Just highlights that a signings never actually complete until the obligatory photo of said player holding the clubs shirt or scarf alotf is released. Guessing similar happens at most clubs but seem like we're unique at getting players In & all but signed up before a last minute spanner in the works crops up. Sarkic's name can be added to Damien Francis, Tom Huddlestone, Demba Ba, Goran Popov, Dean Ashton, Juan Agudelo, Scott Carson amongat others who are all players who we believed at one stage or another were Potters bound, only to be left disappointed at what appeared to be the eleventh hour! Some of those listed were even seen in the stands or even at the club wearing Stoke trying gear, but still something went wrong. Some of those (Agudelo) had actually signed and had to be released from the contract because we couldnt get a work permit. Still annoys me now that we couldnt get that one done, decent youngster who given the chance to train over here could have gone on to be a decent player

We wont want both if Edwards is staying I'd be surprised if we kept Edwards. Neil likes him and is impressed so far with him, also brings added versatility as hes played at RB, RCB, CB, CDM for NYRB so can play in a number of positions for us, the only way he leaves this summer is if the club get an offer they can’t refuse for him imo

That’s disappointing. I assumed we’d want both. Exactly the type of signing we should make is the Colchester lad. We wont want both if Edwards is staying

Yeah, according to reports his wife is basically forcing him to move back to England so he's leaving Besiktas on a free. But the Athletic claimed last week he had 2 offers from the Prem - one being Burnley, I think. The other ones that spring to mind are Mavididi who's leaving Montpellier and Siriki Dembele who's been on loan at Auxerre? George Bello might be one to watch as well

Love how people in this thread are using Bursik as a good example of how MON treats youngsters 🤣, when the reality is MON dropped him and DWP from the squad in Jan/Feb and refused to talk to either for a month as they both went out on the lash in London before a game, Bursik has wanted to leave since before the end of last season as he thinks hes got a better chance elsewhere,

So are we saying that we dont get a say in what is being sold in our stadium? The club surely will have given the final go ahead for programmes to be in sale again in the ground. Absolutely unnecessary to charge for these

There’s some masters of hindsight on this thread. “Game Management” “No Plan B” Football manager has got a lot to answer for. We got undone by another daft mistake from a young goalkeeper and the left back making a silly pass which played them in for the second. I fail to see what the bloke watching on the side lines can do about that? Other than to drop them again and get pelters when the replacements also fuck up. Thats 3 games out of the last 4 that we have conceded 2 goals or more in a 5 or 10 minute period to cost us 3 points, wheres the in game management to slow things down like other teams do? Its got nothing to do with Football Manager its basic management, he had 3 strikers warming up from just after half time and yet waited until the 70th min to bring them on

At the game & must say I’m impressed with whole team, quick all over pitch, formation good & interchangeable as required, looking good. Can you go have a word and find out who ur number 2 trial isn’t is for us? Or take a close up picture when they’re back out please 😆 Couple of photos on there of him

It would cost like what £100k a year to have a decent functioning media/marketing outlet, freelancers as and when a couple of full timers, one in a CD/AD role to manage it and a marketing/social exec to run the channels. What the club gain on a monetary value and brand loyalty level is sooo much more than any outlay. Merchandising / ticket sales and everything does better off. If little Stokie local Johnny/Jenny at primary school decides he/she’s gonna support Man Utd of Chelsea because they can watch the tv channel at home, log on line and have things for them and their age range from the club. So throughout Jon & Jena lifetime the amount of money that could/would they have spent at Stoke is now going away to someone else. I reckon if you double that (£200k) then the club could employee 3/4 full time employees, have a load of interns from the uni as well, and the content could extend to Esports (which they can get outside companies to host as well) Stoke YouTube channel is awful there is no extra content like when we had all the extra Muniesa and Bojan videos etc If we had a half decent budget for media we’d easily see the engagement levels rise, and i reckon you could make a million or 2 in extra revenue from the media side of things. Look at Vale with their fan park on Saturday (yes they had teething problems) but they had their biggest crowd in 7 years due to all the off field engagement their owners have been doing

Yeah Scholes doesnt give a fuck and the supporters council just accept any excuse he gives Communicating with the club did work with the U23s Play-off v Sunderland. I (and I assume) many others complained about it not being shown on Youtube and the club reversed its initial decision and responded by email quite quickly too. The council have already said that the club arent streaming it due to lack of avaliable media staff they wont be changing their minds on this i would imagine. The playoff v Sunderland wasnt due to lack of staff it was just pure laziness from Scholes and the club expecting nobody to be bothered about it and wanting to attending it in person so that wss easy to get it reversed.

