I don't mean entering the a50, it could be over towards the incinerator and onto the 500 where the slip road is now. Wouldn't that involve building a road bridge over 4 (?) railway tracks and a canal? That's not going to be cheap - good luck with trying to persuade the Highways department of the merits and cost effectiveness of that! When we've been paying wasters thousands of pounds a week it would be cheap in terms of fans experience. Building this and a decent fanzone would cost around what, 2-3 million max? And the fans would benefit from it.

Considering they've paid off the council to close the road to the new house they have more power than some people think 😂 they could easily make it happen. So you want the highway agency & city planners to authorise the building of a 2nd slip road 50-75 yards after the first one?  .. thats 50-75 yards nearer to a major roundabout on a major road that already sees lane switching akin to wacky races ..on one of the countries main west>east route roads I totally agree access and entry onto and from the site has been a problem from day 1 .. even after the north bound slip roads were added to several years after the ground was built ..but unless the A50 north and South of the ground were closed to none football traffic  ( not going to happen ) ..then additional slip rounds are never going to be approved The reason we moved in the first place was that Asda were denied building a slip road onto the A500 on land Stoke hoped to sell to them ..including going all the way to a public enquiry ..and was subsequently one of the reason why the land the Vic was built on had limited value as it had no value to commercial or light industry as no exit could be built .. the same applies to the plot the Brit is built on built pending an entire huge road widening programme allowing a stadium use only lane(s)  ..including the building of stadium only underpasses to  bypass the roundabout issue then I can’t honestly see what can be added at the Boothen side of the ground I don't mean entering the a50, it could be over towards the incinerator and onto the 500 where the slip road is now.

Because they know how shit the exits are, they have to sit waiting for them clear. If them or the staff they employ even walked around after full time they'd see the problem. They can afford so shut a road with security on either end where they are building there brand new house so they can so this for the 20-30 thousand fans which go and help the matchday experience. I’m not sure you know how all this works The highways are NOTHING to do with them wether they have the money or not They can’t just decide to build a road or close a road ….fuck me sideways Considering they've paid off the council to close the road to the new house they have more power than some people think 😂 they could easily make it happen.

Come on like the Coates family will be arsed to do this. They can't even be bother to build the fans a proper fan zone or another exit to a50 behind the boothen, both major things needed before a water taxi but are pie in the sky things unfortunately When did the Coates family become in charge of the highways? Blaming them for the lack of another exit off the stadium is beyond belief even more so when it’s fuck all to do with them Because they know how shit the exits are, they have to sit waiting for them clear. If them or the staff they employ even walked around after full time they'd see the problem. They can afford so shut a road with security on either end where they are building there brand new house so they can so this for the 20-30 thousand fans which go and help the matchday experience.

Completely off topic but if we’re talking about improving Stoke then we need to start utilising the canals better. They’re our best feature by a mile and could be far more useful if we introduce water taxis and pleasure boats, etc. Ambling about on a barge at less than walking speed is great but also of no real use to anyone. How about water taxis from Stone to the bet365 serving food and ale on a match day? And from westport lake in the other direction? Fuck this ambling speed limit off and use them to our advantage. Come on like the Coates family will be arsed to do this. They can't even be bother to build the fans a proper fan zone or another exit to a50 behind the boothen, both major things needed before a water taxi but are pie in the sky things unfortunately

Why don't you have 1 operator for every 2 turnstiles and allow the people to scan own tickets? At Leeds they don't even have turnstile operators just the scanner and you scan it and walk through. It was mentioned on the other thread that they manually have to press a button for the turnstile to work so they need 1 per turnstile. Well surely the club could sort it out so they could be automatic with 1 per 2 turnstiles. Another thing the supporters council should be sorting but are doing sweet FA about.

We had a few new starters on turnstiles today so more were open and only needed 3 of us on away end so that freed up 2 more operators. Wednesday not looking good 10 to 15 operators not available because of work and holiday commitments Why don't you have 1 operator for every 2 turnstiles and allow the people to scan own tickets? At Leeds they don't even have turnstile operators just the scanner and you scan it and walk through.

Really? I find this to be a very unfair and negative comment. I'm from Stafford and I feel Stoke has plenty to offer. It might be a bit rough around the edges in some places, but overall it's a great city and people should embrace it more. Agreed. The city itself isn't pretty but that is true of many cities. If You want a pre match drink or a post match meal there are plenty of decent options in SOT and Newcastle. If you want to make a weekend of it (with or without a partner and family) there is (as pointed out above) Alton Towers not too far away plus Trentham Gardens, museums, theatres etc. If the great outdoors is your thing then the areas around Roaches or Rudyard etc. will appeal. People will run down the city but there's a lot of worse places across the UK. We have some great places on our doorstep, and even the council are trying to regenerate the city centre with the arena etc. Small-time city with small time people, we should be proud of our city.

