Looking infinitely better in these first 10 minutes. Why are we so slow out of the blocks first half?

The standard of Iversen really highlights that Bonham isn’t as bad as some believe. Iversen was supposed to be some sort of rock star goalkeeper. He’s let in more than he’s saved today yet again. For me this season Bonham has been a decent keeper. Iversen like Travers isnt any better.

Dont worry lads, only Boro, Leeds, Preston, Norwich and Hull next!
Any points between now and April would be incredible.

Hughes lived off Pulis's backbone and didn't replace and it cost us, MON did wonders and should probably up there second to Tone in recent history and that's my opinion. Yeah I agree with most of that, however the point was, none of the managers bar Pulis really have gone on to do better AFTER their spell at Stoke. In fact, even TP is arguable given we were a team finishing 9th after TP, but he did well with Palace. You have to go back to Gary Megson to find a manager that did better at a higher level after leaving Stoke. That is 25 years ago. Not sure this is exactly balanced. Rowett did better before and after us. Since leaving Millwall they've dropped like a stone and could get relegated. Jones did better before and after us, just he got shown up at Southampton and Luton signed a quality manager. MON is neutral. He was the best long term manager we've had for years, integrating the youth like he did. Alex Neil did better before, Mowbray improved things and Beale has shown it's tougher than it looks. Schumacher did an outstanding job at Plymouth. He's learning lots right now.

The numbers out of contract this season or on loan , is one reason that caused me to question RMs take on it , when he stated at the recent forum there wouldn’t be wholesale recruitment this summer .. just the numbers game , never mind decisions around quality , fit for purpose of players still in contract suggest the opposite ..unless his plan is to leave spaces in the squad for January recruitment ..or simply leave gaps awaiting announcements to FFP regs or FFP budgets ..ie less but better quality players ( not withstanding we could extend contracts , but honestly are any of them worth doing that .. Would have liked him to have been questioned further to clarify his statement Good news is the loan players have added very little this season and of those out of contract this summer only Thompson should be kept on.

Didnt watch the game so cant comment. His signing video shows him as someone who is grounded, probably easy to manage, calm and a similar kind of personality as Brown (possibly less driven).
Sounds like a good egg, based upon where we are that seems exactly what we need from a forward.

Yesterday first half reminded me of when we played Huddersfield last year before Warnock took over. Good players, just not looking joined up as a team or playing to their strengths. He signed and things changed for them. If we'd played like that second half I'd have be thinking we need a new manager to keep us up. Fortunately we did start to play better. We give up so many goals on the counter attack, or transition as it's called now that it's concerning. Especially when you can see from the Blackburn comments they were targeting it, especially on the left. "We knew that we'd find space on transition so there was an element of allowing Stoke to come onto us." www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68189963Other teams have done the same and we may need to play deeper for a period. Definitely can't play Gooch at left or right back either.

going to bet a tenner each game we don't win.
It's very dirty, but it'll soften the blow if we get relegated.
if we stay up, happy days!

Is it right Schumacher looked up to him after one of the their goals today? Yep The sunday league goal where the centre backs showed they didnt want to win it.

It doesn't help that they have to play full back too. From when Neil was sacked up until we beat Rotherham we had conceded 4 goals in 8 games and only 7 teams had conceded less than us in the league. Full backs for the most part sat deep throughout this time. Since the loss to Birmingham he has gone balls to the wall attacking with full backs, midfield and wide players all playing high up. This has resulted in 14 goal conceded in 4 games. The best part about this allout attack is that we have scored 3 in the last 4 games compared to 5 in the first 4 games since Neil left. So we dont even score more. Gallagher was on to something then?

Unfortunately you’re not going to get the response you want tonight. If we would have drawn the game today then I couldn’t agree more with what you’re saying. HOWEVER making a team which is on its arse go 3-0 up in 30 minutes and make them look like they are a league above where we are is indefensible. first half was possibly the worst half of football weve had this season. Second half gave lots of encouragement, we need to build upon that and as much as we want to let the players know how we feel, maybe being the 12th man again will help to keep us up?

Whatever was said at half time is what needs to be said from the start. We will lose this, but we look a lot more like an actual football team.
Johnson was a mint penalty taker before joining us. What gives??

just watched the press conference for this game and it's got to be said that Schuey comes across positive, maybe a little bit more quietly confident than previously. Great to see some of his responses and he doesn't hide at all. Gives me confidence for the rest of the season.
One gripe though. Who is the belter after Ange? Anges questions are fair, probing and reasoned. The guy after is just incredibly negative, trying to almost create a bad atmosphere. He should be banned from asking questions like the ones he did and just f-off up the vale.

Mmaee

Chiquinho sent back from his loan and Mmaee training with the U21s - both signed in the summer. Makes you wonder what background checks and due diligence our recruitment team do…! Wonder who within the recruitment team is responsible for doing these type of checks and how much weighting they put on it. Mmaee looks technically very capable and with this happening it's obvious why he's not "made it" and so has been in poorer leagues. Wonder how well we knew of it and whether we felt we could extract better value.