So, on the face of it, we have Stoke saying they cannot provide a YouTube stream (I don't use Facebook) because they have no media people available but somehow Brum are streaming on Facebook presumably either with equipment they are bringing or Stoke are providing. Either way, given that there was no commentary last season on the U23 streams, you'd have thought that Stoke could use the same stream as Brum through some sort of agreement. I really think that if Stoke organised brewery trips it would be to one producing non-alcoholic beer The game will be being recorded by Stoke for the coaches analysis purposes so there will be equipment there by both sets of teams (wouldnt suprise me if they just used a mobile phone for the facebook coverage 😂 Its an absolute piss take but something that we should have seen coming seeing as though all the pre season friendlies were streamed by the opposition clubs I take it their wont be any match updates on twitter from Stoke if theres no media team avaliable

Lack of media team availability according to the Supporters club due to us travelling to Swansea on Tuesday morning. Ridiculous excuse and shows that we have one of the smallest media teams in the league/top 4 leagues. It isnt like we have a uni right on our doorstep that specialise in media degrees who would be desperate for work experience and people who would be desperate for jobs after their studies have finished That couldn’t be the same University that happens to be one of the clubs main partners, could it ? Thats the one. Who our local rivals have just had sponsor their fan park

Contract cancelled with us paying over half of his remaining wages that he was due in the next 12 months in a lump sum. That Collins money is disappearing very quickly without investing where it matters. The club is rubbish we need to get rid of these players! The club is rubbish we are getting rid of these players! Id rather we were selling the players we need to get rid of or loaning them out with clubs paying some of their wages for 12 months rather than wasting millions on paying off peoples contracts. Just think how much extra money Bauer, Wimmer & Ndiaye have made this summer with big hefty signing on fees from their new clubs as they were all free agents

I am told he's settled in the area his kids are settled at school and his Mrs likes her job, I can only see him moving to a midland club and if it's to be in the Premiership then that narrows it down, Villa, Leicester and Wolves unless he fancies a move to WBA who will have plenty of £ with the parachute money in the Championship. Gouranga. Someone on Twitter reckons he’s sold his house and moved back to Wales 🤷♂️ He sold up either just pre Xmas or just after and moved back to South Wales due to wanting his kids in a welsh speaking school. If Swansea can afford a few mill then i would imagine he would jump at a reunion on less wages than hes on here. Highly doubt he would move to a Burnley etc when he will be having to travel for hours to go to training

Messi is a good dividend winner he’s won 84p in dividends per share this season so far.

I heard a rumour a few weeks back that it was Denise who was lobbying for Hughes to go in the summer and her dad and John out voted her. She is/was incredibly worried about the likes of wolves who have spent £80mill on trying to get to the prem. She wanted to get rid of Hughes last summer and bring in Silva she was also happy to spend a lot of money on players but John n Peter want the club to be self sufficient. How true it is I don’t know but quite interesting if it is. Albeit a long time ago ie when St Peter took over for his second stint, I heard from a sauce that Denise was dead set against it and hated SCFC because of the way we'd treated her old man the first time round. It was all Pete and Jon with Denise refusing to have anything to do with us other than indulging her dad with a bit of spending money. That of course may have changed evidenced by the bet365 sponsorship deal but not to the extent of the complete role reversal you describe. Surely? That was what I always thought in that she hated everything Stoke related but my guess would be that she’s seen what revenue/exposure Stoke being a top half prem side brings to Bet365. I suppose we will never know.

Imbula. You can't let that one experience put you off spending good money. You've just got to make sure you actually get the scouting right. Speechless. Absolutely speechless. Should we also drop Butland and stop developing him for a top 4 team to sign in the summer? Are you serious? Of course we should sign the imbulas of this world on 5 year deals. Jese will be here till the summer then will get another move to a Sevilla, Roma etc. Like bayern says the experience of signing Imbula should not put us off it should just make the club invest more in its scouting network so we get it right next time. The jese's/zoumas of this world are brilliant signings for the club to enhance our reputation and to make players realise that we are a gd option to sign for.

