top 2 in every group go through not top 3, the other places are filled by the teams what finish 3rd in the 8 champions league groups

But the club's price tag on national team goalkeeper standing into further in the way of the Dane's dream.
"It is clear that the longer it goes and if they keep the price evaluation, they have laid, I'll be hard, because I only have one year left on contract," says Thomas Sorensen.
"He (manager Tony Pulis) said 2 to 2.5 million pounds," says Thomas Sorensen for his price tag.
"You are always frustrated when not playing. I said that last year, even though I played in the FA Cup and it was a great success. Yet it is not satisfactory," says the Danish national team goalkeeper, who will soon want to get solid playing time again.
"If I can play somewhere, so it has priority." How does that fit in with apparent interest from Man City, where he would be more of a spectator to Joe Hart? I wish footballers would tell the truth. He isn't interested in playing more games. He just wants a contract that isn't heavily weighted towards appearance bonuses. your pretty much spot on with your assessment he isnt fussed about how many games he plays he just wants a better contract and as we dont seem to be giving him one hes looking at getting one last pay day from someone

it seems as though the last few years we havent been able to hold onto an academy director long enough to enable him to implement there long term plans for the club. ive just had a look at some premier league academys and quite a few have got ex players as academy directors or people who themselves have been at the academy that they work at so know what its like to be there.
Therefore my question to the people who have something to do with the academy is this: Do you believe that the club should appoint an ex player as the next academy director such as someone like denis smith prehaps or maybe even someone like peter hoekstra both have played for the club and both are fans favourites who youngsters would be able to look upto. They were also model pros who gave everything during their careers?
Thoughts?

yeah thought that meself when i read the article
wonder who we will appoint next? The article doesn't scream of a resignation to me, especially with the speculation that has been going around. And I'm not sure, it'll be interesting to see. Rudgey in the interim perhaps? ??? . Does anyone on here know who else we interviewed when he got the job? Will be telling to see who we do appoint as if we go all out to find someone with good experience it will mean were commited to pushing the academy on still or if we settle for someone on the cheap

Cheers for that Joey. I'll be interested to see just how hot and humid it is for English players out in Orlando in the summer months. I'm not sure if the climate will appeal to Pulis or Stoke when it comes to arranging pre season tours. But that should not bother US based European players, who should be acclimatised to it. It will be interesting to see if Phil Rawlins' move of the Franchise pays off. He must be fairly confident to up sticks and move so soon after founding the Aztex. Keep us posted. Ex stoke player lewis neal has played in some of their friendlies i think he may be signing for them but has got some problems with his work permit

It isnt right to say that just because a man has taken you so far that out of respect he should have the job forever, worrying signs have been showing in pulis' tactics and team selections as of late. In the end its all about what they can do for us in the future, pulis plays a football that means we inevitably dont get thrashed very often but are never capable of thrashing a team, however his complete downfall lies in the fact that he favours certain players who have continuously shown they arent good enough and above all, he refuses to change a style of football throughout a game, even if the tactic is not working at the time. Maybe pulis out is harsh but at the very least a more tactically aware no2 should be brought in to keep him pushing this club forward, as left to his own devices with kemp, the future is not looking as promising as it did at the beginning of the year. i agree with most of this especially the final part about the number 2 i believe that since reid went and kemp came back we've gone backwards so i think we should be looking at that and not just the manager
