This time tomorrow could be in bottom 3 ☹️ just letting those who aren't too worried, know the reality of the situation.

You're like the fella who gets on a mic at a great Office party to say that the sweet old tea lady had died 😁 We basically have to do something we haven't done in months tomorrow ...no not that...win a game at home . Worrying

As shit as we've been i just don't get how we have been as bad as the current bottom 4. Very nervous about going down.

Stinks of our time in the prem when we all thought there was no way we could be relegated, we will just have enough. We all know the outcome of that.

You can feel it getting down to the wire. I think the fear is that it won’t go near the wire. QPR at home is crucial. It sends a marker for us and for them. After that it’s a mixture of tough and very tough games where we need to grind out points, the best situation (if we beat QPR) is that we only need to grind out 6 less than QPR do - IF we accept that Rotherham and Sheffield Wed are cast adrift.

This site stinks of negativity lately, here's a novel idea why don't some so called supporters try and get behind the team instead of pedalling doom and fucking gloom. Gouranga.

Anyone who isn’t sick to the core at the prospect of relegation isn’t a Stoke fan. I’m currently watching Sunderland documentary Series 3 on Netflix. Watching this should make all Stoke fans realise that we will not be getting promoted from that league because of who we used to be. No prisoners are taken in Div One. It is a bear pit. We could well be there for years.

The gloom is driven by what we watch on the pitch. Chicken and egg. You are correct but it is also true that the performance on the pitch is driven by the atmosphere being transmitted from the stands. I am not blaming the crowd, I get as frustrated as anyone at a match but three successive managers now have referred to how players seem scared to play at home and heads drop as the crowd start to get angry. Something has to break the cycle but I can't see how because it is a vicious circle. The team start a match scared of making a mistake, crowd start complaining about over cautious play (backwards, sideways, misplaced passes, chances missed etc ), team get anxious leading to mistakes, crowd get even angrier, team make more wrong decisions and mistakes. If you need proof the damning statistic is that of 49 home wins in the Championship twelve of them came when we played behind closed doors. Not sure how many home games we played without fans but that is a quarter of our championship home wins over five and a half seasons had no fans watching. EDIT I think I'm right in saying we played 27 home games behind closed doors In the 2019/20 season we won 3 out of 4 games with no fans and 6 out of 19 in front of fans. The following season we won 9 of our 23 home games. Not brilliant but way above our average number of home wins with fans in the ground

The atmosphere at places like Man City and Liverpool is sometimes as flat as a witches tit but they still win games.

A win tonight and one on Saturday and we could be mid table. All is not lost yet. Hope this last weekend has been a big wake up call for the players.

The atmosphere at places like Man City and Liverpool is sometimes as flat as a witches tit but they still win games. The players have changed, the manager's have changed but still we get poor performances at home. There has to be a reason why we can't produce at home. The one constant is the crowd. During Covid the crowd weren't there, the results and performances were better. Seems like evidence to me if only in a small sample. If you think players don't respond to groans at mistakes and shouts from the crowd to stop playing backwards, or jeers when players try something that doesn't come off or abuse when they miss a chance you are very naive. As I said it's up to the players to overcome their fears and their performances have to improve to get us back on side but at the moment we are in a bad place and us fans are not helping. Our reaction is justified but I don't know how you break the circle other than getting a run of results perhaps just through luck as you can't fault effort in most matches.

If we lose tonight, which I think we will, we will be in the bottom 3 obviously and I don't think this manager or the team have the balls to pull us out of the situation. We have been in the same scenario before but have somehow pulled ourselves clear, this lot don't seem up for any relegation fight.i hope I am proved wrong but the signs are not good.
