I do indeed have some articulate comments about Noah’s as follows. It’s a shit pub well known as a haven for drug dealers to meet up and cause havoc resulting in numerous police visits and so called gangs meeting for a dust up. I don’t know the current owners/managers (its part of a chain of notoriously poorly run boozers) but it’s been the same for the last five years or so and got worse, May as well turn it into flats because it’s the last place I’d go for a beer in the area as would anyone I know. Just a general overview mind😉 As an aside, there isn’t one person I know of in Hartshill and surrounding areas (and I’m a big cheese in these parts🤣) who uses the Noah’s for a drink. Make of that what you will It's generally full of beaked up wankers and, considering it's a shit pub with shit beer, is quite expensive. There's several better pubs in the Hartshill area, the best two being Artisan Tap and Hopp Inn I'd say. I’d technically say Hopp Inn was Basford but I’ll take it

Are you equally as well known in Basford?

I'll second every single sentence of that. Even the part about me being “a big cheese”?🤣 Especially that, everybody in Hartshill knows the Badger.

That seems now to be an accepted fact. I was wondering though in my Basford post, if in fact the Badger is able to wander there as openly and freely as he does in Hartshill, or whether, when in Basford, he chooses to use a Pseudonym!

I do hope you’re not thinking what I think you’re thinking?😉 Still plain old badger, wherever I may roam.

Absolute washout today so any plans I had of sitting in a beer garden and enjoying a few light ales with Mrs Clams went right down the shitter.
As such, I've been sat in all day watching football for the 967th weekend running whilst drinking.
This week's tipple has been 330ml tins of Pilsner Urquell - currently on offer in Asda at £9 for x12 cans.
Haven't had this since I went to Prague to watch Depeche Mode a couple of years ago where it was was ridiculously cheap (even in the stadium!). Not the strongest of beverages but very refreshing and light. Will definitely purchase again.

5 x 660ml bottles of Krombacher for me, pleasantly finished off with a lamb rogan josh. Still only one solitary visit to the pub since whenever we were allowed to go. Think I’ve got cabin fever, oh and of course global warming is playing it’s dastardly hand!

Keen watchers of this thread will be aware that the experience hasn't always been an agreeable one but overall, it's just been nice to get out and indulge in something like 'normality' and have a few jars with familiar faces. Roll on 17 May when I won't have to worry about whether to bust out the Goretex or not.

I’ve had a night sponsored by Brewdog consisting of a triple hazy, a few double punks and a cloudwater vs brewdog (New England IPA). The double punk has something in it that definitely causes headaches.
Yesterday I went for a vocation night with the life & death, pride & joy, hop skip & juice and monomia (or something).
I need to cut down...

I expect the Supermarkets are expecting to take a bit of a hit, as people have the opportunity from tomorrow to return to a more regular drinking routine as you can go inside pubs again.

The supermarkets have done well out of this shite all things considered. Time to support your local publican!

It's not just supermarkets expecting to see an impact due the reopening of pubs I hear a rumour, that a certain major internet retailer sales in certain sectors are down between 30% & 50% in the past 3 weeks Maybe people are looking to go and enjoy no matter what as they have spent enough on their house / kitchen / bedroom etc etc Bring on the beer and let's enjoy it

Shouldn't this thread just be called 'Drinking' now?
Or are we waiting until 21 June to rename it (just to be safe?)
Either way, today I have been drinking. Drinking in an actual pub. It was sublime and I wholeheartedly hope that more of it can be done in such an unobstructed manner in the not too distant future.
Viva la pub!

I'm actually drinking less now that the pubs are 'properly' open and I can stick to my designated routine (and not just flippantly drinking at home all day without really realising).
The whole concept of 'pub' and the associated vibes are what I've really been missing more so than the booze however.
Just to get back to enjoying a normal, few light ales in a selection of my favourite hostelries has been a revelation and points towards a return to a way of life that has been cruelly ripped away from us over the past 14 months.

No pub visit today to report of although since the last bulletin I have visited the following establishments, all of which were very pleasant:
Glebe Artisan Tap Holy Inadequate Hopp Inn Bru Plume of Feathers The Swan with Two Dicks
Today's semi-lockdown drinking however has mainly taken the form of watching the Euros whilst finishing off the last few tins of Blue Moon I had left from last week (put a slice of orange in and everything). Have some Camden Pale in too but will wait until later to tuck into those.

Just nipped into castle to pick up a couple of cinema tickets. What a shit hole that end of town is. Ruined the Friar turning into an ordinary piss heads pub instead of a decent rockers venue. Used to be nice to have a bit of an alternative in town.

No discernible change at The Hopp. Same standard of beers available, same clientele, although (like everywhere) prices have gone up a bit.
The couple of times I've been in The Holy it's been rammed and they'd run dry of a lot of things, suggesting that there's been a slew of customers itching to get back to their favourite pub. It's great to see.

A Hard Days Night has changed hands and is currently receiving a makeover (hopefully will mean an end to their £3 half pint only policy). There is another pub opening very soon on the same side as the other two. Anyone else heard anything?
