I aren’t fussed about the Tap to be honest but there’s a bloke who drinks in the Vic who owes me £400 I’m keen to get my paws on👀 That's quite a lot of beak to let someone have on tick 😂 You're mistaking it for the Jolly Potter.

Stout About It. ABV 5.2% £1.59 for a 440ml can from Aldi. "A full creamy Stout with sweet hints of vanilla flavour". It is a bit like drinking ice-cream. Came on to post about this find You beat e to it Lovely Also a great mix with either murphys and / or special brew (99p for 330ml in home bargain)

Anyone know which decent pubs are opening from tomorrow? I've got my two hour government approved alcohol imbibing slot booked at Bottlecraft in Hanley this coming Saturday but would like to have a couple of jars on Wednesday evening (preferably somewhere that you don't have to book 6 weeks in advance and have a signed letter from Boris Johnson in order to have a strictly controlled pint or two). Usually frequent Hartshill of a Wednesday but haven't seen any concrete information about what's open and what isn't. Artisan Tap has said it's opening but haven't stipulated whether a booking is required, whilst that Cask Bar place is also open but you must book in advance and it appears to only be open between 5pm - 8pm for some reason. Victoria Inn at Basford is also open but you must book via their website but the website doesn't work. What a fucking rigmarole (and it'll probably end up fucking snowing too 😂). Cherry tree is a "pub safe pub" whatever one of them is - appears to be open from tomorrow

Is the South African fella still running it? Gary? Yeh 😀 Used to go in on a Wednesday night when quiz night was on Then he changed the wine pulled my pint without asking and when I asked for my other's wine, they didn't sell it anymore Result was he barred me as I wouldnt pay for the pint as my other half couldnt have a drink The lady who used to be on the bar was great, a lot more welcoming than Gary I would say C'est la vie!

A few around and about Spoons etc. Artisan Tap in Hartshill was heaving, Greyhound was shut, the benches at the front mustn't pay.

I've been the Boar at Moddershall. By far the best pub around here, in my opinion, on a nice day!!!

Will be interesting hearing from those enjoying a drink today Hearing from a landlord that breweries have put beer up 10p a pint minimum on beers, eg Abbott If you are out, enjoy Went out at about 6pm - headed to The Marquis as they'd said all over social media and in The Sent*nel that they weren't taking bookings and will operate on a first-come-first-served basis. Poked my head through the door and some barstaff goon barked "HAVE YOU BOOKED?!?" at me as soon as I got millimetre across the threshold. When I said "no" he literally laughed at me. So, after that, I walked across the road to The Greyhound and again, there was no room at the inn. Now at a loose end, we decided to walk down to Greys Corner and fortunately were granted admission. Unfortunately however, it appears to have changed management and they seemed to have bussed in the city's full quota of ashen-faced smackhead scrotes to populate its beer garden. Not being able to tolerate hanging round in an establishment that made The Jockey off of 'Shameless' look like The Groucho Club in comparison, we headed to that Potbank place within the old Spode site. Very busy but its clientele seems to comprise entirely of fucking Instagram influencers who order endless gay cocktails that cost £13 a pop and consist of 90% fruit juice (but hey, they bring in the likes hun). Paid £12 quid for a lukewarm bottle of Punk IPA and a vodka and lemonade, all of which took 25 minutes to arrive from placing our order. I'm now at home eating a pizza and enjoying a Blue Moon (which is exactly what I should have done in the first place). If this kind of wankery is what I'll have to put up with just to have a pint somewhere other than my living room then I'll just wait until I've had my Bill Gates-designed Covid Freedom Pass microchip forcibly implanted up my urethra and can go about my pub frequenting business unhindered. Load of fucking shite.

Had a wander around Stone this afternoon.
The Star was very busy, it looked as if every available bit of space outside was utilised.
The Swan was not opening until 4pm, but some were queuing up at 3.35pm. Signs outside the pub said that they were operating on a first come, first served basis, whereas The Star said that you needed to book using Facebook.
The Borehole looked to be busy and there were a few people sitting outside The Bridge.

Load of fucking shite. Much better experience to report from midweek and yesterday in terms of going out for highly regulated pint... Wednesday evening we tried The Marquis again only to be met with the same response as detailed above, but this time however, the swift trip across the road to The Greyhound after being rebuked for not booking by Team Marquis was fruitful. The Greyhound had a couple of spare tables despite being very busy (they've extended the outdoor area back a bit further to fit more in) and we were in. Swift table only service and no great delays in bringing you your pint once the order was placed, even though it was pretty much packed. Yesterday we took a trip to Bottlecraft on Piccadilly - had to book a pre-ordained 2 hour slot in advance, so no chance of being turned away. This too was a much better experience than that endured on Monday, although it's a bit shit that it closes at 7pm when most of the other places in Piccadilly seemed to be keeping 'normal' hours. Beer Consumption Round-Up The Greyhound, Penkull (Wednesday 14 April) - x3 pints Bierre Moretti Bottlecraft, Hanley (Saturday 17 April) - x2 Schneiderweiss Tap 7 x2 Cloudwater Helles

***TOTALITARIAN HEALTH APARTHEID STATE UPDATE***
Currently in Artisan Tap enjoying a nice pint of Bevertown Gamma Ray, sat on the pavement on the sun dappled Hartshill asphalt.
No pre-booking required and when they asked us to scan the QR code we simply said we don't have the app and subsequently scribed our names as 'Mixu Paatelainen' and 'Zsa Zsa Gábor'.
I mean, some people might die as a result of our actions but I'll be fucked if I'm surrendering my details and whereabouts to Bill Gates/Serco/Michael Barrymore.
A victory for the common beer-drinking man, I think you'll agree.

Enjoying this thread as much as I enjoy musik's laundry room instalments, keep us informed.

As i was walking to my gym tonite to work out i try go 3 night a week anyway you wont be interested in that so ill leave it there.
A fella was walking towards me. Left right right left. Clearly had enjoyed a day on the sauce. Jacket ripped scruffy look about him. He was staggering clutching a bottle of Vodka very tightly. Probably to continue the drinking elsewhere or save it for breakfast in the morning.
As i got closer the poor fella dropped the big full bottle of Vodka causing it to smash on the floor drink went everywhere. Said member of the public didnt seem to realize and just carried on walking.

It's been a stressful 12 months so I try not to pass any judgement on the owners.
