Deja vu with us and Paul Lambert our relegation year. Fucking hell Apart from Lambert was an abomination, who wouldn't have secured a championship role with any other club let alone a premier league one! That said, saints look certainties for relegation now. As we know, when the crowd turn it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy.

The club should be really looking at getting Liam on another year's loan. This season will have been a massive learning curve for him, coming up against vastly experienced centre halves. It seems pointless for us to give him a year's experience at this level and then see him sign for another Championship club and potentially see him start to blossom somewhere else. Or we could look elsewhere for someone who’s actually good enough? The only thing more laughable than spending a fortune to loan a kid whose best strength *is* his strength and play him in a league full of stronger centre backs, is to waste the time and effort to do it again the year after. In his last few games his awareness of the opposition's defenders has been much better, as has his awareness of the rest of our team. If he continues to improve at the same rate he has so far he'll be top end championship / bottom end premier league by the end of the season. Its crazy to think he's 19.

The wingback/fullback position is farcical. We don't have anyone fit to play rb (it appears the excellent when fit Sterling is made of biscuits). We have to sign a competent fullback so we can play a back four because Souttar is not mobile enough to play on the right of a three as witnessed today. Do we believe Souttar will still be here come February?

No chance.
He's already played more decent minutes for us than Allen ever did.

Don't think delap deserves the amount of stick he's getting today. He's been a strong target man. He's largely been outstanding, just his finishing could have been better. Today is the first time I can really see him being a long term success. He's more comfortable with his all round game, the goals will come too.

Delap looks to me a player who's really just starting to get to grips at this level. Can see him doing well second half of the season.

What does Delap show to you that makes you think this?
His running around like an aggressive bull?

Possibly my favourite Stoke player ever. We've had better and more important players but if he wasn't as brittle I'm convinced he would have played for the European position teams.
He could be frustrating as anything, but he was a proper entertainer and even his petulant moments were great.

Sterling & Fosu both out of contract in the summer, so there could be a chance we sign them both permanently for a nominal fee / free. I imagine it would be difficult to send any of the loans back though due to the fact all 3 parties must agree. Maybe Kilkenny could go back as his playing opportunities may be quite slim, I'd imagine he's behind Baker, Laurent, Thompson and any potential new signing in the pecking order. Both coming down off prem club contracts. Not saying either are bad players but given what they've produced so far I'd be reluctant to give either a top end championship contract for 2 or 3 years. EDIT: I'd be pretty happy if we could send all the loanees back. Sterling is potentially the best right back we've had for years.

Yep usually the in form team. Leicester did it the year we played them. Martin ON went there, a couple of good signings and they got in in as Millwall lost their last game. Yeah the bastards broke my heart as a kid, we should have beat them in the away game first leg but were crap in the home game. We annihilated them away, i was convinced wed slap a few past them!

Being fair to the guy he’s had an injury (quite serious ones) hit career at the club bar 1 season. Never seemed to get over injuries and regain consistency before injury struck again. Not a bad footballer Forget derogatory remarks, I doubt very much you’ll see him in Stoke shirt again. Never complimented the rest of the midfield we have had. He cant tackle, dribble, or hold position. He is athletic for a CM and has a fairly decent hit on him though.

From what I've seen he isn't but that's only watching him last season with the youngsters, if he's improved quite a bit since then he could be worth 10 mins or so to find out. You'd imagine he'll stay in and around the first team to give him the experience of training with the big boys and be given a start against Hartlepool in the cup. Depending on how he does in that will influence what his next step is. Probably a loan out somewhere. As we've seen with Delap it's a massive step up to the Championship even from the very best of u21's. They are very different strikers so the adjustment time could be different. Delaps game is based upon power and at junior level he can physically dominate defenders. He's just starting to adjust to the stronger quicker defenders now. Tezgel relies much more upon intelligence and touch and so he may be able to step up quicker.

a daft signing you can see the possibility of jags adding a bit of composure to the back line , in carefully selected games , ie not v absolute speed merchants such as watford's Sarr but to sign a speed merchant like dwight gayle or micheal owen after their legs have gone , and they no longer have that killer acceleration is daft . both good players ( better than good in Owen's case ) in their day , but pointless signings when their pace has deserted them We will see the benefit of Dwight Gayle once he has left. He's a good striker for the youth players to learn from. Definitely not the biggest reason for signing him, but that's where we will get value now.

Yeah because young players don’t learn or develop do they? Delap might do. Brown is just shit. Do you genuinely believe he's shit? Is he poorer than the average championship striker?

8 of us from uttoxeter going stopping over supposed to be good night Definitely a good night out, its better set up for pubs and bars than clubs mind. Before the game going down North street would be decent. Then depending upon what you are after Clubs and tacky bars - Habourside Decent Bars/pubs - King street Or you could go up into Clifton ££££

Changing a loss to Boro to a Stoke win sounds an awful lot like changing real results to imaginary ones to me. Why would I pretend I didn’t think something that I did? If I thought AN was doing a good job I’d say so, why wouldn’t I? I know this is going to sound incredibly strange and alien to your belief system, but not everyone has weird, clingy attachments to football managers. Can't we just agree that based on the evidence currently available both MON and Alex Neil are both crap/shit/rubbish*? (*delete as appropriate) We rightly sacked one and I'd be very much inclined to sack the other sooner rather than later. Would you be more confident of survival if Neil was sacked?