Fergie always used say the good teams find a way win when they don't play well, and we did that today. Think apart from brown we didn't have a player perform over a 6, but at least we got the win against a bang in form side.

Was disappointed with him today, thought his passing wasn’t great and he killed a lot of forward momentum Hopefully he’s still getting up to speed He needs to play alongside Allen for me. We looked wide open through the middle even more than usual. To be fair he has said he's a 8 but with Mario and Powell he won't get a game over those two, so he needs to make the spot next to Allen his. Thought he was actually worse than clucas today but they were both shockingly bad.

What about segregation? It’s not just as simple as opening up part of another stand for away fans. We would probably have sold a couple thousand more on general sale but Derby would have to give us a whole stand to accommodate those couple of thousand safely. I think that it’s truly sad that in this day and age, fans can’t sit near each other and just accept the game as is. I’m all for sectioning support out to keep a solid atmosphere, but I don’t understand why people still have to act a fool and need to be segregated. It's all because the dicks who have a few beers before the game feel brave and would probably end up fighting with the opposition fans. How many times have we seen Stoke fans fighting with each other? Don't need segregation in rugby it's just the clowns who go football and think they need to drink that much they can't even watch the game.

Three (senior) goalies is the norm, isn't it? It is but the make up of ours isn’t the norm? 3 goalies all in their 20s all expecting to start? When would Bonham expect to start? He was shit for Gillingham and he's behind two international goalkeepers.

The fact you'd take mikel shows you know sweet FA about football. Probably the worst midfielder to play for Stoke in the last 5 years plus. The club were pretty keen to keep him and he's making big bucks playing abroad... If we were that "keen" to keep him we wouldn't have released him. The fact he's moved abroad shows us everything about the bloke, only shows up for the pay slip and nothing else.

I know he isn't but at this time of deadline day we're not going get a decent enough replacement and sell him on. At least our midfield is better than mikel and Allen last season eh.. It is but I’d take Mikel in this side over Allen. Much better use of the ball. The fact you'd take mikel shows you know sweet FA about football. Probably the worst midfielder to play for Stoke in the last 5 years plus.

The first goal was pretty much the perfect way to play against our formation and draw players out of position doubling up wide. The next 10 15 mins we had some very good period which showed the positives of the formation. I've got nothing against the formation just stating we need a disciplined specialist acting as the spine to hold our shape. Allen isn't that player I know he isn't but at this time of deadline day we're not going get a decent enough replacement and sell him on. At least our midfield is better than mikel and Allen last season eh..

Local Macc fans are blaming ‘Congleton/Port Vale’ for this and were singing Vale songs inside the stadium. Football hooliganism is creeping back, and it’s full on rucking not ‘bouncers’. I suspect they’re getting confident from timid police responses to public order incidents. You can thank social media, the press and cuts for the timid Police response. It took Robbie savage to get in the middle of them to split it up.

Norwich wolves and one more for me. Wolves were excellent yesterday despite the loss, if they can play like that for most of the season I think they'll finish in the top half, they were very unlucky not to take anything from the game.
Norwich, Burnley, and Southampton/Palace for me. I'd like Norwich to stay up though.
They haven't got a goalscorer and the "too good to go.down" reminds me of us. I think there in big trouble. The dingles will turn soon I think.

Gonna ask again, how can they afford all this? There’s so much money awash in non league at the moment, that this doesn’t surprise me. Although, I’ve heard an official at another local club ask the same question. You could throw millions at a club like the Vale and they’d just tread water. Throw the same money at a club like Hanley Town, you may get multiple promotions, improved stadium, bigger crowds, in effect more bang for your buck. I’ve heard that there’s a club starting from scratch with the aim of getting into the EFL. Possibly, AFC Wimbledon who went from informal trials on Wimbledon Common to six promotions in thirteen years may have turned a few heads. Wimbledon treatment of Kingstonian completely stained the fairytale for me, but that’s another story. Apart from Newcastle Town all our local sides have big budgets. Congleton Town have Richard Duffy, Billy paynter and Tom pope, then you have Kidsgrove athletic who are owned by a millionaire the guy who owns autonet insurance.

Teams we've beat so far this season in the league have won 2 games out of 15 between them. Huddersfield will be a bigger test than Saturday as I can only see Fulham walking this league.. Playoffs are possible with a couple of Quality additions before the transfer window closes.. I'd say we have a good chance of play offs with the squad we have at the moment. So many poor mistakes which cost us from winning positions least season and if we turned the shit draws into wins where we were gutless at home, we would have made the play offs, and that is with how poor we were last season too. If we are more consistent this season and are ruthless, Mon doesn't shit himself and play attacking football we will make the play offs.

He's always been good defensively and helped out when needed to double up with the fullback when he played. I certainly think he could do a job at rwb if his head is In the right place 🤣🤣🤣🤣 good try. Good defensively 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 So when he played he didn't track back constantly then no? If anything he spent too much time defending.