I think long in the tooth Altrincham supporters may have a different opinion on that. They were always THE non-league club of the day and failed to become a league side on several occasions due to the old pals act that saw clubs elected in or otherwise by the other football league chairmen. Crwho were normally the beneficiaries of this, Altrincham the fall guys. Non-league football has changed dramatically since promotion/relegation on merit was introduced. Look at the Conference now and it is littered with former league clubs that the likes of Altrincham and Stafford cannot compete with. As well as mismanagement at both the aforementioned this now sees both plying their trade at the third tier of non-league- Rangers actually slipped below that recently but are now recovering. Neither side will ever recover former glories for the reason given and I would suggest they are Conference North size clubs at best. Talent has cascaded down with the advent of the Premier League with all its imports and you can see some really good stuff around non-league as well as enjoying a more traditional football experience including a few beers while watching as mentioned above. I'd certainly recommend it when there is no Prem footie scheduled. I'm going along to Kidsgrove on Monday for the local derby with Newcastle Town. I can't comment on Altrincham at all as I was a mere youngster when Stafford Rangers were still considered a big club at that level. The rest I totally agree with and I've enjoyed watching Kidsgrove Athletic, Leek Town and Newcastle Town over the years. Living away from the area, as I now do, even watching the likes of Colne and Barnoldswick Town is good crack for the exact reasons that you mention. I watch that level of football and become even more disillusioned with anything non Stoke related at Premier League level. The game on Monday night was an absolute farce and I'd rather give up my season ticket than see Stoke approach a game in the way that both Man City and Everton did. I know exactly how you feel i was very close to giving up my stoke season ticket this year after last season and was very tempted to follow non league full time as i felt that disillusioned with the prem and how much money is floating around. I would highly recommend to anyone who has a spare Saturday or Bank Holiday Monday this weekend to go and find your local non league team and give it a go. All the local teams are at home either Saturday or Monday.

What your all forgetting is that Zouma won't be here for long and when he goes back to Chelsea (in January) then we will need Wimmer or AN Other CB to replace him. Signing Wimmer now in case Zouma is recalled in Jan is a good piece of business Is there a recall option for zouma? U would imagine so. They added one into Akes deal at Bournemouth last season. Zouma will go back to Chelsea and replace Cahill their.

It will be the best thing you ever do. I started going last season with my Dad and I absolutely love it. Stafford have got a fantastic side this year signed a couple of very decent players. Dan Westwood has scored 100 goals in the last 2 season for Wolverhampton sporting www.theguardian.com/football/2017/feb/08/dan-westwood-wolverhampton-sporting-100-goalsThey had Josh Gordon playing for them last season before he got a big move to Leicester where he's currently playing for there u23s They have got ex vale defender Exodus Geoghagan and Kyle Perry (ex vale striiker) on the bench at the moment as he can't get a game. They've got a really good squad at the moment the manager Neil Kitching is a brilliant non league manager tells it how it is if players are playing crap he isn't afraid to say it. I'd love for Stoke to send some of our youngsters there and have a pre season friendly there they get crowds of about 700 at the moment for home games they bayernoatcake get yourself down there I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by how good it is. I'd rather give one of the none league clubs in Stoke the money tbh. But they do sound very impressive! I'm just intrigued about this history I never knew they had. I know one of the players mentioned on this thread personally too and knew he had played for them but didn't quite realise how good a none league club they were back then. They still are a good team. Their to big for the level they are currently at and are slowly working their way back up to the level they should be (conference) like someone said they hit very hard times a few years ago they tried to make it in to the football league but failed and had some managers in(Tim Flowers) who just weren't up to the job and ended up getting relegated 2/3 times I must say that the standard at non league is much better than I thought it would be and I didn't realise until I started looking into it more that a lot of non leagues teams are now going professional. As so many full time clubs are dropping down from league 2 and their is quite a lot of money floating around at some clubs that they need to be full time to stand any chance of competing
