere close. Good season for us, mind you. I've only been following them for 5 ish years and never seen them so clinical. But yes, can see Exeter being clear favourites for a while.

I've been a big rugby union fan ((not rugby league though) for many years (but not as long as I've been a Stokie !) and always watched the 6 (previously 5) Nations every year. I saw the occasional club game on the tele - it always seemed to be Bath during December/Christmas period and the setting and atmosphere got me hooked into finding a top level club to support. As you say for us Stokies it has to be Sale and l've been many a time, and like at Stoke, have suffered years of frustration. Steve Diamond has built a good team now with De Klerk and Co. but they're still some way short of Exeter. I was hoping for a top 4 finish this year but they just missed out. Hopefully they can improve next season (if/when there is a next season !).

So have Exeter got a sugar daddy or have they got a good development programme?

Still reckon we're in with a great chance of winning the title next week. If you need a bonus point win against anyone it's Italy and Ireland have a really tough game in France. It'll be interesting for sure.

My nephew is on the books at Leicester tigers academy. Coming to the end of his second year, fingers crossed that he makes it!! Great club but the worst team in the league, they would've been relegated if Saracens didn't get that punishment, might mean he gets a chance though. Rugby Union is always a good sport for providing young players with game time, particularly during the international periods and in the cup competitions.

So have Exeter got a sugar daddy or have they got a good development programme? Not too sure of their structure but I do know they have a long standing Chairman/CEO, owner Tony Rowe, 68. who owns South West Communications Group – it employs 150 people and has a turnover of £25 million – and is their shirt sponsor, and former player, head coach and now director of rugby, Rob Baxter. I think there is also a good development programme to back up their array of bought in talent. To do what they have done in 20-25 years is pretty impressive so there must have been some serious financial backing somewhere along the way.

They'd certainly offer more but I suppose it's a logistical problem- unless any future Six Nations with Japan were based in one country each year? Japan would probably be better joining the NZ/Australia version.

Overall a disappointing performance from England even though we got the bonus point win in the end. The first half was utter tripe and Eddie obviously put a few rockets up certain players as the second half was a bit more like it. I can't really see it happening but English fans on here have got to hope for a narrow French win against Ireland - certainly not enough to beat England's points difference of 44 compared to France's 13, whereas Ireland just have to beat France by more than 7 points to take the title.
Allez les Bleus !!!!!!
Good win earlier today for Scotland against a fairly poor Welsh team.
