Great stalwart that he's been for us, does anybody really think he can get a consistent run of games to have much of an influence on the rest of the side. His body just doesn't seem to be able to cope with the rigours of regular football anymore.

3 months of RNR and yet doesn't really last 45 mins. This after his last effort of lasting 20 mins. It's not looking good is it?

O’Neill commented on it’s the best he’d trained/looked since he’d been at the club the other day so I doubt he’s finished

Too early to say he's finished injury wise.
What is worrying me more is we are starting to look more balanced as a side without him.

Do we know what the injury was?

It seemed to look like a strain on the inside of his thigh. But we'll have to wait and see.

Great servant and true legend but his record this season of false dawns in returning and not lasting a full game is of major concern. He is unfortunately looking like he is fast approaching the end as a regular starter and is, for me now, too much of a risk to even consider for a starting position for the remaining games this season.

Isnt he out of contract at the end of next season?

This really isn’t looking good for Ryan is it....he just keeps breaking down and can’t gain any momentum...really fear for him.

All good things come to an end and unfortunately the end is closing in for Ryan. Batth is most definitely not the answer long term though, we need better.

I hope he does call it a day, he has been past his prime for a while now
Let him go out now and not some wreck at the end of the season, we can remember his prime then

Too early to say he's finished injury wise. What is worrying me more is we are starting to look more balanced as a side without him. As rusty as Ryan was, Batth was a walking disaster zone. We won't get Ryan of old back, but I can't see how we're any better if his absence means that Batth and/or Lindsay are in the team.

We seem more mobile and creative without him. I know it's sancrosant to say so. The first half, it just went through him completely, a la rowett, backwards and left/right/left and then he hoofed it up to campbell on his own.

Let’s hope he’s the 93rd player in the last 5 years who should be offered a coaching role Why? He's going to manage this club at some point so it'd be good to get some coaching experience. But it's way too soon to write him off yet. He may not be the saviour that a number of people have called for him to be, but he's still a good defender. It's unfortunate that his comeback game gets him injured again, but it's a minor problem for now.

All this coaching nonsense does my head in Just because he’s been a good player doesn’t mean he’ll make a good coach Literally every player we had in those first few premiership years should of been offered a role at the club according to this mb and even keeping them because they’d be good to have around the place It’s ludicrous

Don't you think we looked much more solid when Shawcross went off and Batth came on? To be honest, every time I looked up in the second half, there was some weird defensive mishap going on. Our first half problems were down to us being wide open on the left, which was resolved at half time by putting McClean on the wing.
