No point looking out for it if he's planning on naming Carragher and Hargreaves. One has had a shit season at Liverpool and the other hasn't played since 1994.

Apparently Paul Scholes has been asked to come out of retirement too, but he has declined. Crazy!

the other hasn't played since 1994. The other had a blinding World Cup last time out though! There's no denying that, he was probably our best performer but if he's not played competitively for 18 months he's going to have a hell of task getting back up to speed in time for the WC.

He's got more chance of getting up to speed than Carragher ;D
I agree though, he shouldn't be going just stating that he did do well last time out!

It's a strange old situation. We have many up-and-coming defenders playing week-in-week-out yet Capello is going to call a CB in from a side who finished 17th and had a poor season individually(Upson) and another who is way past his best, also having a rubbish season in the process (Carragher).
What happened to the "picking players who are on form"?
A load of bollocks that was.

Anyone got Jimmy Greaves' number?

I know he has made his mind up, but getting to miss out on all the qualifiers and then getting called up for the real thing is a phenomenal chance. Perhaps he has something about international retirement in his Man U contract?

Even if he has, is it a bridge too far for him now do you think?
He has made some horrendous gaffs this season (along with his more sublime performances of course to be fair).
It would seem very, very odd to me to see us potentially trot out with him Garragher, and King in the side.
There's old heads and there's past the sell-by for me at that level.

I've got an idea ahead of a major international tournament- let's call up some idiot who doesn't want to play for his country, a chap who has never represented England at full level and someone who hasn't played for about 4 years. Odd to say the least.

Fair play to Huddlestone, he deserves a go at it as does Darren Bent, as much as it pains me too say it as he's a tit.
The final 23 I reckon will be
Hart James Green
Terry Baines Cashley Cole Ferdinand Carragher Johnson King Upson
Barry Joe Cole Gerrard Lampard Lennon Milner Walcott Wright Phillips
Crouch Defoe Rooney Heskey
Good to see Scott Parker being recognised. He could do a job for England.

Glad that Adam Johnson is in the squad, would probably take him ahead of SWP or Walcott.

Villa mates tell me that Heskey has been truely shocking this season. Good enough for England though!
Carragher - Fuck Off!!!!! He's been bloody awful all season. Good enough for England though!
ONLY IN ENGLAND!!!!

Also if Carragher has been persuaded to come out of retirement i personally think Capello will have promised him a place in the team probably at right back.
