Is everybody drinking a lot more ?
I'm a social drinker normally, i drink at the pub when with friends, I rarely drink much at home unless we have visitors. Problem is - the virtual pubs are now in the house!
3-4 times a week v once or twice i used to go to the pub. Some of my friends are scattered around the globe so i didn't get to drink with them much, now its every week.
Plus by the time 5pm comes around i'm screamingly bored and making a g & t's
usual weekly total - 12 units current total - 22 units increase - 80+%

Alcoholism (as defined by the government/NHS) has skyrocketed.
As has (although not widely reported yet) domestic violence.

Aber Falls Orange Marmalade Gin is the best gin I've ever tasted its brilliant, I visited the distillery the last time I was in Conwy well worth a visit.

My beer consumption has definitely increased from being an occasional drinker. I woke up at 6 am one day last week and fancied a beer and duly had one 🤪

What type of gin & what tonic you like... My gin cupboard has 8 open bottles at the moment. My current favourite by far is Cloud View, which is made in Congleton. Always preferred lime to lemon, but when Hendricks got popular I discovered i prefer cucumber to lime. Slight preference for fever tree of Scwheppes so buy those - but the premium is excessive. I had you down as a rum drinker Bath. Purely due to the Che links to Cuba.

I have tried their 15yr rum, but it’s not worth the £150 price tag!

By the time we walked home my knees wouldn’t work. I could talk & had my $#!t together, but my legs just wouldn’t function.🍹

It occurred to us recently that we’ve been knocking back a bottle of wine with every evening meal. Need to plan a night off to give the liver a rest.

Trying to limit it to 3 nights a week, some days though I have a crap day and esp when working here, the 3 steps from table where I’m working to kitchen is too easy and booze ensues. Couple that with days I leave all the beer out of fridge so I can’t posiably drink it and then blast freeze it for twenty mins in the freezer so i can. I will be overweight and drinking too much by the end of this

Yes, I'm drinking pretty much every day. Working my arse off in the garden in the day then cracking the cans and rum open around 5ish.

I'm trying to follow the government guidelines but I'm finding staying 2m away from the wife pretty tough to be honest. That maybe what's driving me to drink more.... ...I can't wait for the restrictions to be lifted so i can go back to 20m plus.

I am not a heavy drinker, but my reaction to being locked down for three months was to order a case of wine and some bottles of lager from the local Majestic so that I can enjoy a glass of cold beer mid afternoon in between gardening and a glass of wine with my evening meal.

If gin doesn’t taste like hairlaquer I just don’t see the point. A friend on mines father used to drink gin with water & he recommended Sainsbury’s own as a good one. Mind, it did kill him in the end!

Always found that a drop of council pop as mother used to call tap water a couple of blocks of ice and a slice of lime brought out the flavour better When my daughter in law does my shopping this week I might just reacquaint myself with a drop of gin she uses sainsburys apparently the best range of free from foods

Didn’t Aldi gin win the best gin on the planet award?
I’m drinking for two currently because the wife is pregnant.
