One more point I’d like to make...what on earth is Simon Grayson’s backstory? How did he get to be a manager, because he looked and sounded lost.

I like Coleman. Think he might well be a good fit for us if Rowett doesn’t work out.

I like Coleman. Think he might well be a good fit for us if Rowett doesn’t work out. He's awful. He's currently ripping up the Chinese Super League with a lower win rate than Rowett. He says nice things, and comes across as a decent bloke, but he's an appalling football manager. Contrary to the documentary, Wales were not 117th when he took over they were 45th, Coleman continued with Gary Speed's system which had moved them 70 places. A great 2016 Euros, but other than that there's literally nothing good about his managerial career.

Just some other superb football documentaries/series If people are interested. They Think It's All Rovers: Charts Doncaster's demise and eventual fall into the Conference after 70 years of league football, highlights include Danny Bergara citing Churchill in the dressing room and an attempt to confuse Swansea away by switching player numbers only for Bergara to forget who is who. Orient For Fiver: Similar to Doncaster, only with a lot more cohesion and less chaos than up North. Jon Sitton's halftime "bring your fu*king dinner" rant shines in this one. Sitton would later become a cabbie. Chester City: An American Dream: Perhaps the most bizarre among this bunch, the story of Chester City's ill fated ownership under former American Footballer Terry Smith leading to them dropping out of the league. Smith comes across as a nice bloke but is every stereotype of an American sportsman....often found quoting "that's an Automatic penalty!" in games. Big Ron Manager: A complete and utter train wreck from start to finish. Ron Atkinson rolls in Peterborough to "troubleshoot" for young rookie manager Steve Bleasdale who at the start of filming had won 4 out of 5. Atkinson fails to offer anything of any real value and Bleasdale struggles with his young players and Barry Fry's ego, probably best known for producing the infamous "When it's a battle, yo fu*king battle!" Pretty much no one comes out of this in a positive light, and this was actually Ron's second attempt at "troubleshooting" role after failing to record enough material at Swindon before the manager told him to do one. They certainly put our current plight into some perspective. For a second I thought you weren't going to include "Big Ron Manager" glad to see it at the bottom. One of the best "comedies" available on YouTube!

The series was a great insight into the running of a football club (run badly in the end).
The one shocking bit for me was that Rowetts derby were thrashed 4-1 at home against the shambles.

Always impressed me when I saw him interviewed and thought he managed Wales pretty well.

What was most interesting. In The Orient one, when it shows the bottom of the league table. Orient gone. Chester City gone.....but it was Bournemouth who were bottom.
It would also seem Sitton can’t add up to nineteen so check your change if your in his cab.

They might turn out in big numbers but they weren't half quick to get on Grayson's back.

Watching Rodwell is like seeing how a lottery winner spend is spare time, what a twat!,Grabban isn't someone you would want in the trenches with you but it was strange how Coleman subbed him every game after an hour winning or not?.I'd actually take a punt on Jonny Williams despite being made of fine china but he does bring somwthing different to the party.

A Sunderland fan looked into Grabban's claim. Basically it was bullshit. He finished most of the games. He just didn't want to be there.

I've watched it all now and it is fascinating. Again, it's probably good film making, but my goodness they conceded some of the worse goals I've seen. Some of them were junior grades at the park defending.

I've just finished it and I have to say I found Joyce the chef really heartwarming. I really bought into how much she cared about the staff and the players, felt like it was more than just a job for her. A lot of the staff came out of it really credible to me and I only hope that there is that sense of family among the staff at our club but I don't really feel it

Just watched the first 2 episodes a brilliant watch and a club very similar to ours. The CEO comes accross well. Noticed he’s not there anymore. Got through the first two episodes last night myself. His reaction to seeing Ibrahimovic as a potential loan target was great - almost a "why the fuck are you even wasting time writing his name down". I get some peoples thoughts about him driving off in a spangling new Range Rover but what do folk expect? That they automatically downgrade to a second hand Corsa? I quite like him from the first couple of episodes. I'll definitely be binge watching the rest of the series over the next few days.

At no point have I, or would I, ever consider him to be in charge of Stoke. Mind you - I thought the same about Lambert!

I think it's brilliant series and you can see why even Coleman couldn't keep them up. I think that job would have been too big for the majority of managers. Their squad, when you compare it to ours this season, was rubbish. Losing Grabban seemed to be a huge issue and that seemed to be Coleman's 'fault' as he wasn't happy at getting subbed off when he arrived. A lot of them actually seemed like decent professionals and human beings, it was never a case of not trying. Rodwell aside (what a monumental penis - I could have kicked the tele when his phone rang and he said "Do you mind, it's a bit personal this" to the camera. Jumped up fucking tosser) they looked a decent bunch. The face he made at the camera when he said that, wants kicking right in the teeth!

Great watch.
Don’t disagree with opinions on Rodwell personally but why should he give up a 70k pw contract because Sunderland have fucked up and not put a release clause in?
If they were still in the Prem and he was being chased by a top club I don’t think they’d be so quick to rip the contract up.

I watched that and thought it was a terrific watch. I quite like Sunderland and I always have, I have a soft spot for these good old fashioned clubs like them, Burnley, Preston and of course us
It was fascinating to see how much Sunderland meant to them, it really was their lives and in particular the dinner lady who just lived and breathed it
It was also interesting about Grayson who looked lost and Coleman who couldn’t hand out a bollocking if his life depended on it
Great watch guys

Really good watch.
Surprised at how much of a wanker Grabban was, I think if he’d stayed he’d have just about kept them up but his behaviour was disgusting.
Rodwell too, actively staying knowing full well he’s crippling the club is scandalous.
I see a few comparisons with that team, and ours when we came down, fortunately Rowett acted quickly with Bauer (if you agree or not) Badou etx.
