The error was appointing Rowett , a bloke with no track record of spending money and then giving him a load of it . Afobe is OK maybe 3 or 4 mill but a moody player who never seemed happy here , that's a huge thing , finding players who get Stoke and want to be here . If only they had the vision to go for Potter back then !! Still we now have a solid manager who will at least get us to the top half and beyond if we can clear more shite out and free up some money.

Why has he scored goals virtually everywhere but Stoke? Maybe the environment within the club is the problem not the players

Why has he scored goals virtually everywhere but Stoke? That's complete urban legend, apart from one purple patch season 5 years ago at Wolves, he has struggled to get into double figures. The warning signs were there with just 10 (TEN!) goals in 63 appearances for Bournemouth. Vardy scores that in around a month. He really wasn't worth what we paid for him.

Why has he scored goals virtually everywhere but Stoke? He has scored 68 goals in 10 years in 273 games. Apart from a period of nearly 1 goal every two games for Wolves and 10 in 22 for MK Dons in a lower league, his career record is 30 goals in 189 games which is bang on his average for Stoke. If he hadn't missed a penalty, his record at Stoke would be above his career average. Question is why was he so good at Wolves?
